Starting from One Piece with the Rinnegan

Chapter 106: Chapter 106: I'm Done Talking...

The intimidation had served its purpose. Kaito had no intention of wasting more words on these people. He called over Kalifa and Ain, then casually headed toward the headquarters' main hall.

The others looked at one another, unsure what to do. In the end, it was Mihawk who moved first, silently following after Kaito. The rest didn't linger either and soon left the port behind one after another.

...

Inside the conference hall, Kaito walked straight to the head of the table and sat down, crossing one leg over the other as he waited for the Shichibukai to take their seats.

Kalifa and Ain stood on either side of him. Kaito wasn't really in the mood for that today—letting the Shichibukai sit while the two of them stood felt off to him.

So he simply pulled them both to sit with him in his seat. After all, the chair at the head was spacious enough; three people could sit there comfortably.

Kalifa and Ain looked a bit embarrassed, but under Kaito's insistence, they each reluctantly sat on either side of him.

When the Shichibukai walked in and saw this scene, the corners of their mouths twitched instinctively. Doflamingo didn't seem to mind—he was used to sitting like that himself.

Momonga didn't even acknowledge it. What Admiral doesn't have some eccentric hobbies?

Once everyone was seated, Kaito began tapping his fingers lightly against the tabletop. The others sat obediently in silence. Since Kaito wasn't saying anything, no one wanted to be the first to speak out.

After a while, Kaito's low voice echoed through the hall.

"From the moment you joined the Shichibukai, you should have understood your responsibilities. You didn't think you got the title of 'legal pirate' for nothing... did you?"

The Shichibukai all nodded silently, though their expressions showed clear disinterest.

Of course they knew what Kaito was saying—knowing it was one thing, actually doing it was another.

Even during the War later on, when the World Government really needed their strength, most of them just phoned it in—they never gave it their all.

Kaito swept his gaze across the group, fully aware of what they were thinking. For them, being part of the Shichibukai was little more than a title. They still did whatever they wanted in their day-to-day lives.

Aside from honest types like Jinbe and Mihawk, some of them had ambitions far beyond what the Government had allowed—some even schemed to take over entire countries.

Kaito fully intended to abolish the Shichibukai system. But that would require the right timing. Until then, the system had to remain in place.

However, he was no longer going to let these people live in comfort. It was time to knock them down a peg and remind them that taking benefits meant they had responsibilities.

With that in mind, Kaito said:

"Starting this month, each of you is required to eliminate at least four pirate crews every month. Among them, at least one captain must have a bounty of no less than 80 million Belly. If you can't manage that—quit the Shichibukai."

Don't underestimate a bounty of 80 million Belly. This wasn't the inflated bounty era where everyone had a nine-digit price on their head.

For context, even Crocodile's bounty was only 81 million Belly before he joined the Shichibukai—granted, that number clearly underestimated his real strength.

Still, the point stood: pirates with bounties above 80 million were far from common at this point in time.

Hearing Kaito's demand, the Shichibukai all frowned. That hadn't been part of the original deal when they joined.

Taking out a few pirate crews was easy enough, but this would intensify their conflict with the rest of the pirate world.

They'd be more deeply tied to the Marines than ever. And the moment they lost their Shichibukai status, they'd become public enemies.

But with Doflamingo already showing submission, no one else dared speak up. The room grew heavy with tension.

A bead of sweat rolled down Momonga's forehead. Sengoku never said anything about this. Kaito was lighting a match next to a pile of powder kegs!

Kaito, meanwhile, sat there like nothing had happened, as if he hadn't just laid down a bombshell.

Seeing that the others still hadn't responded, Kaito grew impatient. His tone turned cold.

"Alright. I've said my piece. Who agrees? Who objects?"

This time, Moria couldn't hold back. He usually holed up in his gloomy lair working on zombie experiments—rarely seen, and he disliked traveling.

He finally spoke.

"Shishishishi… Vice Admiral Shikiryū, this doesn't seem to match the agreement we had before. We..."

Buzz!

A terrifying gravitational force suddenly yanked Moria from his chair, dragging him toward Kaito. Just as he reached the center of the table, an explosive repulsion blasted him backwards—slamming his entire body into the wall.

It all happened in a flash. Aside from Mihawk, none of the Shichibukai even had time to react before Moria was gone from his seat.

Doflamingo's face turned ashen. No one here was more familiar with that move than he was.

Back on Minion Island, he'd been completely helpless against that exact technique. Seeing it again, his body ached just remembering it.

Thanks to his many information channels, Doflamingo already knew that power came from Kaito's eyes.

He couldn't help but glance at Kaito's Rinnegan—only to be caught immediately.

Kaito shot him a cold glance.

That one look felt like a lightning strike. Doflamingo instantly dropped his gaze, not daring to make another move. He was genuinely terrified of Kaito now.

Moria struggled out from beneath the pile of bricks, his face pale as he stared at Kaito. He had no idea what kind of power that was, only that he couldn't resist it at all.

In the next instant, Kaito's figure vanished. He reappeared directly in front of the disheveled Moria, looming over him coldly.

"Do you have any other objections?"

Moria trembled, shaking his oversized head violently—no, he had no objections at all.

With Moria dealt with, it was Hancock who began to lose her temper.

From the moment she arrived at headquarters, she'd felt constantly threatened by Kaito.

Even if his strength was undeniably terrifying, being pushed around by a man like this was something her pride simply couldn't tolerate.

Suddenly, she stood up and shouted angrily:

"Do you think I came here just to listen to your outrageous demands?!"

Kaito didn't even look back.

"Ah. What else would you be here for?"

"You bastard! Perfume Femur!"

Kaito's indifference pushed Hancock past her limit. She leapt into the air, launching a high kick directly at his back.

Smack! Her ankle was caught midair—by Kaito's hand.

Hancock's expression shifted in disbelief.

"You... how...?"

"You're wondering why my hand isn't turning to stone, right?"

Kaito turned his head slowly, eyes cold as he stared at her.

Hancock's pose was awkward—her leg raised high, ankle caught in Kaito's grasp. From his perspective, nothing was hidden.

Luckily, she was wearing a long cheongsam today.

(T/N: a straight, tight silk dress with a high neck and a slit (= cut) in the side of the skirt, in a style that became popular in China)

Still, Kaito was the only one who got to see anything.

Under his unblinking gaze, Hancock's cheeks flushed crimson.

"Let go of me!" she shouted.

Kaito had no intention of staying locked in this pose. He could already feel Kalifa and Ain's eyes starting to shift toward something... less than friendly.

He released her.

Hancock immediately retracted her long leg, retreating several steps to a safe distance. She glared at Kaito with both anger and embarrassment.

Meeting her gaze, Kaito's expression didn't change. His lips moved—but he made no sound.

Hancock's face turned even redder.

She understood what he'd mouthed.

"So... you are wearing something underneath, huh?"
