Stark Infinity

Chapter 17: Mutant Genes

"The Final Ingredient?" Stark muttered and then asked.

"What is the situation of IRON MAN?"

[IRON MAN is on his way back. He has already sent clips of his encounter with the secret agents of the discovered Hydra Base.]

"The one in Russian?"

[Affirmative.]

"Show me."

A holographic screen rose up and displayed a clip. Within the clip Tony watched as IRON MAN shot multiple missiles from the sky as he covered for Black Widow to infiltrate the hydra base below.

Soon they were able to get in, only to discover that a group of persons were trying to escape, both of them took different routes as IRON MAN used his detection system to 'see' a bunch of perculiar individuals.

"Mutants," Stark noticed immediately.

'Of course Hydra would get its hands on mutants. They might even have powerful mutants in their ranks,' Stark thought.

While he was thinking of this I.R.O.N. M.A.N quickly intercepted the mutant group and fought their attacks alone.

He faced, ice attacks, flame attacks, one mutant in particular even cause his systems to go haywire for a second. But luckily Tony had prepared for the exact situation where he would have to face someone with technopathic powers.

Therefore he had installed anti-technopathic systems in his suits. But since he had yet to face one in reality, he could not tell how effective it was. But from the look of things he seems to have gotten it right.

'Although a lot of improvements can still be made.'

Tony continued watching with interest. He was sure I.R.O.N M.A.N already triumphed over these mutant teenagers who were probably trying to escape from HYDRA's confinement from the looks of things.

[It appears that they may have been experimented on] MARVEL commented.

"That's probably true." Tony agreed and took a sip of his cofee only for him to spit it out later in surprise.

"Prrrh!"

'The hell!'

[These two that just appeared. They are seem very strong]

Tony didn't listen to MARVEL's comment. Right now he was more concerned with the implications of what he was seeing.

'Pietro and Wanda Maximoff?'

'They are being held hostages by HYDRA?'

Being IRON MAN could react, he was struck with a power he couldn't resist and went tumbling from the sky. By the time he got back up, he couldn't find any of the mutants no matter how hard he looked.

'Maybe one of them had teleportation abilities?' Tony speculated, then he asked a very important question.

"Do we have their location?"

[We do.]

MARVEL's short reply caused Tony to smile.

"It appears we might have found our final ingredient," Tony couldn't stop the grin on his face.

The Super Evolution Serum that he had been working on is designed to be taken at specific intervals. It is not a one time use serum rather it is one serum split into different stages.

Like the name implies, it's function is to help him evolve to a higher lifeform with abilities superior to any regular human, even beyond peak humans or low-level base super humans.

The first serum is his foundation, and he wants to be able to acquire the mutant gene from it.

Yes, he had checked and he doesn't have the mutant gene, to his dissapointment. But that's not a problem as he would be getting one soon and maybe the best one yet.

'I will handle this myself. There can be no room for mistakes.'

"M.A.R.V.E.L, deploy the Stealth Squad."

[Right away, Sir.]

Tony activated his Nanotech suit with a mental command.

That's right. He now only needs a metal command to activate his suit. This was one of his latest improvements amongst others. But that was not the only upgrade. Recently he had infiltrated a certain intelligent scientist and got his hands on his research.

Pym Particles.

Pym Particles would play a crucial role in his plans. A very crucial role.

---------------

"So Hydra has a bunch of mutants in their ranks? This is interesting."

"Yeah, if I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it. This was the first time I was seeing a human burst out with such abilities."

"Hey Cap, did fight any mutants back then?"

Steve held his shield firmly and looked serious, "I can't say I did. But there was this one guy that always survives from fatal encounters. I just thought he was lucky but now..."

Peggy looked at him and guessed who he was referring to, "You mean that member of the Howling Commandos that disappeared?"

"Exactly, what was his name again."

"James Howlett, also known as Logan, now codenamed Wolverine is indeed a mutant," Fury walked in at this time.

His words made Steve surprised as he realizes there's still a lot going on that has no idea about.

"Now where the hell is Stark?" Fury furrowed his brows.

Everyone else looked at each other in confusion as no one answered.
