STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Instructor Jacob was about to leave. But he was stopped by the Department Head, Derek.

"Are you going there?" Old man Derek asked.

"Yes, lots of confusion out there. I'm going to see what's going on," Jacob replied.

"I'm coming there as well," Old man Derek said.

"What?"

"Head, there is no need for you to come. I don't think that the situation is that bad," Jacob said.

"I know. But I'm the one who gave the mission to that kid. I feel responsible. Since the classes are over, I'm free right now," Derek replied.

Hearing that, Jacob found no reason to decline. Then both of them left the University.

It didn't take long for the Dean, Carolyn, to learn this news. Like others, she is not taking this rat plague seriously. She knows that the city administration has purposely not cleared out some beast hideouts.

She thinks the problem comes from those hideouts. Seeing that Jacob and Elder Derek had left, she didn't know what to say. But she decided to wait for the news.

Lindsey Family:

May Lindsey has been training hard after the defeat. Especially after learning that Jeremy Night's lifeline beast can disrupt an opponent's lifeline beast attack.

She felt even more pressure. She had always thought Jeremy Night was strong, but she never took his lifeline beast into account.

After the duel, she felt Jeremy Night was equally strong as the S-Graders, even though he was one rank lower than her.

She wanted to get strong and have another duel with Jeremy Night, so she has been keeping an eye on Jeremy's information.

After learning that Jeremy Night is doing the rat plague mission, she was surprised. She also learned that Jeremy and his friends had yet to complete the mission.

As far as she knows, the rat plague mission was not that dangerous. But they have been taking time to complete the mission. She didn't know what was going on.

Out of curiosity, she sent one of their family beast tamers to learn news about the incident.

It didn't take long for the Family Beast Tamer to find out the news. But he still failed to get the important information, as the City Administration staff had barricaded the place. No one was allowed to go inside.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night was getting closer to the sinkhole. He continued to flee. The feeling of something chasing him down had increased.

He thought that a Tier-4 Rat Beast was following him from behind. It didn't take long before he reached the previous spot.

Seeing that the sinkhole was above him, he sighed in relief.

Swoosh!

The next second, he attempted to reach the surface. After a few tries, he was able to climb up to the surface. Then he looked around and found the familiar buildings around him.

"The dilapidated building," he uttered in relief.

Then he recalled the Tier-4 Corrupted Beast. His expression changed drastically. He then walked out of the building.

When he appeared outside, he was stunned. He saw that the place was barricaded. A tent had been set up as well.

"So they were here," Jeremy thought.

"Betsy Lowe?"

"Daniel," he called out.

Swoosh!

Hearing his voice, the next second, two figures appeared in front of him. They were none other than Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe.

"Brother Jeremy, you are back!" Daniel Stone exclaimed in surprise.

Betsy Lowe sighed in relief. She felt a huge burden lifted off their shoulders.

"You have made us wait for so long," Betsy Lowe said.

"Good that you guys are here. Go and immediately alert others. I don't want anyone near this area," Jeremy said to them.

Both of their faces changed. They saw Jeremy sounded serious as well.

"Brother, what's going on?" Daniel Stone asked.

"I don't have time to explain. A Tier-4 Rat Beast has followed me," Jeremy said in a grave tone.

"What!"

"Impossible!"

Blood drained from both of their faces. They realized why Jeremy was serious. They couldn't even handle a Tier-3 Corrupted Beast, let alone a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.

Screech!

A rat beast noise sounded from the dilapidated building.

"It's here. Go now," Jeremy shouted at them.

Swoosh!

The next second, they left the place to inform the city administration staff.

When they were gone from the place, Jeremy held the katana in his right hand before turning towards the dilapidated building.

Since it's a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast, he couldn't simply use a blade to harm it. So he started to circulate the starlight energy.

The starlight energy in his mental zone began to decrease.

In the blink of an eye, the katana blade was filled with starlight energy.

Boom!

The walls of the dilapidated house were blasted open. The next second, a big rat beast rushed out of it. From its size and appearance, it was clearly a Tier-4 Corrupted Rat Beast.

Screech!

The rat beast's eyes were huge and red in color. It had a long tail with sharp spikes on it. The claws of the beast were deadlier and sharper.

The deafening noise swept away the surroundings. Jeremy felt a sense of crisis from it. His physique was weak in front of the Tier-4 Beast's claws.

But he had no choice other than to go and block it. Otherwise, the beast would cause destruction if it escaped now.

Swoosh!

Jeremy took the initiative to attack. He brought his katana sword to block it.

The rat beast was furious. It saw prey coming at it. It swept its long tail at the prey.

Cut!

Jeremy's starlight-filled Katana came in contact with the tail.

Boom!

The beast's tail's defense was strong. The attack only made a dent before the tail flung him backward.

The impact was so huge that Jeremy found himself crashing into the wall of a residential building.

Boom!

His body struck the wall. The next second, he felt immense pain in his body. He had underestimated the Tier-4 Beast again.

Compared to the Tier-4 Beast he had faced during the beast invasion, this one was clearly stronger. His starlight energy only helped him to make a dent on its tail.
