Start with the Mangekyo Sharingan: Follow Lord Madara out of Konoha

Chapter 163: Chapter 56: Visitor

Knock, knock, knock."

In the dead of night, in the silent room, came a knock on the door.

In the dimly lit room, Uchiha Nian immediately opened his eyes.

He quickly closed the scroll, stowed it close to his body, then rolled out of bed, throwing three explosive tags toward the ceiling, corners, and under the table before slowing his pace and tiptoeing to the door, sticking close to the wall.

The only person who would visit him so late at night was Uchiha Kirito, but now Kirito had been taken away by the senior, so the visitor outside the door… was likely an enemy!

He leaned against the door warily, clutching a kunai, like a wolf ready to pounce, ready to deliver a fatal blow at any moment.

To be safe, he didn't speak or turn on the lights. His red eyes opened in the darkness.

"Knock, knock, knock."

The knocking came again, urgent but not forceful, a hint of guilt in the movements. It seemed the visitor didn't want the knocking to disturb the neighbors, or perhaps they didn't want their late-night visit to be discovered.

Nian frowned and thought, tiptoeing back to the bedroom.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

This time, the force was a little greater. The visitor seemed a bit anxious but still didn't speak.

Finally, a sleepy voice came from the room.

"Yawn—who is it so late?"

The visitor immediately replied in a whisper, "Hell Valley, don't turn on the light."

Inside the room, Nian paused. Though it was a whisper, there was a hint of sweetness and hidden crispness in the voice. It was a girl's voice.

'Hell Valley?'

The familiar words instantly stirred his thoughts. A year ago, the Chinoike Clan incident, he had gone to Hell Valley on a mission. Excluding Chiru, there was only one girl from that mission.

Tsunade?

After a moment of silence, Nian pressed the door handle, and the door slowly opened a crack.

The moonlight was cool as water, pouring into the room through the crack, bathing the entire living room in a pale light. Besides the moonlight, there was a bright face peeking inside like a thief.

"Tsunade? What's wrong?"

"Stop talking, let me in first." Tsunade looked around warily, her smooth forehead dotted with fine beads of sweat.

Nian actively opened the door for her, and Tsunade immediately slipped into the room. With a soft click, the door closed completely.

"Huff…" Tsunade finally breathed a sigh of relief, but immediately realized something was wrong, because Nian's home was too dark. All the windows were tightly closed.

"Is your house always this dark?" She asked curiously.

Nian nodded expressionlessly. "Yeah, a friend just died, and I don't feel very safe."

"Uh…" Tsunade felt a bit ashamed and apologized. "I'm also very sorry about Kirito."

"It's nothing. More importantly, you've come to my house so late…" Nian asked tentatively, "You shouldn't be here to sleep, right?"

"Pfft, pfft, pfft!" Tsunade's face reddened, and she couldn't help but raise her voice. "I thought you were a quiet person, but you're more perverted than that Jiraiya!"

Nian didn't speak, still staring at her.

Tsunade waved her hand grandly and sighed. "Forget it, I'm here to give you information."

"Information?" Nian blinked with confusion.

"Before that, I have a question. Of course, you don't have to answer if you feel offended." Tsunade spoke quickly. "You awakened Wood Release last year but didn't want the village to know. I can understand why, but why did you actively reveal it today?"

"There's nothing offensive about that." Nian gave an answer in the form of a question. "Power is born to protect. If it can't be used to protect companions, what's the point of hiding it?"

"Okay." Tsunade nodded, hesitated for a moment, and said softly, "Actually… I seem to know the origins of your Wood Release, and who your father is?"

"What!?" Nian's eyes widened slightly, and his heart skipped a beat.

"It's like this…" Tsunade chose her words carefully and said, "Ever since I saw your Wood Release last year, I had the idea to investigate, but whether it was the library or the secret rooms of the Hokage Building, or even the Senju history, I found nothing about Uchiha with Wood Release…"

Nian remained silent, waiting for her to continue.

"Until I asked my grandmother, and she vaguely mentioned that during the Ninja War, she was not the commander on the front lines." Tsunade frowned. "Which confused me a bit. At the time, the village's Second Hokage was seriously injured by the evil Uchiha Kamihane and lost his fighting power. Only my grandmother was the strongest, so who had the strength to command the front lines?"

"I tried to continue asking, but my grandmother wouldn't reveal anything."

"Following this line of thought, I went to the Second Hokage's old residence to check and found… a photo and a diary."

Saying this, she pulled out a photo and a thin diary from the inner pocket of her chest.

Nian didn't take it, but turned to look at the bedroom.

Tsunade was a bit confused, until the bedroom door opened, and a second Uchiha Nian walked out, carrying a small lamp. The first Nian who had been talking to Tsunade scattered into white smoke.

"S-Shadow Clone…?"

Nian nodded. "I wasn't sure if you were friend or foe, just taking necessary precautions."

He took the photo, and with the help of the light, he could see that it was a group photo. The leader was the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, his face clearer than on the Hokage Rock, and behind him were three teenagers.

They were the current Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, the Konoha elder Shimura Danzo, and…

Nian's pupils constricted. The last teenager in the photo was clearly almost identical to him!

Black curly hair, delicate features, fair skin, lazy eyes…

"This… This is…"

His fingertips trembled slightly, and intense emotions overwhelmed him, his eyes full of disbelief.

Then Tsunade said the name:

"His name is Uchiha Kagami, and he was one of the Second Hokage's direct disciples."

"Boom!"

It was as if lightning struck his mind, burning him from the inside out. Nian opened his mouth, as if someone put an egg, he wouldn't even notice.

"Just based on appearance, it may not be possible to say for sure, but until I read this diary, I'm sure that the Uchiha Kagami, is likely your father."

Nian took the diary in a daze and mechanically flipped through a few pages, his face gloomy, and slumped to the ground, filled with emotion.

The diary recorded the Hashirama cell transplant!

"September 25th, after comparing samples, there are certain similarities and differences between the Hashirama cell and Uchiha Kagami. Key is the mixing ratio of the reagents…

"September 27th, the experiment continues to fail. The key is the subtle error in the ratio of the reagents…

"October 2nd, according to the monitoring results, the experimental body's physiological reaction meets expectations. The ratio data of the Guyaro cell has been retained. Thanks to Kagami's Mangekyō, a preliminary analysis can be made, and the fusion experiment can enter the next stage…"

Although the words were concise, only recording the progress of the experiment, the name of the transplant target was clearly recorded throughout:

"Uchiha Kagami."
