Chapter 39: Don’t make me worried!
[Serena's POV:]
Currently, the first room of the Temple which some seconds ago was noisy and echoing with the creatures' screech was now silent like the world has come to an abrupt end.
No, the world was still intact and fortunately, the people with whom I came to this Temple are all safe and sound even though we were facing thousands of Mutated Bats some moments ago.
The reason for everyone's shock, including the President as well, who generally remains quite stern-faced, was just a first-year student like me.
I was assuming that almost everyone was busy in the ordeal which abruptly descended on us in the form of these small black creatures. But my eyes at that time were fixated on President Seth coincidentally.
I was helping Aru-kun to levitate and get to the torch which was on the wall when I witnessed how easily the President was swaying away the bats like it was nothing but just a chore for him.
Well, taking his experience and level of expertise, it was to be expected from him. But something happened that I never thought I would see from the President.
He got distracted in the middle of the battle.
It was textbook knowledge that being distracted in the middle of fighting is like embracing death without even realizing it.
And that single mistake caused one of the bats to land its fangs on his nape.
The President's face contoured and without feeling it myself I was able to see how he must be feeling at the moment.
I was about to dash forward and help with whatever weapon I had but suddenly something terrifying occurred.
The sensation I felt from Anabelle just after Seth senpai was bitten, made every strand stand straight in the alert.
It was a pure surge of Soul Energy without any blend of innate skill like she possessed of Healing. That would have proven useless whatsoever.
But what Anabelle released was her rage. I was able to feel it. The ripple in her emotion shifted terrifyingly and fortunately, the target of her hatred wasn't us, or who knows what repercussions would have followed.
In an instant, all the creatures which were hovering endlessly over us fell dead silent. No, it would be better to say, the Mutants fell dead and inevitably silent.
Even for a glimpse, I was able to see her fiery eyes which weren't directed at anyone specific but this whole situation.
I primarily wasn't able to discern what caused such a ripple in her aura but soon I got my answer.
Anabelle after releasing such a monstrous Soul tide did nothing but just to dash forward and extend her hand toward the injured.
President was too shocked to even respond to how quickly he got healed with Anabelle's surprising capabilities. Wasn't she a Tier 3 mage who hasn't even experienced a proper battle before? Wasn't she supposed to be a healer, not a warrior?
I didn't have that much peace of mind left to ponder about such a thing.
Everyone was in deep shock after feeling such enraged Aura. The professors were no better either.
But there was one thing which I concluded even going through such a foreign sensation and losing my literal mind there for some seconds.
Anabelle is awfully protective of the President.
And for some reasons, I want to know the reason behind such strange development.

[3rd Person POV:]
Feeling the cool and soothing sensation on the injured part, Seth somehow pulled out of his reverie as the first thing his focused eyes caught was a pair of blue gems.
Anabelle was standing just some steps away from him, intending to heal his wound as her raised hand glowed with a greenish hue.
In a more stable mind, Seth should have been able to realize that the wave of Soul Energy he felt some moments ago, should be no problem for Anabelle to discharge—taking her origin into account.
But right now, he was shaken down to the core.
He was a normal human in his previous life. Apart from some fragments of memories, this body didn't bestow any experience on Seth. So feeling such pure energy was quite enlightening and borderline horrifying for him.
The only thing he felt like saying in this situation was…
"Thanks… "
Anabelle still had the gaze which cried with worries. Despite hearing such soft whispers, her expression remained the same. The reason was obvious.
"Never expected, you will get distracted at times like this. If you are not feeling well then you should've said so. I was plenty for these measly pests. Yet you…you…"
And she started shedding.
Seth was genuinely startled.
At that moment he entirely forgot he was a reincarnated being who had to play the role of villain.
He saw the girl and knew she was hurt because of him.
"Hey, it's okay. I am fine alright? It's not like that much venom would have killed me. Now stop crying."
The sight was quite shocking to behold. Fortunately, only the professors and Serena were in their right mind to witness it.
So, even the Student Council President Seth really has such a soft side? And what is that desperate attempt to calm Anabelle down? That's too out of character.
But Seth had no mind to pay much heed. He felt something strange seeing Anabelle so troubled because of him.
Fortunately, Anabelle didn't put up a show and soon realized that Seth had to keep his image. She felt extremely elated being pampered like this but the situation and place were not right.
"Please don't make me worry anymore."
"Mmhmm."
