Chapter 143: Hello, I'm Here to Kill Someone_3
Thinking this, a slight smile appeared on the corner of Maria Maid Chief's lips.
At this moment, the entire Bartleion Mansion was occupied by no one else but an unconscious Marquis Bartleion and Eleanor alone.
The eldest son had long since fallen on the battlefield, and although the whereabouts of his widow were currently unknown, the child she was carrying held the legitimate lineage to inherit the Bartleion title, ultimately posing a potential threat.
The Mosgla family was probably already dispatching people to search for her.
But Glostin was far too vast; it would take more than a moment to find anything.

Fortunately, that was not for Maria Maid Chief to worry about.
Her duty was to keep the mansion under her control at all times, waiting for orders from the Mosgla family.
With these thoughts in mind, Maria Maid Chief suddenly stopped in her tracks, turned to the maid accompanying her, and said softly, "What news is there of the second son who was banished to the frontier?"
"None, he is most likely dead."
Hearing this, Maria Maid Chief nodded her head.
A few moments later, a servant came to inquire, "Chief Maid, dinner is prepared, would you like to dine now?"
"Yes."
Minutes later, she appeared alone at the table in the dining hall of Bartleion Mansion, taking her seat at the head.
Gazing at the food served one course after another, in the light of the candles, she felt as though she held great power, almost as if she had truly become the master of the family.
And even if she were not, so what?
Even the most favored daughter of the Bartleion family had to bow before her.
This was the thrill of power.
Maria Maid Chief thought pleasantly.
Just as she was beginning to indulge in the delightful ambiance of the evening meal, a sudden turn of events occurred.
"Bang!"
Accompanied by a loud noise, the firmly closed gates of the mansion were suddenly kicked open.
She instinctively stood up, left the dining hall, and looked towards the entrance, following the sound.
There, a group of rough-looking servants with borderland blood surged into Bartleion Mansion, forming a lane in the hall as if they awaited the arrival of some highly esteemed dignitary.
"Who are you? This is Bartleion territory. Without the Family Head's permission, you have no right to barge in!"
While signaling her subordinates with her eyes to inform the estate's guards to come and resolve the situation, Maria Maid Chief spoke up with the authority of a superior.
However, the newcomers paid her no heed, not even sparing her a blink.
Shortly after, a deliberate pace of footsteps sounded at the doorway.
It seemed that the main character had arrived.
Maria Maid Chief frowned, curious about who the short-sighted person daring to offend the Mosgla family, which was at its zenith in the Imperial Capital, could be.
Whoever it was, she would surely make them regret it.
With this thought, she looked up.
But then, Maria Maid Chief's expression froze on her face.
The youth with black hair and blue eyes entered against the light. Despite a smile on his face, there was no hint of mirth in his eyes, and he seemed to carry an intense storm around him.
"Is... it you?"
Her voice was filled with astonishment.
After all, she had just recently heard from the servants that this second son of the Bartleion family was probably dead on the frontier.
But now, in such a short time, he had reappeared before her, alive.
It all felt like a dream.
Remembering the grievances between him and the Mosgla family, it all seemed to stem from the disputes involving Miss Irina and this second son.
For some reason, looking at his demeanor, Maria Maid Chief suddenly had a bad feeling.
"After more than a year, there seem to be many new faces at home," the youth said, brushing dust off his shoulder. "Hello everyone, my name is Lynn Bartleion, the sole lawful and legitimate heir of this house. You may call me Master, or you may address me as Young Master Lynn."
Trouble had arrived.
Maria Maid Chief suppressed the turmoil in her mind and took a deep breath.
"I apologize, but I have not received any notice about Young Master Lynn's return home," she said matter-of-factly. "So before entering, please present something to verify your identity, to avoid any unnecessary misunderstandings."
It wasn't out of malign intent. She was merely stalling for time, having already notified the Mosgla family, waiting for someone to come.
She had no authority to deal with Lynn herself, so this was her only option.
However, Maria Maid Chief seemed to have underestimated one thing.
Upon hearing her words, Lynn sighed for some reason.
"Being polite before resorting to force really isn't my style... forget these formalities," he shook his head, gesturing to the borderland servants, "kill them... no, capture them first."
"Then help me inquire about Eleanor's whereabouts."
