Chapter 154: Chapter 47: Returning the Favor

High above, the two stood facing each other. The cold wind howled, whipping through their hair and across two vastly different expressions.

One was relaxed and casual, the other solemn and cautious.

"Urashiki, I'm done playing. Since you don't belong to this time, I will be the one to erase you."

Looking into Kamihane's calm, water-like eyes and hearing his nonchalant tone, for some reason, the thought of retreat sprouted in Urashiki's mind for the first time.

But, for the pride of the Ōtsutsuki, he bravely raised his Crimson Fishing Rod.

He tried to open his mouth, but no harsh words came out.

For a fleeting moment, the image of Kamihane before him overlapped with a figure from his memory. That person, bathed in a sea of blood and mountains of corpses, sat upon a high throne of bones, his expression as serene and indifferent as a tyrant. Though it was only for an instant, his heart leaped, nearly jumping out of his chest.

In the past—no, to be precise, in the future—the title associated with that man still cast a great psychological shadow over him!

It was a title that sounded childish and laughable to everyone who heard it, yet only the Ōtsutsuki themselves could not laugh:

"Ōtsutsuki Slaughter Machine."

His body swayed, and a cold sweat beaded on his nose.

Using the "Plow" to travel back, he admitted there was a gamble involved, but it seemed... he had lost the bet...

"No! I haven't lost yet!"

Urashiki swung his fishing rod, his expression savage. "Even your Complete Body Susanoo at full power couldn't do anything to me!"

As if remembering something, a flash of ecstasy leaped into his eyes. "That's right! In this era, your power is ultimately limited. Even if you can defeat me, you can never kill me!"

"Oh, my full power?"

Kamihane slowly raised his gaze, his placid tone tinged with the light laughter of a superior. "Who gave you the delusion that was my full power?"

He tilted his head back slightly, opened his arms, and took a deep breath as if to draw all the air in the world into his lungs, then exhaled softly:

"Eight Gates: Third Gate of Life, open."

As a ripple of wind spread out, visible green steam began to emanate from Kamihane's body. Although his appearance and physique hadn't changed at all, Urashiki's pupils shrank.

He... was different.

Kamihane took a single step in front of him. In the next instant, his figure vanished, replaced by a nearly imperceptible shriek in Urashiki's ear—the sound of air being torn apart.

"What!"

Urashiki hastily leaned back and retreated. The blade's light flashed past horizontally. Although he dodged the slash in time, a chill still ran down his neck, followed by an itch.

He subconsciously reached up to touch it, and his fingertips were instantly stained with warm, red blood.

But he had no time to look closely, because Kamihane's next slash followed immediately. The pale green blade, like a heavenly aurora, descended in a fierce vertical chop that made his hair stand on end.

With a hiss, though he narrowly avoided it, his wide sleeve was sliced in two.

Kamihane moved like a phantom, giving Urashiki no time to react. One moment he was still in shock at Kamihane's speed, and the next, the Mikagami was already slashing before his eyes.

With no way to dodge, a look of horrified disbelief frozen on his face, Urashiki had no choice but to block with his Crimson Fishing Rod.

Clang!

A torrential force traveled down the blade and rod into Urashiki's hands. A sharp crack echoed from his wrists, and the instantaneous, searing pain almost made him drop his fishing rod!

The pain caused him to pause for a fraction of a second.

Kamihane's eyes lit up. He instantly unleashed a hundred slashes, countless afterimages flashing through the air, leaving behind streaks of green light. Sparks flew like a waterfall as a whirlwind of blade light swept past!

Swish-swish-swish!

Urashiki's body became like a leaf in the ocean, battered and on the verge of collapse amidst the stormy onslaught. Lines of blood continuously shot from his body. The impact from the final slash bent the fishing rod to a 90-degree angle, sending Urashiki's body flying, breaking the sound barrier, and slamming him hard into the island below.

Kamihane stood suspended in the air, glancing at the softly humming "Frostfall's Resolve." Despite the long clash with Urashiki's Crimson Fishing Rod, its edge remained sharp, not the least bit curled. The long, slender blade still flowed with a bone-chilling light.

"As expected of Meteoric Iron..." Kamihane smiled faintly. "Cutting down celestial beings... it really does come naturally."

From a deep crater on the island, a dust-covered Urashiki climbed out. Although his injuries were healing rapidly, his expression was one of utter bewilderment.

It wasn't just shock from Kamihane's sudden burst of terrifying speed, but... he found that his "rewind" ability seemed to have failed.

'What's going on? My divine technique... it's actually failing!'

High in the air, Kamihane stepped forward. His body flickered and instantly appeared above Urashiki, the sonic boom kicking up a gale like an explosion.

Bang!

A powerful, heavy kick landed on Urashiki's chest. Like a falling chisel, Kamihane slammed him back into the pit.

"Are you confused? You shouldn't be." Kamihane looked down on him, his gaze tinged with mockery. "You should know that my dōjutsu can also rewind time. Are you the only one allowed to overwrite my techniques?"

"That... that's impossible!" Urashiki roared. "How could a mere Sharingan possibly compare to my divine technique!"

Kamihane pressed down with his foot. Urashiki's sternum immediately emitted a strained crack. He couldn't stop the sweet taste rising in his throat and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

In truth, Urashiki's divine technique could silently turn back time for the entire world, erasing everyone's emotions and memories, leaving no trace. Although its range was only a short 10 seconds, its strength lay in its infinite uses.

For a selected segment of time, as long as his lifespan permitted, he could "rewind" it indefinitely.

But under the adaptation of "Makora," Kamihane had become extremely sensitive to minute changes in the flow of time, able to instantly sense the moment time was affected.

Applying the Relativity Principle, whenever Urashiki activated his divine technique, Kamihane would use "Amaterasu" to rewind Urashiki to the same moment. With their Temporal Synchronization, the future remained unchanged.

This was a trick he had learned from Urashiki himself—"Returning the Favor."

Urashiki had been right about one thing, and Kamihane didn't deny it: his dōjutsu was indeed slightly inferior to a divine technique that could manipulate the entire world. But Kamihane didn't need to rewind the whole world; selecting only Urashiki was enough.

"Still don't get it?"

Kamihane raised his Mikagami, its tip pointing directly at Urashiki's brow. "Your ability to reverse time and space has been sealed by me. The price is that I must constantly rewind you, meaning I can't restore my own state either."

"That means..."

He lunged, stabbing fiercely with his blade!

"Now... it's time for a clash of pure grit!"

A flash of blade light slammed into the earth, sending countless plumes of dust, dyed an emerald green by the light, rising from the torn fissure.

"Using that trick again, are we..."

Kamihane looked back, his clear, crimson pupils reflecting Urashiki's figure.

"Let's just see how many times you can use it!"
