STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Chapter 183: Injecting the catalyst

Underground Passage:

Not long after, Jeremy reached the underground passage. The warehouse guards received a message. They were going to release the next set of rat beasts into the tunnel.

It didn't take long for the same patrol guards to return to the warehouse. They entered the warehouse and waited for the staff to arrive.

The staff were the ones who injected the catalyst into the rat beasts before releasing them into the underground passage.

A short while later,

A middle-aged man in his fifties arrived. Unlike the others, he was wearing a white lab coat. On the lab coat pocket, the company name was written.

It's called Goldcorp. If Jeremy were to be here, he would be shocked to the core. This was the same organization that was causing disturbances near the City C wilderness.

The middle-aged man looked at the guard before arriving at his desk. Then he saw a box and removed the cover. The next second, he was stunned.

Because there was no catalyst bottle. He remembered placing it here. It's impossible for him to forget that.

His eyes turned cold, and then he looked towards the guards.

"The Red Catalyst is missing. Did you guys take it?" he asked.

Hearing that, the faces of the guards changed. They argued that they had been monitoring the warehouse. They never left the place.

If the lab researcher wanted, he could check them, but the middle-aged man was unwilling because he knew these people wouldn't dare to do it unless they wanted to die.

"Did I forget something?" the middle-aged man asked himself.

It's impossible for the bottle to disappear on its own. Someone else has taken it. But he doesn't know who it is.

If he learned that the red catalyst was taken by an outsider, he would be petrified on the spot. He thought someone of his rank must have come to the warehouse.

Buzz!

All of a sudden, he received a call. Seeing that it was the boss calling, he answered the call. He didn't tell the boss about the missing catalyst; otherwise, he would be severely punished.

The catalyst was made from different ingredients. These ingredients varied from plant-type treasures to other natural treasures.

They had also added drops of researched high tier beast blood into it to make it more violent.

Because of this, the rat beasts injected with the catalyst were evolving quickly.

The boss ordered him to release the next batch right away, so he didn't have time to think about the missing red catalyst.

After ending the call, he stood up. Fortunately, he had some spare bottles. He took the red bottle out and went to administer the rat beasts.

The caged beasts ranged from Tier-1 to Tier-2. The Tier-1 beasts would become Tier-2 beasts after the injection. Similarly, the Tier-2 beasts would become Tier-3.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night was walking back to the original site at a fast pace. He didn't want to damage the underground passage with any disturbance, so he was careful while moving.

Screech!

He heard a screeching sound from ahead. Hearing that, his expression changed drastically. While returning, he didn't want any big fight. He had uncovered a great secret.

If the people behind the warehouse found out anything, then his life would become troublesome.

A good idea came to his mind.

He had bought odor from the store. The scent was supposed to repel other beasts. He realized this now and took the product out.

He then sprayed the disgusting smell on himself. After spraying, he placed the odor bottle back into his storage ring.

"Damn it," Jeremy uttered with great difficulty.

Because the smell was stomach-churning. Even he was feeling nauseated. It was normal for any beast to be repelled by this smell.

Cough!

He let out a cough before continuing to walk. He had expected the beasts to come, but the repelling odor was working now.

Seeing the effects, he sighed in relief. At least his spent money was worth it; it was not a waste.

Meanwhile,

The guards brought the cages to the sinkhole that connected to the underground passage. The rat beasts inside the cages were going crazy.

The guards were Tier-3 Beast Tamers, so they were not worried about the rat beasts attacking them because they had experience handling them.

Even if some beasts attacked them, they had permission to kill the beasts.

Screech!

One of the guards first released the Tier-2 rat beasts, which evolved from Tier-1 before the catalyst injection.

Swoosh!

One after another, the rat beasts dove down the sinkhole, their eyes filled with murderous intent. The rat beasts immediately needed food.

They would kill and eat any living thing now. When more than 20 caged rat beasts were released, the second guard began to release the Tier-3 rat beasts.

The Tier-3 rat beasts posed a certain danger to them as well. But fortunately, none of the Tier-3 beasts paid attention to them.

They entered the passage quickly, one after another. When the second guard was about to release the last cage, he was stunned.

Because the cage grills were bent. This rat beast had such strength compared to the other Tier-3 rat beasts.

"What happened?" the first guard asked.

"Look at this one. Is it a Tier-3 beast?"

"It looks different compared to the other beasts," the second guard replied.

"Don't dwell on this matter. Our job is to release them silently," the first guard replied.

The second guard nodded his head. Then both of them released the last cage.

The beast inside walked out slowly. The beast was different from the other enraged Tier-3 beasts because it was a Tier-4 rat beast.

It had already touched Tier-3 when it was injected with the red catalyst liquid.

Both guards were watching the rat beast as it moved towards the sinkhole. Just as they thought the rat beast's body was disappearing into the sinkhole,

Swoosh!

They saw a silver claw flash before their eyes.

Pfff!

Their heads were decapitated with a single slash. The next second, two headless corpses dropped dead on the ground.

The Tier-4 rat beast then dove down the sinkhole.
