Chapter 460: Him...
Bang!
Bang!
Boom!
As two forces collided, shockwaves shook the surroundings. It was a good thing that the city was evacuated; otherwise, with how fast the buildings were being reduced to rubble with each strike from both individuals, many lives would have been lost.
"Tch!" One of them clicked his tongue as he landed on the ground with a sword in his hand. An old man of a fairly old age, a bloodied appearance along with a strained expression on his face as he tried to regulate his Qi to stop the bleeding.
"Why are you here?" He asked his opponent. There were many surprises for the old man was getting that day. Not only was one of his organization's heads dead, but the enemies weren't the ones he had expected to face.
"What do you mean?" The old man's opponent asked in a laid-back voice.
"We have no enmity with the Thunder Cloud Tempest Sect. Then why are you here trying to stop us, Song Huan?" The old man asked with a displeased expression.
"Why do you think then?" Song Huan teasingly asked.
"Can you pay the price of your actions once the master gets the wind of your actions?" The old man asked.
"Your master is going to have his hands full with another stubborn old man. He's not going anywhere anytime soon." Song Huan said with a lazy attitude.
"Are you sure about that?" The old man asked, for the first time, having an edge in the conversation. As much as Song Huan wanted to dismiss that statement, the confidence in the old man's voice made it difficult to do so.
As if on cue, a Qi surge from a significant distance shook the entire city, even reaching them.
"What the...?" Song Huan was taken aback and turned to look at the old man, who had a smirk on his face, "We never trusted the boy."
Those five words were enough to let Song Huan know what had happened. Without hesitation, he jumped at the old man and slammed him into the asphalt below.
"Kugh!" The old man struggled to put up a fight, but Song Huan began to rain punches down on his face with such an intensity that didn't suit his power.
'No... How?' According to their intel, Song Huan wasn't that strong yet...
'This is bad.' The old man thought and tried to activate his Qi, however...
Nothing.
"Oh, and my realm is a peak Emperor now." Song Huan said as he finally activated his Qi once more, and one more punch to the old man's head before it splattered all around.
Just as he finished the job, another tremor shook the city as he turned to look at the power of frost in the distance.
'What the hell is that now?' He had just asked himself that question when another power, a weaker one than the other two, was mixed into the fold.
This one, however, he knew very well.
The cube in his robe began to shine as it also felt Wei Jun's power. Song Huan pulled it out, and a voice came from the cube, "Put this on his heart."
"Will it work?" Song Huan asked.
"Do as you're told." The voice simply said without any hint of a threat in its voice, but Song Huan was greatly scared and simply nodded. Those powers in the distance were enough to destroy the city, yet he was scared of a voice.
'Let's go.' Song Huan made his way to the inner city, where the main battle was going on.
~~
"Kehe~ And who would you be?" The man asked as he made his way towards Wei Jun with slow, deliberate steps.
"Haa... Haa... Haa..." Wei Jun was panting hard as he looked at his shaking hands. They were trembling so hard as if they had no control over themselves. He clenched his fists hard and closed his eyes for a second before he opened them again, and his fists stopped shaking.
Wei Jun looked at the man making his way to him and then looked behind him where Yan Rong lay unconscious with her father beside her.
He sighed and turned to look at the man once again, his body recovering from the injuries sustained by stopping just one attack of the man very quickly.
"Just someone." Wei Jun simply replied as Qi began to course through him, and his condition was further improved.
"Hmm~~ That's an interesting power for just someone," The man said before he asked, "What do you think, boy? Want to join me? I'll teach you personally."
"Can't." Wei Jun outrightly refused.
"Pity." The man replied before another sphere of dark, sinister Qi appeared in his hand, and he shot it at Wei Jun.
[Death Veil]
The veil of Death covered Wei Jun and his surroundings. The sphere, as it came into contact with his Death Veil, visibly became slower and its intensity lessened as well.
"As I expected," The man replied as he applied more force with his hands, "This is a strange power."
Wei Jun exerted his full power as well. At least this attack was on the lower side, so Wei Jun could hold his ground.
"Celestial Shield!" A pure white shield appeared before Wei Jun, and the connection between the man and the sphere was cut off. That meant the man could no longer exert force on the sphere or supply additional Qi to it.
That helped Wei Jun greatly as he diverted all of his focus to the sphere and used his Death Qi to suppress it, which worked in an instant, and Wei Jun was free of the attack.
"You're late!" Wei Jun said as he looked at the military commander on his right, who had just said, "He was strong."
"And you had him with you." Wei Jun argued as he looked to his left, where Morial had just landed and tucked his wings behind his back.
"He was strong," was all Morial said in his defense.
"Insects. No matter how many of them there are, they're just insects." The man said as he looked at the three men, well, two men and one draconian, who now stood before him.
"Who are you calling an insect, young man?" Morial asked with a displeased expression.
"Young man? I'm flattered." The man replied.
Only he didn't know. In Morial's eyes, and with how old he was, the man was indeed a young man.
But that didn't matter in the least. What mattered was the power of the man. The strong were strong, no matter whether young or old.
"Can we even take him?" The commander, Luo Li, asked.
"No." Wei Jun simply replied.
"Then shouldn't we wait for the elder?" Luo Li asked.
"He should have discovered their base by now. If he's not here means he's held back by something." Wei Jun replied.
His answer made sense, so Luo Li stopped putting his faith in the elder coming to their rescue and silently began to strengthen his body with Qi.
Morial did the same as the erratic mana filled his body, ready to cast a spell and execute a physical attack.
"Such bravado." The man said as he began to rise up in the air. The gazes of the trio followed as they raised their heads to follow the man's ascent in the air.
"But before absolute strength," He lowered his hand and let a Qi sphere into the ground.
The ground ripped apart, and the force struck everyone in a certain radius, reducing everything to rubble, hitting the trio as well.
They raised their respective power's shields to protect themselves from attack. The attack came to an end, and their surroundings were nothing but rubble and a destroyed wasteland by now.
"The land prices are really going to rise." Luo Li said.
"Of course, they are." Wei Jun said.
"You seem happy," Morial said.
"Who knows?" Wei Jun said before...
Boom!!!
Wei Jun shot upwards and hit the man, surprising him and catching him off guard.
Shoot!!!
They slammed through the buildings as they arrived a good height up above in the sky, and Wei Jun punched him in the face, throwing him once again.
The man tried to stabilize himself. His flying abilities were limited, yet Wei Jun was flying through the air like he was born in the air.
"What the...!!!" As soon as the man stabilized himself, he created a shield with his Qi at the front as a beam of death fell on him. He tried to stabilize himself in the air, but Wei Jun didn't stay in one place. He kept moving around him while shooting the beams of death.
"You're troublesome." The man couldn't help but say.
Wei Jun flew back immediately as his attacks were rendered useless by a wave of Qi emitted from the man, negating everything in a certain radius.
"Damn!" No matter how fast he was, he was still caught up in the attack radius, but since he was not in the innermost area, one would have expected the attack would have lessened by a good bit.
But...
"ARGH!!!"
