Chapter 33: Mirror!
Seth's normal routine was slightly altered since in the morning he got enticed by his maid's sinful body and did another round of lovemaking before getting out.
Ciel reported his schedule on time but unlike yesterday, her vigor was nowhere to be seen. She was yet again the cold distant secretary whom Seth the first time was greeted with.
Maybe she was even more distant now. But well, Seth has nothing to explain to her nor he cared much about her mood. If she really is going to betray at a point in time, Seth would just pull one or two threads that he has gathered over the past few days.
Being reminded of Ciel, Seth remembered how wasteful it was to collect the bandits who had near to zero information in his mind regarding the person behind this whole plan. In the end, the boss bandit was killed as well.
Arriving at the school nearly on time, Seth as usual walked to the student council office. Since it was the weekend there didn't seem to be many professors around.
'Sigh* Work on the weekends as well… '
It was Seth's choice to complete his pending work on time since vacations were approaching and he didn't want to be occupied with files even back at home. There were already quite some matters for him to take care of, back in his birthplace.
Just as Seth turned at the corner of the corridor to walk toward the office, he spotted a certain blond-haired beautiful girl, wearing a first-year uniform.
Her eyes traced Seth's approaching figure as she hurriedly walked up to him.
"Good morning President. C-Can I have a minute of yours?"
Seth just glanced at Serena but didn't reply before he pushed the door of the Council office and went inside.
Serena was baffled at being ignored like this but she knew the President must be agitated by the incident yesterday which made it even more essential for her to talk to him.
Serena gathered her courage and walked inside as well, even though no regular student was allowed to enter the office for any motive.
Seth knew she would follow him that's why he just entered wordlessly. He knew Serena came here to talk about Arata that's why Seth felt it better to not let anyone eavesdrop on them.
Of course, he has to pretend to be offended here.
"You know the consequences of breaking the rule right? Despite being from a noble family, you haven't been taught well, I guess?"
Serena was taken aback by the harsh remark which not only threatened her but also shamed her family.
Her eyes narrowed as she looked up at the man sitting all proud and arrogant in the head seat. But soon she calmed down.
'This is for Aru-kun… '
Like a mantra, Serena kept on chanting the same thing since she knew if Serena misbehaves right now, then both she and Arata might get kicked out of the Academy.
Seth without even reading her mind knew what she was exactly thinking at the moment. He just tested her patience by passing that comment and he could tell how desperate this heroine was.
The room fell into short silence as Serena finally collected herself and with a deep sigh, she bowed her head and spoke her mind out.
"I beg you to please forgive Aru-kun for what he has done. I will do anything in return, so please don't take any action against him. "
There was no response but Serena didn't dare to lift her head at all. She waited and waited but little did she think the first thing she would hear would be this absurd.
"So are you going to sell your body again in order to save Arata?"
Serena's eyes widened since she didn't mean to go that far. She instantly straightened her back… only to freeze halfway as Seth was no longer in his seat, rather he was standing some inches in front of her.
The itch on her scalp followed by the chill jolt running down her spine signified how dreaded she was of this guy. Despite not being played by him that night, Serena had a fair share of horror still lingering inside her mind.
And seeing him from this close, made her resurface that night all over again.
"The precious daughter of Count Stephen has so less precaution toward her chastity that she can offer it any time of the day? I never knew you were this cheap Serena or I would have never even thought of bedding you that day."
Serena stood there frozen and shocked beyond belief. She couldn't even share how was she feeling at this moment as his words registered in her consciousness and showed the reflection of what kind of woman she actually is.
Her face grew pale passing each second as it took her time to completely understand what his words meant. But even so, there was no other meaning to it.
In Seth Albeck's eyes, Serena was no better than a prostitute….?
Seth walked back to his seat without concerning what tremor of emotions he has threw at her. He just stated his true thoughts. It is up to her whether she takes it seriously and stops offering herself so readily or not.
Taking his seat, Seth passed his final call regarding the matter with Arata.
"I won't take any action against Arata but do warn him to keep his business away from me. This time I am letting him off the hook but repetition of the same action would lead him to his demise."
Serena somehow got out of her daze as she heard his cold and stern voice regarding the person she came to save here for. But now she somehow regrets why she came.
At least before this morning, she didn't know what this man thought about her…
And now it hurts.
Bowing her head while hiding all her clouding emotions, Serena replied in an emotionless tone before retreating from the office.
"I will take care of it. Thank you for the kindness… "
