Chapter 318: Fighting Lena, part 1
"You are the one that made them turn against me?" Silva asked. There was anger deep in his eyes, but he tried not to show it.
Lena looked at Silva from above, a smile slowly forming on her face as if agreeing with what Silva had said. But the next moment, she opened her mouth and said something contrary.
"No, I didn't manipulate your friends. Yes, I did have some input, but all I did was enhance and force out their deeply buried desires and feelings.
All they showed here was actually them showcasing their truth. It wasn't me telling them what to say, no, I don't have that specific power.
But I can amplify your desire like a drug, and then you'll do what you always wanted to do," Lena said.
Silva listened to every word closely. He let out a pained sigh and then looked at his friends standing there. They all stared back at him, confusion and conflict in their eyes.
He looked away from them and back to Lena. "How did you find out about me and what route I would be taking? And while you're at it, tell me where you're from," Silva asked.
"Bossy, are we? Well, I like that, so I'll tell you. That little kingdom you so dearly defend had rats. You would think that humans living their best lives would stay together and actually be happy.
But we are the most unpredictable and unreliable race to ever exist, because even when we get all we ever wanted, we find a way to want more, to get more.
It's a demonic cycle that never ends. Greed fosters betrayal, personal wants, and desires, deeply rooted in the hearts of many.
And that's the exact thing I seek out and use for myself," Lena said.
"As for where I am from, I won't tell you because it has to be a secret. But it is connected to the place that you want to go to," she added.
"I have one more question before anything else. Why did Dawn and Amber not get affected by your whatever?" he asked.
"Well, Dawn was caught in it as well, but it seems you have a stronger and deeper hold that broke her out of it immediately.
As for Amber, her desire is simply to follow you. Regardless of what you do, she will simply follow you till the day you die," Lena said.
Every word she spoke was a stab in the hearts of Fay, Leah, Lia, Aaron, and Sage. They had claimed to love who Silva was, they claimed that they cared for him.
But when the chips were down, they all turned against him. Desires that they themselves didn't know were really there, passing thoughts that they had, now came back to haunt them.
"Lena, now that I know what you want, what is your next plan?" Silva asked.
"Simple. Capture you and bring you back as a prisoner. I don't care about the others, just you. But I'll still capture you all.
I was supposed to follow you and find out what it was that you were after, but now that it has gone to the gutter, I'll be taking you, and you'll make a good bargaining chip against the demons.
We can't kill you because, well, you are a demon king candidate, and that would offset the balance and cause a war that no one is ready for. But still, using you as leverage is fair play," Lena said.
Silva looked at her, surprised at her idiocy. Was she stupid, or eagerly trying to be?
"Tell me, Lena, are you as strong as a hero or demon king? If you have met them, you should know," Silva said.
"Huh? Why would you ask that?" she asked.
"I just need to know," Silva said. While he spoke, he used Dragon Eyes on her, and it worked. The fact that it worked was already a sign that she was not stronger than the heroes.
The heroes were strong enough to hide their stats with ease, even from Silva's eyes.
Name: Lena
Race: Human
Mana: 200,000
Strength: 60,000
Defense: 70,000
Speed: 80,000
Agility: 80,000 Your next chapter is on My Virtual Library Empire
Intelligence: 100,000
She had good stats for a human, but she didn't come anywhere close to a hero. A hero could sneeze, and she would die.
Was this how low the empire saw Silva? Had they not gotten information about his strength, or did White Fang hide everything from them?
"It doesn't matter if I am as strong as the heroes or not. What matters is that I am here to capture all of you," she said and then waved both hands around in a synchronized pattern.
The pattern she moved her hands in looked like a circle with some inside patterns as well, and when her hands connected at the center, a massive magical circle formed above all of them.
"This is the end of your journey. Sadly, it had to be so short. I could have stayed with you a while longer, and all of us would have had fun if you didn't ruin it," Lena said.
"I'm tired of this," Silva suddenly spoke. He pointed his finger at a certain point of the formation. A purple flame formed on his finger and compressed into a small ball. He fired it, and it smashed into one point of the formation.
Immediately it hit, the formation started breaking into pieces and then dissipating. Lena watched in shock and horror as this happened.
"How… how did you do that?" she roared at Silva.
"I have a dragon's eye, idiot. I can see energy flow easily, and I can pinpoint the exact weakness at any time," Silva said.
"Arghhhhhh!" Lena roared in anger. She shot at Silva, a twisted black sword appearing in her hand. She held the sword to her side, ready to thrust it into Silva, but Silva just stood there with a smile.
Seeing the smile, she got infuriated. She spun the spear around, and black energy enveloped it. She threw it with all her might, traveling at a crazy speed toward Silva.
