'Am I dead?.. Where am I..'

*Plink... Plop...*

I woke up at the entrance of an unfamiliar cave, hearing the sounds of water dripping echoing throughout the cave quietly. Next to me, leaning against the cave wall, was a female cadet with long brown hair who seemed to be sleeping. My body ached from the previous battle, but it wasn't too bad, so I managed to stand up from the damp cave floor.

As I stood up, the female cadet sleepily opened her dark gray eyes. She looked at me with a serious expression, I scratched the back of my head as she stared at me. "Thanks for bringing me to a safe spot. You're the one who brought me here, right?"

The female cadet simply nodded and then spoke to me with a slightly serious and cold tone, "Hey Kim Taejune, do you want to team up?"

I stood there in confusion about how she knew my name for a moment until I remembered that all cadet uniforms contained a name tag with that cadet's name, I quickly read the name tag on her uniform, 'Yoon Harin.'

'I should accept to team up with her, I do owe her..'

I hesitantly spoke to Yoon Harin, "Alright, I'll team up with you, but first, can you take me back to where you found me?"

Yoon Harin stared at me for a moment before sighing, "Fine, but after you're going to have to help me do something later.. "

"Alright?..."

Yoon Harin stood up and left the cave and I followed her as she went east, a few minutes of walking and killing a few common calamities later we made it to a barren field of burnt trees and grass, weapons used in my previous battle were across the entire area, yet the corpses of the calamities I had fought were gone, most likely the holograms had disintegrated.

Yoon Harin watched me as I headed south. She discreetly followed as we reached a small abandoned base minutes later, which used to have the remaining 8 members of my group, the makeshift tents were still set up, yet no one was inside, any traces of my allies were gone, I sighed, trying not to think of the worst, before leaving the empty camp with Yoon Harin trailing behind me.

'There's still a possibility that they aren't eliminated... Hopefully, they are fine...'

As we arrived back at the barren field I picked up Magnus from the ground, I looked back at Yoon Harin to ask her what she wanted help with but suddenly a screen appeared in front of me and Yoon Harin.

[The first wave has finished]

[The second wave has begun:]

[Time limit: 4 hours]

[Enemies Remaining: 14000]

[Cadets Remaining: 13800]

'Oh, great...'

I looked at Yoon Harin trying to read her expression but couldn't, she glanced at her own system for a moment and then looked at me, "Hey, so are you done here?"

"Yeah... So what did you need help with?"

Yoon Harin looked at me coldly, "We're gonna go find a calamity."

"What do you mean, like a specific one or.."

Yoon Harin nodded, "Yeah, just trust me on this and follow me.."

"Okay?..."

A shiver went down my spine as I said that, 'What did I get myself into this time?..'

Yoon Harin started going east and I hesitantly followed behind, for a while as we walked past the massive trees of the jungle, there were no calamities as we went in fact it was strange that any hadn't shown up yet.

*Swshh... shhh...*

we were in were the little light that shined through the trees, the lack of any sounds of any type of animal or calamity made the place made me uncomfortable, my bad feeling from before continued to get worse as we continued.

*Fooo~*

Soon we began hearing a flute In the distance, as Yoon Harin and I got closer to the sound we finally saw an opening between the trees after so long, as we headed toward it I noticed, sitting on a rock ahead was a white-furred, "wolf-headed" man wearing fur and leather clothing playing a wooden flute. Suddenly the salvation system gave me a screen I hadn't seen before as we arrived at the opening.

[Mission: Save the major calamity, Eldrin the "false" king of wolves.]

[Reward: Blessing + ??? ]

'I did say I wanted to be a hero that saves everyone.. no matter if they are weak or not that includes calamities as well.. If they want to be saved... I will save them.. that was a part of my dream.'
