Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 1172: Graduation Exam

"What is this?" Lin Shen looked around, a slight hint of surprise visible on his face.

Di Esi and the other two also scrutinized their surroundings, realizing they were inside an oval-shaped space. Smooth and white, the curved walls resembled mutton-fat jade in texture.

The space was approximately thirty meters high, with its widest point horizontally spanning about ten meters, evoking the interior of a massive upright football.

"Welcome to the graduation exam. Candidates must complete all tasks within the allotted time; failure will lead to immediate eradication. Passing the graduation exam will grant you the complete Realm King inheritance." An emotionless electronic voice resonated within the room.

The four of them—Lin Shen included—exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what was happening.

Fortunately, Lin Shen, Wei Wufu, and Ouyang Yudu had previously experienced events tied to the Realm King Planet, so this scenario was not entirely unfamiliar to them.

After the voice ended, beams of light descended from the top of the space, materializing some holographic projection text mid-air.

"Question One: Creation. Break out of the Chaos Egg within one two-hour period. Failing to solve the question within the time limit will result in exam failure and immediate eradication of life."

Below the text was a countdown: a full one hundred and twenty minutes.

Wei Wufu, silent, unleashed all his strength and landed a forceful punch onto the curved wall.

Even though Wei Wufu didn't have the Power of Justice activated in response to sins, his normal strength was still exceptional, ranking top-tier among the Lower Tier.

His punch caused the curved wall to cave inward instantly, but even after exhausting the full force behind his fist, the wall remained unbroken. The concave section rebounded with a massive force, launching Wei Wufu's body backward.

In mid-air, Wei Wufu twisted his body, channeling the rotational momentum to neutralize the rebounded force, landing back onto the ground with stability.

"Even Wei's strength can't break it. Seems like this thing is exceptionally tough; brute force won't cut it. Let me try," Di Esi remarked. Extending a finger, he summoned an entire sky's worth of fine dust, which condensed into a Star Needle countless times thinner than an ordinary needle. Targeting the curved wall, he drove it in.

When the Star Needle touched the curved wall, it failed to penetrate. Instead, it merely caused the wall to indent slightly.

Once the Star Needle's force was depleted, it bounced back instantly. Di Esi sidestepped to avoid it, but the Star Needle ricocheted against the opposite side of the curved wall, repeatedly rebounding throughout the Chaos Egg. When most of its energy had dissipated, Di Esi finally caught it between his fingers.

"The structure of this Chaos Egg is far too intricate. Even the smallest particles I can control are unable to infiltrate its gaps—much less pierce through it," Di Esi mused aloud. "I suspect this test wasn't designed for us. It must be meant for Divine Beings at the Upper Peak."

Lin Shen also felt something was amiss here. With no outsiders present, he went ahead and summoned Xiaona.

"Xiaona, what's going on here?" Lin Shen looked at her and questioned.

"What do you mean, 'what's going on'? Where is this place?" Xiaona scanned her surroundings with evident confusion.

Lin Shen's face turned peculiar as he asked, "This is the place your watch transported me to. You don't know where this is?"

"Is this the Realm King Planet?" Xiaona suddenly lit up with excitement, eagerly examining the space as she spoke. "The teleporter was left to us by your past self. You mentioned there's something stored inside the Realm King Planet, to be retrieved once we ascend to the Great Emperor level."

"Why didn't you say that earlier?" Lin Shen groaned, feeling his teeth clench. Had he known, he wouldn't have ventured to this place.

"You didn't ask! How was I supposed to know you'd come here?" Xiaona countered, visibly annoyed. "I gave you the teleporter so you could freely travel between planets to gather resources you need. Who knew you'd activate it to come here?"

"You could've explained it better! I thought you handed me the teleporter for treasure hunting in this place…" Lin Shen paused and asked, "Is there any way to leave?"

Having tested the teleporter himself, Lin Shen found it unusable in this space.

"I don't know. Your past self only instructed us to come here after reaching Great Emperor rank. He never disclosed what's inside," Xiaona admitted with a shake of her head.

The group exchanged concerned looks. The situation was worse than expected; it seemed they'd have to become Great Emperors to pass this test.

"Do you know what the Chaos Egg is?" Lin Shen realized there was no point in complaining and focused on figuring a way out, lest they all perish inside.

But Xiaona was rather clueless; she had little to no knowledge of this place either.

"Can your Red Gourd open this thing?" Lin Shen suggested Xiaona give it a try.

Xiaona immediately summoned the Red Gourd, attempting to absorb the Chaos Egg within.

The Red Gourd tilted skyward, its opening facing the ground. As Xiaona chanted the Secret Language, the gourd's mouth emitted an eerie purple-red vortex that started twisting the Chaos Egg, causing the floor beneath them to bulge upward, drawing the egg within.

Seeing this, the group was initially filled with hope—the Red Gourd seemed to be working.

But their smiles didn't last long. The Red Gourd relentlessly sucked the Chaos Egg inward, but the egg remained unbroken. As it continued, the space inside the egg shrank, threatening to suck them, along with the Chaos Egg, into the gourd—possibly even Xiaona herself.

Lin Shen couldn't tell whether the gourd would ultimately consume the entire Chaos Egg or find itself enveloped by it instead. Regardless, they would not live to see the outcome.

Hurriedly, Lin Shen instructed Xiaona to halt and release the portion she had absorbed.

The section of the Chaos Egg sucked inside rebounded outward, instantly reverting to its original state, indistinguishable from before.

"Looks like I'll have to try my Finger Sand next," Lin Shen declared, raising his hand for an attempt on the curved wall.

With the enhancement of his Super-Base Divine Shot, Finger Sand possessed the characteristic of being Indomitable and penetrating anything in its path. Lin Shen was uncertain whether its properties could break through the Chaos Egg.

After all, this exam was designed for Great Emperors, capable of challenging even the most resilient artifacts that hadn't returned to their peak.

Pop!

Lin Shen's Finger Sand landed on the curved wall, surprisingly punching through it, leaving a tiny hole.

The Chaos Egg, though only punctured by a small hole, exploded like a balloon pierced by a pin. The scenery outside instantly revealed itself to the group.

An endless desert stretched across their vision, littered with gigantic Chaos Eggs, resembling massive bird eggs sprawled across the sands. Their sheer number made them impossible to count—everywhere they looked, multicolored Chaos Eggs filled the horizon.

"Question Two: Graduation Prize. Choose one egg to shatter. Among millions of eggs, only one contains the Graduation Pet. You have one chance to find it." That eerie voice echoed again, reverberating through the air.
