Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Strange Kraken (2)
[Third Person's PoV]
The Kraken let out a deafening shriek, an unnatural sound that resonated with the force of a magical sonic attack. The sheer intensity of it sent shockwaves through the water, disorienting those nearby. Luck grimaced, clutching his ears, yet the wide grin on his face refused to fade.
He shook his head sharply, clearing the haze clouding his senses. Releasing his grip on the severed tongue, he kicked off the water's surface with an electrifying burst of speed, his body a blur of motion.
The Kraken glared at him with its cold, alien eyes, its hatred palpable. Massive tentacles thrashed through the water with incredible force, sending currents surging in every direction. But Luck was too fast. The tentacles swept and whipped in vain, tearing through the water as they chased him, yet failing to catch him.
Luck darted through the currents like a thunderbolt, his movements erratic and unpredictable, zigzagging through the Kraken's frenzied assault. Even as the water was charged with electricity from his magic, the beast seemed unaffected, its monstrous resilience unwavering.
The speed at which the Kraken swung its colossal limbs was nearly impossible to follow. Tentacles blurred like whips, smashing through coral and pulverizing the vibrant underwater structures into rubble.
Stephen, observing the chaos from within the protective cradle of magic Noelle had formed, realized the danger closing in. Rapidly, he began moving his hands in intricate patterns, murmuring an incantation under his breath. "By the Shade of the Seraphim, I conjure this shield to safeguard us from our foe."
A luminous barrier materialized in front of them.
[Arcane Magic: Shield of Seraphim]
The Kraken's tentacles slammed into the layered barriers with terrifying force. The impact sent ripples of energy through the shields, but they held firm, protecting the group from being scattered by the monster's strikes.
Meanwhile, Luck maneuvered through the writhing mass of tentacles with reckless glee, electricity crackling around his gauntleted fists. A glowing orb of lightning began to form in his hand, growing larger with each passing moment.

With a wild grin, Luck thrust his hand forward, releasing the sphere. It tore through the water like a meteor, slicing cleanly through the Kraken's tentacles. Severed limbs fell to the ocean floor, writhing violently even in their detached state.
"SCREEEEEEEECH!!" The Kraken screamed, its cries echoing through the ocean. It flailed its remaining tentacles wildly, thrashing in pain and fury.
Luck opened his mouth to laugh, only for bubbles to escape, reminding him of his submerged state. *"Whoops,"* he muttered through their telepathic link, a sheepish chuckle audible in his tone.
The beast suddenly began to glow with an eerie, murky green light. To the group's astonishment, its severed tentacles regenerated rapidly, new limbs sprouting and elongating back to their full size.
Vanessa gasped, her fingers pulling instinctively on her magical threads, attempting to yank Luck out of harm's way. But the Kraken, now brimming with renewed magical power, was faster. With a devastating swipe, it swatted Luck out of the water, smashing him into the seabed.
Luck coughed violently, blood spilling into the water and rising in crimson bubbles. The Kraken seized him by the torso, whipping him through the water like a ragdoll.
"LUCK!" the others shouted in unison, panic etched into their faces.
Despite the beating, Luck's laughter echoed in Stephen's mind through the telepathic link. His voice brimmed with exhilaration.
*"This is amazing!"* he exclaimed, unfazed by the pain.
Grinning through the assault, Luck ignited his lightning claws, sharpening them into deadly blades. With a swift motion, he slashed at the tentacle gripping him, severing it cleanly. Both combatants vanished in a flurry of motion, leaving trails of disturbed water behind them.
Stephen, Asta, and Yami tracked their movements using their ki-sensing abilities. To the others, the combat was a chaotic blur, punctuated by the occasional severed tentacle sinking to the ocean floor.
Luck darted back and forth, his attacks relentless. But even he felt the strain, his movements slowing as his oxygen supply dwindled. His cheeks puffed as he tried to conserve what little air remained.
"Luck, you're running out of air. We're pulling you back," Stephen warned through the link.
"Just one more move!" Luck replied, determination lacing his voice.
Electricity surged around him, intensifying until it radiated a blinding blue light. With a roar, he launched himself toward the Kraken's head, piercing through its defenses and planting his claws against its monstrous face.
[Lightning Magic: One Million Volt Discharge]
Luck unleashed the full force of his power. The Kraken let out a final, ear-piercing scream as electricity coursed through its body, illuminating its skeletal structure in stark flashes like an underwater X-ray.
Vanessa's threads yanked Luck back through the barrier Stephen had created, allowing him to collapse safely inside their protective cradle as he landed at their feet.
The others watched as Luck, battered and bleeding, coughed up water before breaking into a fit of laughter.
"Hahaha! That was fun! I want to do it again!" he said, grinning despite the blood running from his arms and face.
"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" everyone shouted in unison, their voices a mix of exasperation and disbelief.
Luck tilted his head, genuinely confused. "Isn't that obvious by now?"
Stephen, shaking his head, knelt beside Luck and placed a glowing hand over his wounds. "Let someone else have a go," he said as his healing magic began to close the gashes. Meanwhile, Charmy produced food from seemingly nowhere, thrusting it toward Luck to replenish his drained magic.
While Stephen worked, the group's attention returned to the Kraken. Its massive form floated eerily in the water, scorched and battered, but far from defeated. The faint green glow that had healed it earlier now intensified, spreading like an emerald fire over its body. Before their eyes, its wounds began to close, tentacles regrew, and the beast stirred back to life.
"It's back on its feet like nothing happened!" Magna exclaimed, his voice trembling with disbelief.
"The regeneration of that magic beast is insane," Yami agreed, arms crossed as he narrowed his eyes at the creature. "I've seen plenty of magic beasts in my time, but this one's on a whole other level."
Stephen turned to Asta, a smirk creeping across his face. "What do you say? Want to take it down together?"
Asta grinned back, summoning his swords from his grimoire. "Heh, is that even a question?"
Stephen's cloak went and draped itself off his shoulders and went and rested on Noelle's. While Nero went and landed on Vanessa's shoulders.
Stephen looked towards his cloak and scoffed, "Traitor"
It then pointed its end tip towards Nero repeatedly as if to say 'Well what about her?'
"She needs to breathe, you don't. You just don't want to get wet. Hence why you're the traitor" Stephen retorted.
The cloak then flapped its end tip towards him as if to wave him off, Stephen looked taken aback and offended, "Don't you go giving me attitude Mr., and what's your like with Noelle anyways? You always seem to go to her for some reason"
The others looked at the interaction with odd looks. Meanwhile Noelle beamed proudly, "It can't be helped it if he seems to like me more than you"
Stephen rolled his eyes as he said, "He only likes you because you bathed and washed him once. Don't let it go to your head."
"Uhh, Stephen?" Asta called out with an unsure tone as he clashed his two swords in his hands.
"Hm? Oh right sorry" Stephen said, snapping back to attention. He extended his hand, and a telepathic link formed between himself, Asta, and Vanessa. Vanessa tethering them both using her velvet string.
Stephen's hands glowed as he summoned two golden Tao mandalas around his fists. "Ready, Asta?"
"As I'll ever be!" Asta shouted, crossing his swords in front of him.
Stephen glanced back at the barrier. With a sharp motion, he opened a small gap, just enough for them to slip through. Both took a deep breath and launched themselves forward.
The moment they passed the barrier, Stephen conjured a massive magic circle beneath them, boosting their speed exponentially. Asta shot forward in a blur, cleaving through one of the Kraken's tentacles with a single swing. Stephen followed close behind, summoning a colossal magical saw that tore through another.
