Such a sword technique, he had never seen anything like it before. It was like a shower of shooting stars: rapid, continuous, seamless. It was even capable of suppressing a Logia Devil Fruit user's elementalized form.
One could imagine, if he had been in his human form and hadn't had time to elementalize, a single slash from that sword would have separated his head from his body on the spot.
Just then, a furious roar suddenly rang out.
Like a thunderclap from a clear sky, a towering figure came crashing down between Rojen and Crocodile.
That godlike, demonic presence... the savage face... the dominating aura, it was Jason!
"Die, Crocodile!!"
With a mighty roar, Jason strode forward, ten meters with each step, and in just three steps, he had arrived in front of Crocodile, throwing out a punch.
"Power Amplification: 200x!"
Seeing this monstrous man appear before him again, especially noticing the water droplets trickling from his arm, Crocodile's face changed dramatically. His legs trembled, and he instinctively began retreating again.
But, it was too late!
Exploding with power, Jason was terrifying. He lunged forward, and even the sand in the air seemed to freeze in place under the pressure of that single punch.
"WOMMMM!"
The punch had barely been thrown when the 200x power amplification exploded forth.
The sand was suspended... the air compressed... even the void seemed to warp and scorch.
Crocodile's eyes were filled with shock, horror, and fear. He took another step back.
BOOM!
The sheer force of the punch, like a blade of wind, hadn't even made contact, yet blood was already being flayed from Crocodile's face and body.
As the fist got closer and closer, Crocodile felt as if a terrifying beast was roaring in his face. The pressure and ferocity shook him to his very core.
He took yet another step back, just as the punch reached its final phase, and now, Jason's fist was only an inch from Crocodile's forehead.
Even at that distance, Crocodile's nose and face were already covered in blood.
"Hū... hū..."
Breathing heavily, Crocodile, in that instant, genuinely thought, he was going to die.
And then, another roar tore through the air.
It was Jason, once more. His bellow was like a lion's roar, like a tiger shaking the forest!
"BOOM!!"
"WENG WENG WENG, !!"
Crocodile could clearly see the air in front of him twisting and distorting, followed by a violent, overbearing force that slammed into him,
First his nose, then his face, then his skull… Then his upper body, and finally his lower body.
In that instant, it was as if Crocodile's entire being was twisted and shattered by the brutal impact.
He was blasted dozens of meters away, sweeping through the sky like a sandstorm. The entire area was cleared of sand, and the shockwave left a ten-meter-wide trench carved into the ground.
"I refuse to believe you're still not dead after that!!" Jason bellowed.
He had just witnessed Crocodile's body disappear entirely, without even transitioning into sand, it was like the man had been erased.
"Cough... Cough..."
But just then, a coughing sound came from about five or six meters to the side. The sand gathered again, Crocodile reappeared.
"Still not dead?!" Jason clenched his fists, eyes flashing with fury, he was really getting angry now.
This bastard... was unbelievably hard to kill.
"Next time... I'll amplify my strength by 400x. Let's see if you can survive that!"
"Cough... Cough..."
Crocodile quickly stood up and staggered back several dozen meters, putting more distance between himself and the two of them.
His gaze toward the other side was now filled with absolute terror.
Yes, he was a Logia user, capable of controlling the desert, but this big guy was not even human!
That punch… if it had really landed, hell, even if it had just grazed him, he would've been completely obliterated.
How could anyone possess such monstrous power?!
"Hū… Hū…"
The sandstorm still raged above them, blotting out the sky as it slowly drifted overhead.
"Crocodile, your strength… truly exceeded my expectations," Rojen took a few steps forward, speaking calmly.
Indeed, the opponent's power had genuinely surprised him, it was far beyond what he had anticipated. But on second thought, it made sense. A Logia-type Devil Fruit, when fully unleashed, could easily cover an entire island or sea region.
Compared to that, Crocodile's sandstorm, which spanned only a few hundred meters, was actually quite subpar in the world of real powerhouses.
"This world is ruled by powerhouses; through strength, one earns fame, fortune, and status."
"I acknowledge your power. How about it, are you interested in joining us?"
Alone, no one could change the world. This guy might be savage, yes, but Rojen had full confidence he could suppress someone like this. More importantly, there was still potential to reshape him. A young pirate fresh out to sea, with a mind not yet fully set in stone, was the perfect time to recruit him.
"Captain, this guy just tried to kill us!" Jason protested.
Rojen's eyes narrowed slightly, but he shook his head.
The fiercer the tiger, the greater its use, once tamed.
"Ha ha ha! You think… you've already won?"
"How laughable!"
But to their surprise, instead of being grateful or cooperative, Crocodile burst into mocking laughter, his eyes turning cold and sinister once more.
His whole body suddenly trembled, then, bending at the waist, he began to lower his hands toward the ground.
As long as he could touch the earth, he could unleash his weathering ability, drain all moisture from their bodies. He'd still be the victor!
But at that moment, Rojen's figure twisted and vanished on the spot.
"Blade Draw!"
A swift flash.
Before Crocodile could even react, his arms were severed, sliced clean off by a single, blindingly fast sword stroke, reduced into a swirl of yellow sand.
Immediately after, the sword spun, pressing coldly against Crocodile's neck, causing his pupils to tremble violently.
"Don't move, you ruthless bastard."
"If you so much as twitch, I'll blow your head off."
At the same time, a chilling, deathly aura enveloped his body, making Crocodile's heart jolt.
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted the skinny kid who had shot at him earlier, now holding a gun and glaring murderously.
But what truly made Crocodile's pupils contract was this: the boy was rubbing water droplets onto the barrel.
"Damn it!"
If the bullet carried water, just one shot could end him permanently.
Crocodile was furious. He was terrified. But he had no way out.
"…What do you want?"
Seeing that Trens had come up with this lethal tactic, Rojen couldn't help but chuckle.
A hidden sniper, one shot, one kill, was certainly deadly. But pairing that with Trens' scrawny frame made for a strangely comedic contrast.
"You can see for yourself. We were going to kill you. But after thinking it over… you might still be useful."
"So now, we're forcing you to join us."
The casual, almost cheerful threat reached Crocodile's ears, causing rage to well up inside him.
"You really think I'll just surrender like this?!"
