As soon as Feng Mo issued the command, the Storm Fleet entered the stargate generated by the Gale Steed. The Vermilion Bird Fortress, now heavily modified by the Mechanoid Fleet and Pan-Human Alliance, was fortified with an array of defensive weaponry.

In the fortress's control room, Commander Luo Tian of the Mechanoids and Commander Modese of the Interstellar Beastmen studied the Storm Fleet's likely approach to the fortress, observing a holographic display.

"I suspect they'll use their stargate-capable ships to infiltrate the fortress's hangars and create chaos. That's Feng Mo's usual tactic. I've already ordered our fleet to spread out and put all defensive positions on high alert—any sign of an intrusion, and we fire immediately," Modese said, pointing to the hologram.

Luo Tian nodded. Many major factions, including the Mechanoids, had studied the Storm Fleet's capabilities. Modese's assumption was logical—Feng Mo's forces would likely try to exploit their stargate technology. However, their research division hadn't yet devised a method to counter the stargate's technology effectively. The best they could do was to stay vigilant and scatter the fleet to minimize the risk.

Yet Feng Mo had already anticipated their precautions. He understood the risks involved but knew that relying on missile barrages alone would be insufficient against a fortified space fortress. The solution was brute force: overwhelming the fortress with the firepower of T6 warships.

As the Storm Fleet emerged from the stargate above the fortress—well within its defenses—alarms blared throughout the Vermilion Bird Fortress. The defenders, fully alert, turned every weapon toward the fleet and began charging their cannons.

But the Storm Fleet was already prepared. Following Feng Mo's orders, they unleashed a barrage upon the fortress below, aiming to neutralize it through sheer power.

Missiles rained down like a meteor shower, scorching toward the fortress. Feng Mo spared no expense this time: ten T5 Mystic Birds, five T5 Pegasus ships, ten T6 Armored Dragons, five T6 Phoenixes, and a thousand bombers from the Orca and Battle Planet all unleashed their payloads, totaling nearly fifty thousand missiles in this opening salvo—the largest strike the Storm Fleet had ever mounted.

And this was only the first wave. As the missiles descended, every weapon on the Storm Fleet ships—from the Starbreaker Cannons to the main and auxiliary guns—began targeting enemy ships and defensive installations, locking on with automated radar tracking and firing relentlessly.

In mere moments, half of the Vermilion Bird Fortress was engulfed in flames, with the central command area at the heart of the inferno. Alarms blared throughout as explosions rocked the command center.

Luo Tian and Modese exchanged shocked glances—they hadn't expected Feng Mo to have the fortress's exact coordinates. Vermilion Bird was part of the Southern War Zone, which had a hostile relationship with the Storm Alliance. There was no plausible way for Feng Mo to know such precise locations within the fortress.

Unbeknownst to them, the Vermilion Ape employed a T6 dark matter sensor array capable of scanning and mapping the entire structure in detail during a single pass. Feng Mo's advantage was clear: technological superiority.

Although the fortress's command center was heavily shielded with dark matter plating and positioned in a fortified, isolated compartment deep within, the sheer intensity of the bombardment caused structural collapses. The sturdy walls buckled, and debris buried both commanders beneath the ruins.

Meanwhile, the fortress's defenses managed to launch a single salvo before the relentless assault of the Storm Fleet destroyed most of their defensive systems. The incoming fire was dispersed across the Storm Fleet due to Feng Mo's unique combat ability, minimizing immediate casualties.

Unless the enemy's assault was overwhelming enough to annihilate the entire Storm Fleet in one go, his forces would always be able to mount a counteroffensive.

Simultaneously, in the control room of the Storm Alliance flagship positioned just outside the Vermilion Bird's radar range, Ai Er saw the Storm Fleet enter the stargate and issued the next command.

"Storm Alliance Fleet, advance! Radar-target enemy ships and defensive structures with saturation bombardment. Do not conserve energy or ammunition. Seize the Vermilion Bird Fortress as swiftly as possible. Do not waste the opportunity the Commander has created."

"Yes, Commander!" The captains responded with enthusiasm, reinvigorated by Feng Mo's leadership. His presence had become a symbol for the alliance, raising morale with each battle.

The Vermilion Bird Fortress's alarms blared anew as the Storm Alliance Fleet entered its radar range. With both commanders still trapped beneath debris, there was no one to issue coordinated orders. The fleet's other commanders quickly decided to send every fleet except the T6 Mechanoid Fleet to intercept the Alliance's advance.

They would leave the intruding Storm Fleet to the T6 Mechanoid Fleet, hoping

to regain control within the fortress.
