Just as Jason finished the last line of his grand declaration, as the cheering began to swell, the atmosphere snapped.

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

BOOM

The symphony of destruction rang through the Gotham Plaza like war drums. Four police cruisers lit the air with blazing flame, the sudden heat pushing the gathered crowd into a chaotic frenzy of panic and shrieking.

On every screen across the plaza—on the jumbotron behind Jason, on building signs, on news vans—a flickering green screen appeared.

And then came the laughter.

Mechanical. Manic. All too familiar.

A massive glowing green question mark overtook every screen in Gotham.

"Ah, Gotham! Did you miss me? Because I've certainly missed you~!"

A distorted feed appeared of a man with slicked green hair, suited in a tacky emerald jacket, top hat tilted slightly to the side.

The Riddler had returned.

He held a golden cane and twirled it in his gloved hand as he grinned wide, eyes flashing with that chaotic intellect that could rival even the Bat.

"To the self-righteous peacocks strutting on stage... allow me to spoil your perfect little parade."

The screen flickered.

A riddle began to flash, line by glowing line:

"I'm something that breaks yet never falls,And when I fall, I break you all.I'm dark yet bring light, I pass without fight—But solve me fast, or your cops die tonight."

What am I?"

As if to punctuate the point, another explosion lit up the far corner of the city. This one was closer to the Gotham Federal Bank.

News reporters were already scrambling to cover what now became a triple-coordinated attack:

"We're getting reports now—Gotham Bank is under siege by what appears to be Bane and his mercenaries! Dozens of armed men are storming the vaults—hostages have been taken!"

"Breaking news! Killer Croc has been spotted near the Anderson Towers! He's tearing through the foundation like tissue paper!"

"The Riddler has released multiple riddles threatening to blow up a patrol car every ten minutes the puzzles remain unsolved—GCPD is calling it a terrorist hostage situation on a city-wide scale!"

Officers began to bark orders through their radios, sirens wailed as the crowd was pushed into mass evacuation—but in the middle of the storm, Jason Lucas Anderson stood still.

Calm.

Collected.

He chuckled.

"Tch. Couldn't even wait for the cameras to power down. Eager bastards."

He turned on his heel, his coat fluttering slightly as he faced his squad. His voice, however, boomed with authority.

"Red Hood."

Jason Todd stepped forward, already pulling his helmet back over his face.

"You'll handle the Riddler. Alone."

Red Hood tilted his head.

"Am I allowed to use lethal force?"

Jason smiled.

"Feel free to get creative."

"Heh. About damn time." Todd spun his twin pistols in hand as he vanished into the chaos.

Jason turned next to the trio behind him.

"Livewire. Harley. Katana. You're headed to the Gotham Bank. Burn Bane out of there."

Livewire's eyes sparked to life.

"I'll fry his steroid-laced brain into protein mush."

Harley cracked her knuckles and pulled a candy-striped bat from behind her back.

"I'll bash it in like a piñata at my ex's birthday party!"

Katana simply unsheathed her blade in silence. The eerie whisper of souls filled the air.

"I'll carve a lesson into his flesh."

Jason nodded.

And then his gaze turned east, toward the distant smoke coming from the Anderson Building.

He lifted his communicator and tapped into the police line frequency.

"To any officers holding position at Anderson Tower—fall back immediately. I'll handle Killer Croc myself."

The officer on the other end of the line hesitated.

"Sir?! That thing is a monster! You can't go alone—"

Jason's voice dropped an octave.

"I said... fall back."

He cut the feed.

A smirk played on his lips.

"Time to show these freaks who really owns Gotham now."

And with that, the Cursed Ones moved—splitting across the battlefield like shadows unleashed from a cage.

....

The front of Gotham National Bank was a battlefield.

Shattered police barricades littered the sidewalk like discarded toys. Smoke from the recent explosions painted the skies in shades of grey. Bystanders screamed as they were escorted away, and the GCPD formed hasty perimeters at a distance, already overwhelmed.

From the thick, cracked marble doors of the bank, thunderous footsteps echoed like war drums.

And then he appeared.

Bane.

Bulked beyond reason, a walking juggernaut of venom-infused muscle and rage, with tubes pulsing along his back and shoulders like serpents. Behind him, nearly two dozen of his men, each one hooked to the same enhancement cocktail—less men and more monsters.

A lesser team would've folded at the sight.

But not the Cursed Ones.

Livewire cracked her knuckles, electrical sparks already dancing around her fingertips like fireflies on speed. Her lips curled into a grin that promised chaos.

"Finally, some action. I was getting bored watching Jason monologue."

Harley Quinn swung her candy-striped bat over her shoulder, blowing a bubble of bright pink gum.

"Muscle-bound morons with daddy issues? Sounds like my kinda therapy session."

Katana stood at their side in silence, her hand resting gently on the hilt of Soultaker. Her eyes scanned the field with cold precision. No fear. No hesitation.

..

Bane's men roared, charging the steps like a stampede. But before their boots even hit the concrete—

ZAP!

Livewire shot forward like a lightning bolt, her body turning into a blur of raw voltage. She hit the first group head-on, sending three steroid-ridden goons flying into a nearby SWAT van with enough force to crumple it.

"Next!"

Two more lunged at her, trying to flank.

Big mistake.

Her arms lit up in a blinding blue surge and she raised both palms—

"Static Slam!"

A pulse of electrical energy burst outward in a perfect sphere, frying their nervous systems on impact. They twitched and fell to the ground convulsing, their enhancements short-circuited.

On the other side of the bank, Harley wasn't subtle.

She ran straight in.

Laughing.

Screaming.

Bat in hand, madness in her eyes.

A goon lunged at her with a crowbar—she ducked, slid between his legs, and cracked him in the groin on the way through. He fell with a squeal, but she wasn't done. The next swing hit him square in the face—CRACK—he collapsed like a ragdoll.

"Oooooh! That one's gonna need a dentist!"

Two more surrounded her. One had a pipe, the other a pistol.

She kicked the pipe-wielder in the knee, spun, and smashed the other one's gun hand before slamming her bat across his temple.

"BANG BANG, Mr. Musclehead!"

Meanwhile, in the shadows—

Katana moved like death.

She didn't run. She didn't yell. She didn't need to.

She flowed.

Her blade sang.

In a single movement, she ducked beneath a punch, reversed her grip, and cut through her attacker's tendons before he even realized she was there. Another raised his rifle—but his arms were already on the floor.

Shhkkk.

Her blade whispered through flesh and bone.

She slipped between columns, into side halls, cutting down goon after goon, one after another falling silently, never knowing what hit them.

And then the final trio came into view—surrounding a group of hostages in the bank vault.

Katana blurred.

One scream.

Three bodies hit the floor.

"You are safe now," she whispered to the hostages, who nodded, trembling.

...

The Girls regrouped but then the marble beneath their feet trembled.

A massive shadow loomed from the vault entrance, each step like a drumbeat of doom. Bane emerged through the crumbling doorway, tubes bulging with venom, chest heaving with power. He cracked his neck as he stared at the three women before him.

"Three little clowns think they can bring down the king?" he growled, voice deep and thunderous.

Livewire narrowed her eyes, lightning flickering along her arms. "Oh great. He talks like a wrestler too."

Harley twirled her bat lazily, eyes sparkling. "You're not the first roided-out tub of meat I've put in the ground, sweetie."

Katana said nothing. Her hand slid to the hilt of Soultaker, eyes locked.

Then Bane charged.

His speed betrayed his size.

Livewire reacted first, sending a bolt of electricity straight into his chest. The impact singed his clothes and made him stagger—but he didn't stop. With a furious roar, he barreled forward and slammed into her, shoulder-first.

Livewire flew across the room like a ragdoll, crashing into a column that cracked on impact. She groaned, sliding down to the ground, stunned.

"One down," Bane grunted.

Harley was next, darting forward with her bat raised, screaming.

"GET OFF MY FRIEND YOU STINKY WRESTLER!"

She swung hard.

Bane caught the bat mid-swing.

With a flick of his wrist, he hurled Harley through the air—she crashed through a roulette table and landed with a gasp, winded but still conscious.

"Two down," Bane smirked.

But Katana was already behind him.

Her blade whispered through the air, slicing one of the venom tubes on his back. Green fluid hissed out, spraying against the floor like acid.

"You move fast for a beast," she muttered.

Bane roared and spun, his massive arm striking out. Katana dodged, but not fast enough—his forearm slammed into her ribs, sending her flying into a wall. The impact left a deep crater, and she coughed blood.

He stood there, victorious for a moment, towering over them all.

"You thought this was a game," he said, breathing heavily. "I've broken stronger warriors. I'll break you too."

Livewire rose slowly, her eyes sparking with fury.

Harley pulled herself from the wreckage, limping but alive, eyes wild.

Katana stood with blood trailing from her lip, sword gleaming.

"Oh hell no," Livewire growled. "Round two, asshole."

She unleashed a thunderclap of energy—this time amplified, focused into a single concentrated blast that struck Bane directly in the face. His scream was monstrous as his skin burned and his vision went white.

Katana surged forward with blinding speed, slicing through the remaining venom tubes on his back. Each one hissed and burst, leaving his body weaker by the second.

"You're losing your edge," she whispered.

Bane, now panicked, swung wildly—but Katana rolled beneath the blow.

Then—

CRACK!

Harley's bat smashed into his knee from the side. Bane screamed, staggering.

"Leg day's important, dumbo!" she yelled.

He tried to stand tall, but his strength was draining, his body quivering from the lack of venom, nerves fried from Livewire's electricity.

He lunged toward Katana, rage blinding him.

Katana met his charge with a sidestep and brought her blade down hard—severing his right arm at the elbow.

He howled in agony, collapsing to one knee.

Zzzzzt!

Livewire's lightning engulfed his body again. This time, she held nothing back. Every nerve in his body caught fire. He convulsed violently.

And Harley?

Harley walked forward, bat slung over her shoulder, skipping like she was heading to a candy shop.

"Told ya I'd bash your brains in, didn't I?"

She wound up

Bang

The bat cracked against his skull.....

Bang

Another hit.

Bang

A third.

Bane collapsed to the floor, blood pooling beneath him. His body twitched—then went still.

The girls stood over the fallen titan.

Panting.

Bloody.

Victorious.

Livewire wiped sweat from her brow and smirked. "Fried roid rage. Delicious."

Katana sheathed her blade without a word.

Harley looked down at Bane and huffed, "Jason's gonna love this!"
