Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Nathan and Lena stood next to the pool. "After fighting so long on the land, I'm sure you haven't fought underwater. This is a perfect time to check the difference.

"Before setting up the barrier, how about attacking the water and controlling your ability underwater?" Lena asked.

Nathan thought for a moment. "Can I just shoot my bullet into the water?"

Nathan formed a small sphere to show what he wanted to control underwater.

"Feel free. If your control is good enough, you should notice the difference."

After getting her confirmation, Nathan turned to the pool and released the small sphere into the water.

Once it entered the water, Nathan noticed the difference in pressure between air and water, which could destabilize his power. However, the pressure wasn't that bad to the point where he couldn't control it.

Nevertheless, Nathan understood another difference between controlling the ena on land and underwater. When he wanted to move the bullet forward, the resistance was quite harsh, which slowed down his attack.

In other words, he had to pour more ena just to achieve a similar effect. And this was just a pool. When he entered the sea, the pressure would be much heavier. Even Nathan would have a hard time controlling his ena there.

Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought. "I see. So, that's how it is."

Nathan then summoned Fenrir and Anubis.

"What's wrong?" Anubis asked, "I usually know what we're going to do the moment you summon us, but… What's going on here?"

Nathan smiled wryly. "It appears, to summon Kun, we might have to fight under the sea. Hence, from the looks of it, you two are the ones who are most likely to be able to fight in such an environment. Can you?"

"Heh?!" Fenrir proudly declared, "I can fight underwater. There's no need for you to worry about my physique. Still, fighting under the sea is my brother's domain since he was thrown into the sea when he was young."

"I know, Jormungandr, right?" Nathan nodded. "It's just… he's not here. I will see if I will summon him later, but for now, I want to focus on Kun." Nathan nodded. "Do you think you can do it, Fenrir?"

"Who are you talking to? I'm the great Fenrir, the monstrous wolf of Asgard, the epitome of physical might. Even if you throw me to the deepest part of the sea, the pressure won't be able to crush me." Fenrir harrumphed. "Even if the sun descends, it won't be able to burn me."

Anubis rolled his eyes. "That's for your peak state, right? Right now, you're weak."

"What did you say?" Fenrir glared at Anubis but couldn't refute him either.

"Well, don't fight for now. We don't have a lot of time." Nathan asked, "Can you fight like you usually do, Fenrir?"

"Yes. Want me to show it to you?" Fenrir smirked. Without waiting for Nathan's response, Fenrir had already leaped into the pool. Once inside the water, Fenrir actually showed something unexpected.

"Huh?" Even Lena couldn't help but widen her eyes.

Fenrir moved as if the water wasn't there. He ran and leaped around, showing that there was nothing different from his normal condition.

Once he was done showing off, he emerged from the water while asking, "How is it?"

"The water does nothing to you?" Nathan asked while furrowing his eyebrows.

After confirming his ability, he shook the water off his body. "So, anything else?"

"Alright. If you need anything, call me again." Fenrir disappeared into thin air.

Nathan then turned to Anubis. Anubis shook his head. "Just to let you know, water was a precious resource where I lived, so no, I hadn't fought in that environment."

Nathan then turned to Lena, asking, "What are we supposed to do? Anubis is a healer of the group. He should be able to heal anyone as long as they're not dead. He will remain on the back to boost anyone's power with his Synchronization.

"So, you might need to teach the barrier to both of us. I'm sure that with Anubis' help, we can proceed much more safely."

Lena furrowed her eyebrows. "That's a bold claim. To be able to heal any injury as long as the person's not dead."

Anubis nodded. "It shouldn't be hard. Of course, the stronger you are, the more ena I need. Still, I should have enough ena to even heal you if you end up in a critical state."

"!!!" Nathan didn't expect that the duchess would go to such a length. Then again, promising something that she didn't know whether it would work or not was the same as giving false hope. She didn't want to do such a thing, so he understood why Lena did it.

But that was a bit too reckless, especially since she was the duchess and the one with the highest authority here. If Anubis couldn't heal her, wouldn't that make the expedition get canceled?
