Chapter 56: Something Bad
The air inside Spriggan's wooden home smelled like fresh tree sap and old metal. The walls were stacked with parts, tools, wires, and strange glowing crystals. Bits of both ships Waffle and Sakudara's cruiser were scattered across the floor.
Spriggan stood in the center, arms crossed, staring at the giant machine he was slowly building from both broken ships. The new ship looked like a strange fusion of smooth tech and natural wood, with roots acting like wires
Saku wiped the sweat from his forehead. "This is madness," he muttered. "But… it's starting to look like a real ship."
Meanwhile…
Sharmitha and Lyra were on the other side of the inland, sitting at a cozy wooden shop under hanging lanterns. They had just eaten a warm glowing root stew and were now sipping something cold and sweet. The streets were calm, peaceful. Children laughed, tree leaves shimmered.
"It's beautiful here," Sharmi whispered.
Lyra nodded. "Like another world."
They began walking towards the center, where a massive flower, as tall as a mountain, stood glowing and breathing. It opened and closed like lungs, and its petals gave warmth and life to the entire planet. People relaxed around it like it was a park, laughing, praying, picnicking.
A nearby Floranian explained, "That is our Life Flower. It feeds our trees. Gives our homes power. When it closes, night begins."
Lyra smiled. "It's like their sun."
They slowly walked behind it where the place is filled with forests, the trees were pure green, they got stunned by the fresh air
Suddenly
Something came out of the forest. They stopped moving forward and looked to see what it was.... But then they realised,
A blood-covered Floranian burst out of the forest behind the flower, gasping and falling to the ground.
Lyra and Sharmi froze.
"What happened?!" Sharmi cried.
He was breathing heavily, he couldn't even breath actually.
He was about to say something..
A another floranian came running sees him with blood,
But the blood covered floranian pointed his hands directly into the forest..
Sharmi, Lyra and both the floranians just starred the forest.
Later, on spriggans house
Spriggan smirked. "Told you. It's 90% done."
He wasn't lying. He had done most of it alone. His wooden hands moved with precision and skill. He was like a tree engineer, bending vines and wires together, twisting them until they worked. Saku tried to help, handing tools, connecting small parts…
And BoBo?
BoBo was sitting in a corner, his cheeks puffed with glowing nuts he had found in a storage crate. His hands were covered in black oil, and he had somehow managed to wear a welding mask upside down.
"BoBo," Saku sighed, "what are you even doing?"
BoBo grinned under the crooked mask. "I'm making a laser gun!"
Spriggan didn't even look back. "Don't let him touch the energy core."
Before the chaos could escalate, a soft knock came from the wooden door.
Several Floranian women stood outside, their leafy dresses glowing slightly in the twilight. They each carried lanterns shaped like flowers, and their eyes sparkled with joy and calm.
One of them bowed respectfully. "Captain Spriggan, it's time. The temple ceremony begins at nightfall."
Spriggan nodded slowly. "Understood."
He turned back to the boys.
"You two," he said, pointing at Saku and BoBo, "stay here. Outsiders are not allowed inside the temple. Finish tightening the back thrusters. Don't break anything. I'll be back before moonrise."
"Got it," Saku replied, already wiping his greasy hands.
BoBo, still chewing on something rubbery, gave a thumbs up with two fingers.
As Spriggan walked out, the Floranian women bowed again. "Blessings to the forest's breath," one whispered.
"Blessings to the root," Spriggan replied softly, walking away into the glowing streets.
Saku turned back to the half-built ship. "Alright, now where did that idiot go"
He stopped.
BoBo ?
Dawn he was missing.
"…BoBo?" Saku looked around.
No answer.
He ran out, looking down the road. Then he spotted it, a tiny figure with bouncing white hair running full speed toward the temple, arms flapping like a bird.
"BOBOOOO!! GET BACK HERE YOU FLYING IDIOT!"
