Chapter 266: Dave vs Goku
A surge of excitement passed through the group as Goku took a few steps back, cracking his knuckles. "Alright, no holding back!"
He shot into the air and flared into Super Saiyan Blue, his aura bursting outward like a storm of lightning and wind. The ground beneath him cracked from the pressure.
Dave's green aura slowly reignited as he transitioned into his Legendary Super Saiyan form, his body bulking slightly, muscles tightening, and eyes glowing with an intense yellow-green hue. The sheer power that radiated from him made the surrounding air shimmer.
"Let's see if you can keep up," Dave smirked.
Boom!
They collided midair with a deafening explosion. Shockwaves rippled out as their fists met, creating a sonic boom that shook the nearby mountains.
Goku twisted midair and spun into a flurry of kicks, lightning-fast, but Dave blocked them all with his forearms, barely moving an inch. Then, with one punch, he sent Goku flying across the sky.
Goku grinned even as he tumbled, flipping back and charging a Kamehameha in midair. "Kame… Hame… HAA!!"
The energy beam rocketed toward Dave, illuminating the battlefield.
Dave crossed his arms as the blast hit, the explosion engulfing him in a flash of blue light.
But when the smoke cleared… he was still standing. Unscathed.
"That all?" Dave asked, then vanished, appearing behind Goku instantly.
Before Goku could react, Dave slammed him down to the ground with a powerful elbow to the back. The earth cracked beneath them as Goku bounced off the ground.
From the sidelines, Vegeta's jaw tightened, watching with a mix of awe and irritation.
"Damn it… he's not bluffing. That strength is real," he muttered.
Dave dropped beside Goku, who stood up slowly, bruised but grinning.
"I haven't had a fight this good in ages," Goku said. "But I'm not done yet!"
He powered up again—a red aura now engulfed around his body, making it partial red and blue, it was tha amplification technique of his.
"Oh?" Dave tilted his head. "Now it's getting fun."
They clashed again, the sky exploding with color as their blows lit up the heavens—every strike a blast, every movement a blur to the untrained eye. The power they unleashed began bending the land around them.
Even the Supreme Kai stepped back, shielding his face from the sheer pressure.
"Unbelievable… That Saiyan is on par with the Gods," he whispered.
The battlefield trembled beneath the weight of their clashing energy. With his red-and-blue aura blazing around him—Goku's Kaioken x20 stacked on Super Saiyan Blue—he charged Dave again, fist-first.
BOOM!
Their fists collided midair again, creating a shockwave that shattered the nearby cliffs and sent chunks of debris flying into the upper atmosphere. Goku's eyes were sharp, focused, but even with the Kaioken amplifying his strength, his face showed signs of strain—veins pulsing, sweat dripping down his brow.
Dave barely flinched.
"You're pushing your body way too hard," Dave said calmly, blocking a flurry of punches from Goku before countering with a gut-wrenching knee that sent the Saiyan flying back again.
Goku coughed mid-air but flipped upright with a grin. "Heh… Yeah, well… that's what makes it fun."
He launched forward again, using instant transmission to appear above Dave, throwing a punch downward.
But Dave was ready.
He caught the punch with one hand—completely still—and grinned. "Let me show you how I fight... when I stop holding back."
His green aura burst, doubling in size, flaring outward like a wild flame, and his muscles surged. The ground split open from the pressure.
CRACK!
Dave launched a single punch that sent Goku flying through a mountain, completely obliterating it.
Dust billowed in every direction. Goku lay buried in rubble, panting, his hair flickering as he struggled to hold the Kaioken in check.
"Not… bad…" he muttered.
Dave descended, the earth quaking with each slow step. "You've trained a lot. You're strong. But this isn't even my limit. I've trained for years, and I carry more than just Saiyan power."
He clenched his fists and slowly began radiating another layer of energy, darker this time—Dante's demonic aura surged faintly beneath the Saiyan energy.
The Supreme Kai gasped. "He's... layered multiple divine and demonic forces into his base. That's insane."
Vegeta gritted his teeth. "This guy's a freak… No wonder he's cocky."
Dave looked back at Goku, still lying half-buried.
"Fun match. You should rest," he said.
But Goku pushed himself up, trembling, blood dripping from his lip. "Not… yet."
Dave chuckled, turning away. "You're persistent. I'll give you that."
He looked up at the sky, feeling another presence watching from beyond.
"I sense someone powerful approaching…" he muttered.
Goku and the others paused as they also looked up, sensing something powerful descending. A moment later, Beerus, the God of Destruction, and Whis, the angel, appeared in the sky.
"Hmm… I sensed some wild energy flaring here, so I came to check it out," Beerus said, his golden eyes narrowing as they landed on Dave. "But who is this new Saiyan?"
The Supreme Kai began to explain nervously, but Dave cut in before he could finish. He looked at Beerus and asked casually, "Who's this walking, talking cat?"
A tense silence fell over the battlefield.
Beerus twitched, his eyes glowing with a dangerous glint as his aura briefly flared around him. Goku and Vegeta instinctively stepped back, sweat on their foreheads.
Behind Beerus, Whis raised his hand calmly, and let out an amused "Oh my…"
Vegeta, on the other hand, smirked, muttering, "Just when I thought that someone beat the hell out of him… this guy goes and mocks a God of Destruction."
Beerus stared at Dave for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then, to everyone's surprise, a small smirk tugged at the corners of his mouth.
"Heh... I like your guts," Beerus said with a chuckle. "It's been a while since someone dared to speak to me like that. Let me test this new Saiyan myself."
The ground trembled slightly at his words.
"Wait, Lord Beerus—!" the Supreme Kai started to protest, but Whis gently raised a hand to silence him, still smiling.
"Let him," Whis said. "It's rare he finds someone interesting enough to fight. Besides, I'm curious myself."
