Chapter 164:At the Set_1
After coming to a decision, Bright shut off his phone.
Then, he walked to the open-air swimming pool in the backyard.
With a leap, he jumped into the water and started swimming.
The next morning, after giving instructions to Elaine, Bright got into his Lykan and hit the road.
Once the car hit the freeway, the Lykan maintained a steady speed of 120 kilometers an hour.
With Bright's aggressive speed, the two and a half hour journey was shortened to under two hours.
At 10:30, he arrived at the edge of Westinn Lake.
Bright was not quite sure where exactly Melody had recent filmed at Westinn Lake.
However, the film was directed by Kai and featured several big name movie stars.
Therefore, after briefly asking the staff at the filming site, Bright understood where the movie was being shot.
It was near St. Leon church by Ninth River.
After parking the car in Westinn Lake's parking lot, Bright rented a bicycle and rode it towards St. Leon church.
...….
St. Leon church was not very far away.
It only took ten minutes for Bright to arrive at the church.
Meanwhile, in St. Leon Church, the production crew of The Legend of the Demon Cat was taking a break.
Melody, who played the second female lead was sitting in a chair, silently reciting her lines.
The rest of the actors around her were all ignoring Melody.
Many people even avoided her as if she were the plague.
After all, when Melody first joined the cast of the Legend of the Demon Cat, she had offended the male lead, Lucas Shaw, on her first day on set.
Lucas was a hot new celebrity, he was a big name in the industry.
Melody, on the other hand…
Even though she had landed the role of the second female lead, she didn't have anything to her name.
She had no background, no management agency and no contacts.
Someone like her had offended the popular, big name male lead.
Essentially, she was done for.
However, everyone else was somewhat puzzled as well.
How has such a person with nothing landed the role of the second female lead?
Despite that, lately, she only kept to herself. She didn't even have an assistant.
She didn't even have any high-end clothes. It was obvious that she didn't have a strong background at all.
Other actor all showed up completely dressed up. At the very least, they had makeup artists and stylists to help them out.
On the other hand, it was obvious from the first glance that Melody hadn't prepared anything.
It was simply too puzzling.
...….
At that moment, a plump actress walked over.
She smiled at Melody, and said, "Melody, still memorizing your lines, huh?"
"Yeah. I'm still not too familiar with the lines for the upcoming scene, Lena. I'm planning to memorize them again so I can get a good understanding of the lines and the character's emotions." Melody explained.
"You don't have to memorize it so meticulously. They're not shooting the whole scene in one go, just familiarize yourself with the snippets of lines before shooting. That should do." Lena replied with a smile.
Even so, Melody shook her head and said, "That won't do, I really hope to familiarize myself with the character's emotions in this part so that I can play the role better when it's time to film."
Upon hearing Melody's words, Lena clicked her tongue in surprise.
"Wow! Melody, you are really dedicated, huh? No wonder you could land the role of the second female lead even though you don't have a background or any agency representing you." She remarked.
When Melody heard that, she was a little perplexed and dubious.
After all, she was no longer the newbie who just landed the role of the second female lead.
Over time, she had gained a better understanding and began to notice something.
Even minor characters in the cast often had some kind of support behind them.
People like her, without any background or support, usually only got roles of background characters.
Clearly, there was something off about the fact that she had managed to become the second female lead.
Not to mention, she was personally picked by the director.
During their conversation, someone who seemed like an assistant approached them, looking around as if she was searching for something.
Upon spotting the assistant, their expressions instantly turned sour.
At that moment, the assistant noticed Melody and immediately walked over without hesitation.
The assistant said rudely demanded, "Stand up!"
"What are you doing?!" Lena got up abruptly, glaring at the assistant furiously.
"Lucas needs an extra chair for his legs." The assistant stated indifferently.
"Can't you see that Melody is sitting down?" Lena continued to stand her ground without backing down.
When Melody heard that, she was startled and tugged at Lena.
"Okay. So what? Lucas wants to stretch his legs, so she had to get up. How could a minor character like her compare to Lucas?" The assistant scoffed.
Lena was infuriated at that.
"You guys are being way too bossy!" She exclaimed.
"Tsk! So what if we are? What can you do about it?"
The assistant rolled her eyes and turned her gaze to Melody. "Aren't you going to hurry up and get up? If Lucas gets tired, you will have to pay for it!"
"You…!"
"Forget about it, Lena. Let's just give them the chair, I can just squat here while rehearsing my lines." Melody hastily said while pulling Lena away.
The assistant watched with her head held high as Melody stood up.
"Hmph! That's more like it."
She was about to grab the chair when she suddenly heard a languid voice from not far away.
"Go ahead. Try laying a finger on that chair."
"Who…?" The assistant frowned instantly.
Then, she turned her gaze towards the entrance.
A tall man was walking in.
Melody was visibly taken aback at the sight of him.
"Bright?"
Melody was stunned while staring at Bright, who had just walked in.
A hint of surprise showed on her face instantly.
She had not expected to see Bright on set.
Instantly, her heart was brimming with joy. She quickly ran over.
Looking at Bright, she asked, "What brings you here, Bright?"
