Starsea Fleet: Age of the Lord

Chapter 261: Chapter 261: The Deceptive Move

The announcement of the disbandment of the Federation sparked immense turmoil among the three Southern Empires. Citizens across these territories began proclaiming Feng Mo as their only savior, the sole leader capable of restoring order amid the constant threat of the Star Mech Fleet. These sentiments, spreading like wildfire, were not instigated by Feng Mo or his allies but arose organically among the people—a clear indication of where public support lay.

As Feng Mo launched an assault on the Vermilion Bird Star Fortress, he carried the banner of restoring the Federation's lost territories, and given his immense influence, it was as if righteousness itself was on his side. This ability to command the loyalty of the people gave him a unique advantage over any empire or government.

The three Southern Empires, however, harbored complex feelings toward Feng Mo. Despite the dire situation, Feng Mo chose not to seize their territories immediately. He knew that, in the absence of a force capable of opposing the Storm Alliance, time was on his side, and surrender from the Southern Empires was merely a matter of time.

Meanwhile, in a virtual private conference room, the leaders of the three Southern Empires gathered to discuss their next steps. Though they had the power to chart the course for their empires, they also had to heed the influential voices within their societies, including public sentiment, the nobility, major corporations, and military leaders.

"The Federation has splintered, and with the Southern defense forces decimated by the Star Mechs, independence is no longer an option," began Yu Ting, the Prime Minister of the Tianjin Empire. "Our only realistic choice is to align ourselves with either the Storm Empire, the Heaven's End Empire, or the Human Alliance."

Yu Ting expressed his preference: "If we side with the Human Alliance, the Heaven's End Empire and Storm Empire will attack the Southern territories from both sides. The Heaven's End Empire has already promised that, if we join forces to establish a new coalition with them, the Snow Domain Empire, and the Ross Empire, they'll provide us with resources to rebuild our fleets."

As the dominant force among the three empires, Tianjin's opinion held sway, and its allies followed suit without hesitation.

"I agree with Yu," added Cheng Liang, Prime Minister of the Star River Empire. "Storm Empire may have won over the Vermilion Bird Star System, but they've made no overtures toward us. We should join the Heaven's End Alliance and offer the Vermilion Bird System to Storm Empire as a gesture. We don't want trouble, and perhaps this can pacify them."

And so, with a nod from the Tidal Empire's leader, the three Southern Empires collectively agreed to merge into the Heaven's End Alliance.

"Since it's settled," Yu concluded, "we'll formally announce the Southern Block's integration into the Heaven's End Alliance on the star network."

Cheng Liang, concerned about possible backlash from their citizens, raised a question. "Yu, you know Feng Mo has a knack for stirring public opinion. I worry that once the announcement goes public, we'll face backlash from our citizens who don't fully understand the implications..."

Yu Ting reassured him confidently. "Don't worry. The Heaven's End Empire has already promised us immediate reinforcement. They'll send three T5 fleets to patrol our borders, and that presence alone should deter any rebellion."

On November 1, Federation Year 7504, two major announcements shocked the Federation. First, Heaven's End Empire declared that the prominent Sì family, long rooted in Federation governance, would resume leadership within the new coalition government. The second announcement was more explosive: the three Southern Empires had formally joined the Heaven's End Alliance.

As these announcements rippled through the Federation, many citizens quickly realized that a civil war within the Federation was now inevitable. The Federation was now divided into three major factions: the Storm Alliance, the Heaven's End Alliance, and the Human Alliance. In the eyes of the public, the Storm Alliance led by Feng Mo was the most powerful, followed by the Human Alliance, with the Heaven's End Alliance ranking last.

When Feng Mo read the announcements, he did not react with anger. Instead, he furrowed his brows thoughtfully. Turning to his advisors on the video screen, he asked, "Commander Gu, Yun Jian, do either of you know the history of the Sì family?"

Chu Yunjia appeared unsure, while Gu Jun pondered for a moment before replying, "The Sì family's legacy stretches back millennia. They've held the Federation's highest office multiple times, and their influence runs incredibly deep. To be honest, I'd estimate that the Sì family alone could rival the power of Heaven's End

or even Radiant Glory Empires."
