Chapter 329: First mission was successful
Cave structure:
Jeremy then spends time recovering the starlight energy. Everything depends on his unknown egg lifeline beast. It's absorbing the natural energy from the surroundings.
Two hours later,
Sinag Clark and her lifeline beast have almost recovered their strength. But she still chooses to move around in the armor suit.
She can tell Jeremy Night's speed is faster without the armor suit. But going deep inside the cave may pose a serious threat.
"Jeremy, why don't you wear the armor suit?"
"We are going to face a more dangerous situation inside," Sinag is trying to persuade.
But Jeremy shakes his head. He is denying it. Since it's going to be dangerous, he needs to respond faster to the threat.
Sinag sighs inwardly. But she is also aware of the fact that Jeremy Night can kill a Tier-4 Beast. If there is any situation ahead, she can only rely on him.
Shortly afterward,
Both of them entered one of the passages and started walking. They can't return without completing the mission.
Jeremy knows that the employer has made it clear. She wanted the mission to be finished successfully, and she doesn't care about the rivalry.
The passage was long and without light. But both of them managed to walk because they had killed the waves of beasts before.
It didn't take long for them to reach a large open space. Jeremy looks around and finds that all passages connect to this place.
This could be the final lair. But they haven't seen the end of it.
Weird cry!
The next second, a weird cry sounded.
Sinag Clark summons her beautiful green butterfly the next moment. She doesn't want to take any chances here.
Jeremy Night takes the handgun in his hand. If there is a small number of beasts hiding here, he needs to take them down sooner.
Boom!
The next second, both of them saw a small number of scorpion beasts charging toward them.
Sound attack!
The green butterfly attacks with sound, followed by the saber attack of Sinag Clark. The duo works in combination to kill the incoming beasts.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night doesn't want to be left behind. He covers the bullets with starlight energy. He has enough magazines.
Bang! Bang!
Aiming at the corrupted beasts' heads, he fires continuous shots at them. The starlight bullets fly through the air at breakneck speed.
The Tier-3 Scorpion beasts have little time to react. One after another, the bullets penetrate through their heads, leaving behind a hole.
Puchak!
Their brains rupture, and their nervous systems collapse the next second. It doesn't take long for the beasts to be completely dead.
Sinag was speechless. Both she and her lifeline beast were working hard to kill one Tier-3 Corrupted Beast. But Jeremy Night is taking down every beast easily, like a walk in the park.
She didn't expect the newcomer's marksmanship to be at this level. Each shot is taking down the life of one corrupted beast.
She was glad that he was part of their Shadow Moon Organization. She doesn't want to come across such an enemy. If you do, you would never know when you might die.
She guessed the fate of others was similar as well. They had died with disbelief and unwillingness.
Bang! Bang!
Jeremy continues firing shots. As time passes, more than 20 beasts have died. They only see a decline in the waves.
About 20 minutes later,
When the last beast was dead, both of them looked at each other.
"Should we go deeper?" Jeremy asked.
"I believe the actual lair is inside," Sinag replied.
Hearing that, Jeremy was surprised. He could not see anything with his eye ability.
"How did you find out?" he asked.
Sinag smiled and turned toward her beautiful green butterfly.
Seeing that, Jeremy understood something. It was her lifeline beast that had sensed something unusual.
He said, "Okay, I'm taking the lead."
After saying that, he started walking forward. At the same time, he is using his eye ability.
Sinag Clark is following him from behind.
It didn't take long for him to reach the depth. He is starting to feel a sense of crisis. A huge scorpion beast's claw comes into view.
It's twice the size of a Tier-3 Scorpion Beast's claw. What's more? He could see a lot more attractive gems. They are shining in bright red light.
"No wonder the employer wanted us to complete the mission. The scorpion lair sits on rare minerals. Our city could benefit hugely from it," Sinag said with a smile.
Hearing that, Jeremy's eyes flickered with understanding. But his gaze never left the Tier-4 Scorpion. He began to cover the bullets with starlight energy.
"Get ready to engage," Jeremy said.
The next second, Sinag told her lifeline beast to attack.
Sound attack!
The beautiful green butterfly released a sound attack.
Jeremy's eyes flickered. He was looking for a good opportunity.
The Tier-4 Scorpion beast vigilantly stared at the two enemies. It knows all the Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts were all killed by the enemies.
Boom!
When the sound hits the Tier-4 Beast, it is stunned for a few seconds. It's stronger than the Tier-3 Corrupted Beast. The effect won't last long.
Bang!
Jeremy fired continuous shots using the opportunity. The starlight bullets hit the target's forehead one after another.
Because of the continuous shots at the same spot, the hard skin, flesh, and bones were penetrated easily. The bullets ruptured the brain, breaking the nervous system.
Pfff!
The huge Tier-4 Corrupted Beast didn't have a chance to fight back. Its vitality ended in a few minutes.
Sinag was speechless. She then recalled her lifeline beast into her mental zone. Now she had to think about how to solve the mess.
Jeremy sighed inwardly. He had to say that the earlier sound attack by the butterfly lifeline beast had helped him.
Otherwise, anything could have happened.
"What do we do now?" Jeremy Night asked.
Hearing that, Sinag Clark collected her thoughts.
She said, "We need to report to Leader Gisela first. It's better to hear her opinion."
