Super Gene Ⅱ: Evolution

Chapter 600 Blade Wind Current

Lin Shen felt that he should start paying the elderly at the Celestial Master Institute some wages and benefits.

He had originally thought it was just a retirement home, but it turned out to be a place filled with hidden dragons and crouching tigers.

Debts owed to others could be put off, but the wages and benefits owed to his own family should be paid out.

After seeing An Sai off, Wei Wufu was no longer busy and was asked to stay here for the time being, while Lin Shen himself returned to Silent Residence.

At Silent Residence, he studied the Scrap Sword Blade Technique and realized that this skill could only be use with a Scrap Sword or a scabbard.

Using other weapons or even hands could perform the skill, but the effect was significantly worse, nowhere near as good as using the Scrap Sword; it was virtually impossible to cut through another's Strength levels.

Lin Shen incorporated the techniques of the Scrap Sword into the Bloodlife Blade Skill, and also made some modifications to the previous routine.

The previous approach clearly had issues, being somewhat useful only in one-on-one situations with a fairly narrow application range.

After incorporating the Scrap Sword Skill into the Bloodlife Blade Skill, Lin Shen returned to a purely defensive routine. Without Death Powder, he had to rely on this blade technique to protect his life, so he practised it extremely diligently.

With this blade skill, it wouldn't be so easy for an ordinary Nirvana Being to take his life.

During practice, Lin Shen had an epiphany while using the Scrap Sword Skill with a crossing motion of the sword and scabbard.

He thought of the principle of scissors. Perhaps the effect would be even better if the Scrap Sword and scabbard were used together in the art of the Scrap Sword.

Upon trying it, he found the result was surprisingly effective. His own Surfing Fist Force could easily be cut through with a single snip.

Therefore, Lin Shen adjusted the Bloodlife Blade Skill once again, perfectly creating a combined strike technique with the sword and scabbard.

Practicing alone, he wasn't sure how strong the Bloodlife Blade Skill really was, so Lin Shen went to the Celestial Master Institute and called over Lin Wan to be his practice partner once more.

Lin Wan felt somewhat helpless when she heard that Lin Shen wanted her to accompany him in practice again, "Ignoring the real gods, you just have to train blindly on your own. What can you possibly achieve?"

However, she couldn't bring herself to say this to Lin Shen's face and could only continue to be his sparring partner.

Lin Wan was initially planning to just go through the motions, but when she saw Lin Shen standing there with his sword still in its sheath, she felt that something was different from before.

Lin Wan, looking at Lin Shen holding the sword hilt, suddenly felt a sense of being at a loss as to where to begin. It was as if any angle she chose to attack from would be met with Lin Shen's counter.

"In just a few days, this kid has managed to cultivate his sword technique to a stage of momentum," Lin Wan thought with slight surprise. Discover hidden content at My Virtual Library Empire

But that was just a small surprise. Such a sword momentum was easily broken by Lin Wan.

She summoned her own sword and thrust it towards Lin Shen.

Lin Shen immediately drew his sword to slash at Lin Wan's, with such a forceful momentum that it split her sword right in half.

With each subsequent thrust of her sword, Lin Shen's blade met hers with fierce chops. Although every move was defensive, it gave off a ferocious and tiger-like impression.

Lin Wan found it somewhat unexpected; Lin Shen's sword technique was truly eccentric. It appeared to still be her method of defensive maneuvers for both hands, yet he had trained it to be both ruthless and fierce.

The moves were clearly defensive, yet the aura felt as if he was about to cleave someone alive, indescribably bizarre.

"I'm done training," Lin Shen suddenly sheathed his sword and stepped back.

"Why have you stopped training?" Lin Wan asked with some confusion.

"Your level is too low. Sparring with you, I can't unleash the true power of my blade technique," Lin Shen explained as he put Scrap Sword back in its scabbard and ceased practicing with Lin Wan.

After all, Lin Wan was only at Ascension level, and during practice he dared not use the Scrap Sword Skill for fear of severing Lin Wan's Life Base. Continuing to practice seemed pointless.

Lin Wan almost had her defenses broken by that remark, thinking to herself, "You actually despise my low level? If I were to use my full strength, a mere breath from me could finish you off."

Unfortunately, she had set her own identity as a Tenth Turn Ascension, and she couldn't destroy her persona, so she had to forcefully swallow this resentment.

"Dean, if you want to practice your blade technique, I can actually recommend a place to you. It's much better than finding someone else to practice with," Lin Wan narrowed her eyes, seemingly having thought of an idea, and quickly followed Lin Shen, speaking from behind him.

"What place?" Lin Shen asked, uninterested.

Practicing blade technique obviously made sense in actual combat, and one could only truly gauge the proficiency of their blade technique by sparring with experts.

Lin Wan continued to explain, "Blade Wind Star. On that planet, there's a kind of wind that can form blades of air when it blows, much like Blade Qi flying from different angles. It's perfect for practicing blade techniques."

"Tell me more," said Lin Shen as he listened to Lin Wan and checked the data on Blade Wind Star with his communicator.

After looking at the information about Blade Wind Star, he found it really was as Lin Wan had said, an excellent place to practice blade techniques.

The winds on Blade Wind Star were unusual; instead of being omnipresent when they blew, they formed streams of wind akin to Blade Qi, and they were visible to the naked eye.

Blade Wind Star was also a planet under the Celestial Race, but ordinary people didn't have the authority to teleport there. For decades, only members of the Imperial Family could enter Blade Wind Star.

Lin Shen had the clearance to visit Blade Wind Star, and thought it would be a good opportunity to test his blade technique there.

However, to avoid any unexpected incidents, Lin Shen contacted Tian Buluo to accompany him to Blade Wind Star. If anyone wanted to plot against him, with Tian Buluo by his side, no one would dare make a move on Blade Wind Star.

Watching Lin Shen leave, Lin Wan's lips curved upward slightly, "I'm curious to see how well you've mastered my reverse grip technique."

Tian Buluo happened to be free, and upon hearing that Lin Shen wished to practice his blade technique on Blade Wind Star, he gladly agreed to join him.

After the two teleported to Blade Wind Star, Lin Shen discovered that it truly was a strange planet.

The whole planet looked like a giant desert, without mountains or water. A demonic wind blew past, and the sky surprisingly filled with many white, blade-like streams of air, as if countless flying swords were streaking across the sky.

"The air currents on Blade Wind Star are quite peculiar," Tian Buluo paused and then continued. "It is said that many eons ago, the planet was covered with mountain ranges. But due to the constant scouring by the Blade Wind, all the peaks were destroyed, leaving behind only these sands."

Tian Buluo paused again and continued, "Blade Wind Star is divided into several regions, each with slightly different Blade Winds. However, the Blade Winds on the surface of the planet aren't too powerful, at most it's equivalent to the strength of the Ascension Level. The higher you go, the stronger the Blade Wind becomes. Those flickering Blade Qi in the sky have destructive power that can reach the Nirvana Level."

"Let's find a place with less destructive power to try first," Lin Shen said, eager to try.

In the midst of their conversation, a gust of wind blew over. Strands of white mist, shaped like blades, mixed with the wind and assaulted them.

The two summoned their Carapaces, and as the Blade Qi collided with it, it immediately shattered. The Blade Qi in this area was only of Base Mutation Level standard at best.
