Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 231 - 231: Unloading Force

Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Unloading Force

“Fine by me,” Lin Shen said indifferently upon hearing him rationalize such an unscrupulous act as if he had done a great deed. He was too lazy to waste any more words on him.

“Have you really thought it through?” Ximen Swordsman asked, elated at the response.

“I’ve thought it through. As long as you can defeat me, take whatever you want,” Lin Shen said, drawing out the Death Powder and pointing it at Ximen Swordsman.

“Then it’s a deal,” Ximen Swordsman didn’t waste words, and thrust his sword directly at Lin Shen.

His sword was fast, and its blade was thin, not suitable for hacking but for thrusting, aiming purely for speed.

His sword might be fast, but Lin Shen’s spear was faster and even longer.

Ximen Swordsman’s sword couldn’t touch Lin Shen; the spear was already in front of him, forcing Ximen Swordsman to dodge and try to close in.

Lin Shen’s spear missed, and as Ximen Swordsman managed to close the distance, it seemed Lin Shen was out of good options.

Seeing his chance, Ximen Swordsman aimed to sever Lin Shen’s spear-wielding hand with a swift stroke, but Lin Shen parried across with his spear, blocking the blow.

“You’re still young,” said Ximen Swordsman as his sword touched the spear only briefly, not using brute strength but maneuvering to slash at Lin Shen’s neck.

Unfortunately, as soon as his sword moved, the Death Powder in Lin Shen’s hand, like a venomous snake, had already coiled around Ximen Swordsman’s sword-wielding arm.

Ximen Swordsman had never seen such an odd weapon and immediately tried to grab the Death Powder with his other hand, attempting to pull it off.

But as soon as his hand touched the Death Powder, it wrapped around further, entangling his other arm as well.

Lin Shen, holding the other end of the Death Powder, gave it a forceful swing, sending Ximen Swordsman flying.

Swirling the Death Powder above his head like a lasso, Ximen Swordsman, with both arms caught, was swung around and around in the air, his head spinning.

It was unfortunate there weren’t any large trees or beams to hang him from.

Suddenly, a carapace appeared on Ximen Swordsman’s body, inflating like a balloon, and then contracted sharply, creating a gap in the Death Powder’s entanglement.

Seizing the opportunity, Ximen Swordsman broke free and landed on the ground, staring intently at Lin Shen, “Not bad, is that thing a weapon or a pet?”

“Who said pets can’t be used as weapons?” Lin Shen responded with a smile.

“That’s true, no one said pets can’t be weapons.” Ximen Swordsman nodded, his gaze still fixed on Lin Shen.

Lin Shen kicked the sword that had fallen to the ground back to Ximen Swordsman: “Your sword.”

“I can’t use a sword against you anymore,” Ximen Swordsman caught the sword but planted it into the ground instead.

“So you’re saying you’re more formidable without your sword than with it?” Lin Shen asked, his interest piqued as he assessed him.

“That’s for you to judge,” Ximen Swordsman replied, charging at Lin Shen once more.

Lin Shen didn’t notice anything special about his punch; its speed and strength were not greater than when he had wielded his sword.

Lin Shen swung the Death Powder, launching another straight thrust.

Ximen Swordsman brought his hands together and astonishingly caught the spear between them.

The Death Powder, attempting to repeat its earlier trick, started to coil again.

However, this time, Ximen Swordsman rubbed his hands together and the Death Powder’s body immediately began to spin like a drill bit.

Taken by surprise, Lin Shen’s hands were jolted from the Death Powder.

Ximen Swordsman grabbed the spinning Death Powder, swung it around in his hands a few times, and then tossed it back to Lin Shen.

“Now we’re even,” Ximen Swordsman said with an icy face.

“`

“This spiral force is a bit formidable,” Lin Shen caught the Death Powder, which was still spinning in his hand. He gripped it tightly before it finally stopped.

“No one said you couldn’t use spiral force, did they?” Ximen Swordsman said as he charged forward again.

Lin Shen didn’t use his full strength, only maintaining his power at a level similar to Ximen Swordsman’s, and battled with him.

Soon, Lin Shen noticed that this Ximen Swordsman wasn’t as dominant as Ouyang Yudu nor did he possess the comprehensive combat skills of Wei Wufu, but his ability to control force was very special.

Back at Sky Star Slope, Ouyang Yudu had also used the technique of leveraging force, but for Ouyang Yudu, it was just that—a technique.

Ximen Swordsman seemed to have become a converter; any force that reached him could be transformed.

Others used the technique of leveraging force, but he used the force of others as if it were his own. When a spear tip struck him, his muscles indented inward, and then he managed to bounce the spear tip back out.

“Is this guy really human? He’s trained his body to such an extent, he’s practically a monster,” Lin Shen knew there were only two ways to break Ximen Swordsman’s technique of deflecting force.

One was to use absolute strength or speed, so that he didn’t have time to transform the force, and naturally, it could be broken.

Lin Shen’s strength was sufficient, and with Death Powder’s armor-piercing and instant speed skills, there was a good chance of breaking it.

The other method was to find his flaw and use skill to break Ximen Swordsman’s technique of deflecting force.

No matter how well a person trains their body, it’s impossible to train every bit to deflect force. As long as you find the part of his body that can’t deflect force, which is his weak point, you can break his technique of deflecting force.

Lin Shen was quite interested in his technique of deflecting force, so he didn’t use the method of overpowering him; instead, he took the opportunity to test the results of his hard practice over this period of time.

Although Ximen Swordsman could deflect force with his entire body, Lin Shen’s moves were too unpredictable and bizarre, especially when paired with Death Powder, reaching an absurd level.

Many moves were unseen and unheard of by Ximen Swordsman, which made it very difficult for him to cope.

It wasn’t easy for Ximen Swordsman to borrow Lin Shen’s force and counterattack.

Especially when Death Powder wound around him, it made Ximen Swordsman very uncomfortable.

He wasn’t afraid of solid weapons, but this kind of soft weapon was very unfriendly to him.

The two continued to fight without either gaining an advantage.

“I’m done fighting,” Ximen Swordsman suddenly retreated, jumping out of the fray, and shaking his head, he said.

“Why are you stopping?” Lin Shen asked in confusion.

“Your pet weapon’s moves are too damn sneaky, it’s uncomfortable to fight,” Ximen Swordsman said, then mounted his ride, turned around, and left.

“Don’t you want your stuff?” Lin Shen called out.

“Can’t win, no face to take it, next time I beat you, I’ll take your stuff,” Ximen Swordsman didn’t look back and sprinted away, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

“That guy’s pretty interesting,” Lin Miao said with a laugh.

“If you were weaker than him and he was your enemy, then you wouldn’t find him interesting,” Lin Shen had no interest in Ximen Swordsman; with the countdown just a few days away, he had to keep working hard.

Ximen Swordsman was just a Mutator, and it wasn’t easy to win against him with skill, let alone against an Ascender.

Lin Shen didn’t know that Ximen Swordsman was someone who had the record of killing Ascenders, not just an ordinary Crystal Base.

Even if Ouyang Yudu and Wei Wufu came, they couldn’t be sure they could beat him.

A few days later, when the countdown ended, Lin Shen and Lin Miao were ready, waiting for the last second of the countdown to arrive.

Finally, when the countdown hit zero, the two felt the scenery before their eyes shift, and they found themselves back in that familiar living room.
