chapter 54
Liao Tingyu took a root in the town slowly; he was a well-known teacher in the school and he was the famous writer who wrote fantasy and innovative stories.
In the Liao Village, Liao Ming and his family had been busy making business. Although the bean curd wasn’t expensive but it was well-accepted by their neighbours and villagers. They bought it once in a while and praised their family’s craft.
Liao Shi who was a little worried about their selling, was full of confident. He made according to Liao Tingyu’s order and made a lot of bean curd to store. They could sell them in the town when there was an event.
He looked at the bean curd hanged one by one on the sky; Liao Shi was full of spirit.
.
Last night, Mother Deng asked Wen Xiuer to make bean curd dish with Liao Tingyu’s recipe. The food didn’t have weird smell of tofu and it tasted good enough. While eating, Liao Ming nodded his head and took a sip of his wine, “If this is sold in the inn, their business would be good.”
Mother Deng disagreed, “The inn in the town has never been short of business.”
Liao Shi fell the atmosphere wasn’t good, so he and his wife ate slowly and didn’t make any sounds. Mother Deng looked at him with a frown, this eldest son only knew how to work outside and his rough appearance didn’t help his dull face.
They were born by the same woman, but how could the one was smart but this one was stupid? Mother Deng shook her head and drank a cold water, she told Wen Xiuer to feed the chicken while she cleaned up the table.
.
In their small room, Liao Shi massaged his wife’s swollen legs.
“How is it? is it better? I will press again if you’re still uncomfortable.”
Wen Xiuer shook her head, “You’ve worked hard today. Come here and rest, I will press your back for you.”
“Okay, wait a little. Let me massage you some more, then you can do it for me. My brother said it was good to massage a pregnant person like this.”
Wen Xiuer didn’t answer him, she looked at the striped tofu skin outside. There was so many of them, will they be able to sell it all?
.
Liao Tingyu looked at his money, took advantage of his free time and went to meet real estate agent. He wanted to ask if there was any available house and the market situation.
The information he got was the same like his own speculation; a small courtyard was one hundred taels, if he wanted a little shop, it would raise the price a little.
Liao Tingyu wanted to open a bookstore, which was his cherished long wish. The store must be on the East Street, because this place was the market street for selling books, pens and ink. For the West Street, there wouldn’t be much scholar visited this street and their building wasn’t as good as the East Street.
After thinking about it, he decided to save money and waited for the next dividends of his books next month. He could ask his family to come and choose together.
He thought of doing another job to make more money, but there were very few places which recruit workers. He wanted to do simple jobs to enrich his pocket but reality was really cruel.
The town wasn’t too big but it was prosperous. People loved to talk about everything especially the famous news. So, people would know about scholars and their good or bad fame.
It was because of this he ran into an obstacle. Well, he talked to the business owner that he wanted to be a bookkeeper but when everyone realized he was a great scholar, they complement him in everything and he couldn’t say what he wanted to say.
Then, he discovered that the wealthy girls in the town like to dye their nails, which triggered an inspiration for him.
He had gone to places where they sold cloth to see their patterns and colours. It turned out that the cloth was dyed and woven by hands. Although the colour wasn’t bright but it was still beautiful.
The key was, he actually knew that salt could fix a colour. So, he told his former classmate who had cloth business at home. He took it back and tried it then thanked him later. The former classmate said the method was good and the colour was nicer, but their store was a bit small and it wasn’t as good as the fabrics from Jiangnan.
Liao Tingyu said forget it, he had no choice but to recognize the reality.
As a result, within two days, that store cloth produced newly dyed cloths.
Just two words from him, ha ha. Then, Liao Tingyu simply told the method to Huang Hao in front of everyone.
Next, everyone in the town knew about it.
Liao Tingyu avoided that store and squinted at the other party’s no longer crowded door.
‘Hey, you guys dared to fight me.’
