Chapter 605: 1001 Solutionless Skills
The imperial child of the Celestial Race on Supreme Star received no special treatment either.
After they were sent to the hotel, Hua Lina and the others left an embassy staff to help them deal with daily issues, and then all the diplomats left.
Early the next day, the staff drove them to the Supreme Academy.
It was only after arriving at the Supreme Academy that Lin Shen realized why Tian Yunxiang was so disregarded—it wasn't that she was disregarded, but rather, she was already given considerable attention.
During this time, the Supreme Academy was enrolling students. Many people from various races came to Chonggao Star to take the admission test—princes and princesses were a dime a dozen.
Everyone came on their own; no one was there to greet them.
The Supreme Clan having Hua Lina welcome Tian Yunxiang had already shown great respect to Emperor Tianshu.
"The Supreme Clan truly lives up to its reputation as the universe's foremost race, embracing all rivers' flow. Such magnanimity and grandeur are beyond comparison for ordinary races," Tian Yunxiang stood at the gate of the Supreme Academy deeply inhaling as if even the air was sweet.
Lin Shen secretly snickered, "Your comment is indirectly insulting your own race."
Looking around, Tian Yunxiang did not see Di Esi and couldn't help but feel very disappointed.
After Lin Shen and the others sent her into the examination hall, they strolled around in the academy's public areas. The whole testing process would take a full day, and the security inside the examination hall was handled by the Supreme Clan, which did not allow non-examinees to enter.
The treatment of all the examinees from different races was the same; no exceptions were made.
It is said that several Immortals were stationed inside the examination hall, and that the Supreme Academy itself had many Immortal teachers, so no one dared to cause trouble here.
"People of the Supreme Clan sure know how to enjoy life; this place is much better than Giant Ring Star's environment," Ye Xing commented.
"There are so many plants here, yet not a single Base Mutation plant, which is quite rare," the group chatted as they continued their walk.
The academic atmosphere of the Supreme Academy was exceptional, everywhere one could see groups of beings from different races discussing various issues.
They didn't reject outsiders joining in the discussion, nor did they mind someone listening in on their conversations. There were even individuals who deliberately spoke loudly, promoting their own theories to those passing by.
After listening for a while, Lin Shen and the others realized that many of the issues being discussed were highly advanced Evolution Skills or techniques, some of which included theories and innovations they had never heard of. Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire
"If I had the opportunity to study here when I began practicing, maybe I could have become something great," Lin Shen mused.
"The basic entrance requirement for the Supreme Academy is to be a natural Ascender. We humans probably don't even have anyone who could meet that threshold, let alone enroll. Just qualifying to apply is out of question," Ouyang Yudu said with a laugh, "Besides, you didn't attend the Supreme Academy, and you're still a top entity. Even if you had enrolled, it wouldn't have made you any better than you are now."
Lin Shen was about to say something when he heard a voice from nearby, "The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean; self-important ignoramuses."
When they turned their heads to look, they saw a person with dragon wings on his back standing in front of one of the electronic blackboards that were prevalent throughout the academy, busily scribbling away.
He didn't turn around, but since he was the only person there, it was clear he was the speaker.
Ye Xing and Ye Yun, feeling slighted, wanted to confront him and demand why he was insulting them, but Lin Shen stopped them.
"We don't need to concern ourselves with what others say," Lin Shen didn't want to waste his words.
"Is it because we don't need to, or because we lack the ability to?" To their surprise, the man made another sarcastic comment.
"Friend, we have no quarrel with you, do we?" Lin Shen frowned and addressed him.
"Who's your friend? You're not worthy," the man turned around, his face handsome but his expression icy.
"It seems you know me," Lin Shen responded coolly, not taking offense.
"Why should I know you?" the man scoffed.
"If you don't know me, how do you know I'm not fit to be your friend?" Lin Shen retorted.
The man was momentarily taken aback, seemingly not expecting Lin Shen to respond in that manner, but he quickly recovered, his expression freezing as he said, "People who don't even qualify to enter the academy but look down upon it are nothing but frogs at the bottom of a well, certainly not fit to be my friends."
"If not entering the Supreme Academy means being 'frogs at the bottom of a well,' then your well is too small," retorted Ye Xing.
"Disagree? Take a look at this; if you can solve it, I'll take back what I said," the man pointed to the blackboard.
Such electronic blackboards were a common sight within the Superior Academy, located on playing fields, in gardens, along corridors, virtually everywhere.
Anyone could jot down their thoughts on these blackboards whenever they wished, or use them to present and validate points during discussions with others.
Lin Shen and the others had already seen many students writing and energetically debating on these blackboards.
Some of the problems were indeed profound, and their discussions were not short of top-level skill conundrums.
Lin Shen, not wanting to argue with a student, was about to leave when Ye Xing had already approached the blackboard to examine its contents.
After looking for a while without speaking and furrowing his brows, Ye Xing's expression grew increasingly strained.
The man stood by with arms folded, his face full of mockery, thinking, "As I thought, a bunch of frogs at the bottom of a well, ignorant and unaware of the One Thousand and One Unsolved Skill—yet daring to attempt to solve it."
Of course, Lin Shen and the others didn't know what the One Thousand and One Unsolved Skill was; in fact, most people wouldn't know.
It was a collection compiled by the Supreme Academy, consisting of one thousand and one techniques that had yet to be solved.
Although deemed 'unsolved,' whether solutions existed was uncertain. Of the original one thousand and one solutionless skills that were gathered a long time ago, the name had stuck even though there are now over a hundred thousand techniques included in the list.
Of the initial batch, more than half had already been solved, leaving only a little over a hundred still classified as unsolved.
The problem this person was studying, "Inviting the Gentleman into the Jar," was one of those unsolved skills that had remained unsolvable since the One Thousand and One Unsolved Skill was first introduced.
This dilemma was also well-known among the major races; hence the man's assumption that Lin Shen and his companions were ignorant frogs at the bottom of a well, unfamiliar with such a prominent problem, and yet audaciously thinking they could solve it.
In a way, the man wasn't entirely wrong; the Ye sisters had been living a covert life on Giant Ring Star, and Lin Shen and his two companions had only recently ventured into the cosmos, so their experience was indeed limited. Describing them as 'frogs at the bottom of a well' wasn't incorrect.
Seeing that Ye Xing remained silent, Lin Shen and the others also approached and looked at the content written on the blackboard.
