Super Game System-Otherworld King: Rise to Power

Chapter 37: Escort the Princess Back to the Mountains

Half an hour later, the thunderous sound of hooves echoed from outside the village. Zhang Tie and Ah Shou, leading a large group of soldiers, arrived swiftly.

Seeing that the battle had already ended, Zhang Tie discussed with Chen Yang and decided that Ah Shou would take half the troops to meet Ronald.

Several dozen miles away from the village, in a dense forest, a carriage was surrounded by dozens of human soldiers. The wheels had been shot down by arrows, and the ground was littered with the bodies of seven or eight goblins.

Inside the carriage, a tall, angry elf man with a long sword glared at Ronald with a mix of rage and fear.

"Human! What exactly do you want? Do you know the consequences of attacking a princess?"

"The consequences?" Ronald laughed loudly, "We're just simple village folk. We don't care about your threats. You keep calling her a princess, but I don't see any princess here."

"How dare you! Do you think you can just see the princess whenever you want?" The elf man roared, though it was clear his bluster was losing its strength.

"Ling Fei, enough." A calm female voice came from inside the carriage.

A young elf woman in a green robe slowly stepped out. She had skin as pale as snow, and her beauty could rival that of any human woman, but the long, pointed ears marked her as something entirely different.

Her face was pale, as though she had suffered a grave injury. She looked at Ronald with a faint air of disdain.

"This human warrior... I am the elf princess you seek. May I ask why you are pursuing me?" she asked, though there was an undercurrent of contempt in her tone.

Ronald openly sized her up, a grin spreading across his face. "I've heard that elves are fair of face, and now I see it's true. But, I am not here to admire your beauty."

"Forgive my rudeness," he continued, "I am Ronald, and I wish to invite the princess to stay at my mountain stronghold for a few days. How does that sound?"

The princess raised an eyebrow. "You jest. My people have always treated your human race with kindness, yet you once disguised yourselves as Yasha and attacked my convoy. And now you seek to capture me. What is it that you truly want?"

"Yasha?" Ronald furrowed his brows. "Aren't they a branch of the Sea Tribe? And what do you mean by pretending to be Yasha and attacking your convoy?"

His mind raced, and a realization struck him. He smirked and said, "You treat us humans like slaves, exploiting us freely and demanding tribute, and you call that kindness?"

"Enough of this nonsense!" he shouted. "Liu Long, bind them up!"

Before the princess or the elf man could react, Ronald's soldiers rushed forward, tying them up and throwing them onto the horses.

Back at the human village, Ronald's group encountered Ah Shou and his troops. Together, they returned to the village.

In the village square, Ronald began issuing orders.

"Liu Long, your battle group and Zhang Tie's Stonecutting Squad will immediately go wipe out the goblin tribe. Remember, capture as many prisoners as you can."

"Yes, Sir!" Zhang Tie, excited at the prospect of battle, was already raring to go. Slaying goblins was far more thrilling than cutting stone!

"The rest of you, come with me. We'll escort the princess's carriage back to the mountains."

Just as he was about to depart, Liu Long leaned in and whispered to him. "Young master, the elf princess is no ordinary person. There are too many eyes around here. If word gets out..."

Ronald frowned. "And what do you suggest?"

"Perhaps we should relocate the villagers to the camp. This way, we can prevent any leaks and also add more hands to our labor force."

Ronald looked at the restless villagers gathered in the square. After a moment of thought, he nodded.

"Very well. You take your men and leave. I'll handle things here."

"Yes, young master."
