Star Wars: I’m in trouble !

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: A fine line

The darkened chamber deep within Coruscant's underbelly flickered with the glow of a single red hologram. Darth Sidious sat in his throne-like chair, his hood casting a shadow over his skeletal features. Before him, Count Dooku stood, arms crossed behind his back, his expression neutral but his mind calculating.

"The Clone Wars are nearly upon us," Sidious intoned, his voice a sinister whisper. "Kamino's production is on schedule. The Jedi remain blind. But an unexpected variable has surfaced."

Dooku inclined his head. "You speak of the rogue Force-sensitive?"

Sidious steepled his fingers. "Yes. A young man with raw power, yet untrained. Neither Jedi nor Sith. This... Kyl Solren must be dealt with before the Jedi claim him. Either he joins us, or he is eliminated."

Dooku nodded. "I shall send one of my finest agents. A silent blade."

Sidious smirked. "Ensure he does not fail."

A Stir in the ForceIn the serene halls of the Jedi Temple, Grand Master Yoda sat motionless in meditation. The Force swirled around him, whispering warnings. Visions danced through his mind: a shadow moving through Coruscant, a figure neither dark nor light, standing at the crossroads of destiny.

His green eyes opened, sharp with clarity. He turned toward Mace Windu, who had been silently observing.

"You sense it too," Windu said. It was not a question.

Yoda nodded. "A tremor. A presence unknown, yet powerful. Untrained. A path uncertain, walking between darkness and light."

Ki-Adi-Mundi, sitting nearby, stroked his beard. "A Sith?"

"Perhaps," Yoda murmured. "Or perhaps a Jedi not yet found. Send a seeker, we must. Before the Sith move first."

Kyl's Pursuit of KnowledgeKyl Solren crouched behind a ventilation duct, his breath steady. He had broken into the Coruscant Flight Institute once more, this time to retrieve advanced combat simulations and flight schematics. His droid companion, whom he had named Rix, hovered silently beside him, its optical sensors scanning the room ahead.

"Security systems looped for three minutes," Rix beeped. "Proceed now."

Kyl dashed forward, slipping into the restricted archives. He accessed a terminal, inserting a stolen encryption key. The data flooded in: combat maneuvers, dogfighting techniques, targeting systems. Every skill he lacked, he was determined to gain.

As the download completed, Rix suddenly beeped in alarm. "Unidentified humanoid approaching. No security credentials detected."

Kyl's hand moved to his blaster, but before he could react, a shadow moved at the entrance. A tall figure stepped into the dim light, draped in dark robes. His face was pale, angular, eyes sharp with a cruel intelligence.

"You are full of potential," the stranger said. "But potential without guidance is wasted."

Kyl tensed. "Who are you?"

The man's lips curled into a smirk. "A teacher, if you are willing. A liberator, if you are wise. The Jedi will shackle you. The Republic will use you. But I... I can set you free."

Kyl's grip on his blaster tightened. "You're Sith."

The figure chuckled. "I am many things. More importantly, I see what you could become. The Jedi would have you cower behind rules. But with me... you would wield true power."

Kyl's heart pounded. He knew the Jedi only from fragmented stories, but this man exuded an unmistakable presence—something dark, something dangerous.

"I don't trust you."

The Sith agent sighed. "Trust is irrelevant. Power is not. Let me show you."

A snap-hiss ignited the air. A crimson blade bathed the room in red.

The Duel in the ShadowsKyl reacted instantly, leaping backward as the Sith lunged. The red blade sliced through the console where he had stood moments before, sending sparks cascading into the air. Rix darted out of range, emitting a sharp warning beep.

Kyl drew his blaster and fired, but the Sith deflected the shots with ease, each movement fluid and precise. "Blasters are for the weak. You are more than that."

The Sith struck again, forcing Kyl into a frantic dodge. But something in the air shifted. Kyl could feel it—a pulse in the Force, guiding his movements. His reflexes sharpened, his instincts screamed warnings just in time to avoid the fatal arcs of red light.

"You feel it, don't you?" the Sith taunted. "Let go of your hesitation. Embrace it!"

Kyl scowled. He had no lightsaber. He was outmatched. But that didn't mean he was helpless.

Reaching out with his mind, he focused on a stack of training drones behind the Sith. With a desperate push through the Force, the drones lurched and crashed toward the attacker. The Sith twisted, slashing through the debris mid-air—but that moment of distraction was all Kyl needed.

He leapt forward, slamming into the Sith and sending both of them crashing through a malfunctioning security door. Beyond it lay an open service shaft leading to the institute's lower levels.

The Sith recovered swiftly, snarling. "You fight well for an untrained novice. But raw talent is not enough."

He advanced, red blade raised for a final strike.

Then his foot caught the edge of a loose panel.

The Sith stumbled, arms flailing. For a split second, his face twisted in realization—and then he plummeted into the darkness below.

Kyl exhaled, his heart hammering. The lightsaber clattered to the floor, its crimson blade still humming. He hesitated, then slowly reached down and grasped it. The moment his fingers curled around the hilt, a shiver ran through him. A weapon of power. A weapon of the Sith.

Rix hovered beside him. "Analysis: Immediate extraction recommended. Jedi activity increasing nearby."

Kyl stared down into the abyss where the Sith had fallen. The whispers of the holocron echoed in his mind. Power can be claimed. Or discarded.

With a deep breath, he shut off the saber and clipped it to his belt.

The Jedi's PursuitIn the Jedi Temple, Master Yoda opened his eyes.

"Fell, one has," he murmured. "But risen, another may have."

Mace Windu frowned. "Did the Sith kill him?"

"Killed, the Sith was," Yoda said. "But found, a saber has been."

The Council exchanged glances. Windu's expression hardened. "We must act. If this Force-sensitive has taken a Sith weapon, his path is uncertain. If he falls into darkness, it will be on us."

Yoda nodded. "Summon the seekers. Find him, we must."

Kyl vanished into Coruscant's labyrinthine depths, the stolen saber hidden beneath his cloak. He had survived. He had grown stronger. But in the shadows, two powerful forces now hunted him—one seeking to save him, the other to consume him.

The game had begun.
