Super Game System-Otherworld King: Rise to Power

Chapter 49: I Want It All!

The Demon Lord waved his hand, saying, "Enough, everyone. This human is still one of our own, after all. Bring him a chair."

At his command, a lackey brought over a small wooden chair, which stood in stark contrast to the large fur-covered chair of the Demon Lord.

The other races laughed at the sight.

The Demon Lord, with a mocking tone, asked, "So, how do you want to divide things?"

Ronald smiled. "I'll take it all."

"What?"

The eyes of the various creatures widened in disbelief. After a beat, the room erupted in laughter, as if they'd heard the best joke of the day.

"Ha! They say humans are clever, but I don't see it," one of the Demons sneered.

The Demon Lord chuckled until he nearly choked, "Take it all? Human, have you lost your mind? I'm in a good mood today, so I'll let you go. Think it over and come back when you're ready."

Ronald remained calm, his expression unchanged. He gave a faint smile and said, "Since that's the case, let's leave it to our abilities. I'd like to know when you'll make your move, so I can prepare."

The Demon Lord's grin faded as he coldly replied, "No need to wait. We're heading out tomorrow. You'd better stay out of the way, or we'll take care of you too."

"Big Boss, this human's quite handsome. Why not take him now? Might be worth a good price!" one of the other Demons suggested with a grin.

The Demon Lord snickered, "No rush. I said I'm in a good mood today, so I'll let him go. Now, leave."

Ronald gave a cold glance over the creatures in the hall before turning on his heel and walking out.

Behind him, the sound of mocking laughter echoed in the air.

As they walked back to camp, the disguised Fan Qingyue frowned in confusion. "Young Master, why didn't you act sooner and deal with them all? Why let them insult you?"

Glancing at the furious female general, Ronald smiled. "Killing them won't solve anything. If the Big Boss dies, there's still the Second-in-command."

"So, what's your plan?" she asked.

"The bandit hideouts are too well concealed. Even Black Wind Camp took a long time to find. If we keep hunting them down one by one, it'll take too much time."

His eyes gleamed with determination. "As long as we know they're moving out tomorrow, we'll be ready."

The next day, as the first light of dawn bathed the Golden Orchid Plains, countless black dots began to appear, scattered across the horizon. A closer look revealed they were human refugees, fleeing from the disasters of war.

There were at least thirty to forty thousand in total.

Among them, a young girl carried a small boy, no older than ten, on her back, stumbling along. Both were gaunt and starving, and the boy's pants were stained with blood, his injury still fresh.

"Are we there yet, sister? I'm so hungry," the boy whispered weakly.

The girl smiled softly, though her eyes were filled with worry. "Hang on, Xiao Yu. We'll be safe soon."

The boy's voice was faint, barely audible. "I miss daddy and mommy..."

The girl's eyes welled up, and she gently comforted him. "Don't worry, they'll be waiting for us just ahead. You mustn't sleep, okay?"

But were their parents really waiting up ahead? Or were they walking straight into the clutches of ruthless bandits?

Suddenly, chaos erupted in the crowd ahead. The girl heard desperate, blood-curdling screams.

"Beasts! Run!" came the panicked cry.

She froze in shock. Wasn't the land of the Elves supposed to be free of such horrors? Why was this happening here?

As she dodged through the panicked crowd, she lifted her head to get a better view. What she saw made her gasp in terror.

A rain of arrows arced through the sky, streaking toward them.

The deadly curve of death!
