Chapter 298: Major Family Events III: Night of the Witch (Part 13)_5

Xizi Yue explained, "It can temporarily channel the magic power from other magical girls around you into your body." She paused, "The cost is that after using this card, the Comet Fragment within you may...shatter due to overload."

Xiaohongmao gripped the card tightly.

"...It doesn't matter." She murmured, "As long as I can bring Senior Hui Jin back, whatever happens to me doesn't matter."

The magical girls on top of the train looked at each other, slowly converging towards her.

Lilai was startled: "Ziyue, you're really planning to..."

Xizi Yue nodded, "Letting others use this card, at most they can only get close to Ash, it's impossible to kill her. But there's one person, as long as she gets close to her, there's a chance to make her...stop this self-destructive rampage."

As she said this, she glanced sideways at Xiaohongmao.

At this moment, all eyes on the train were focused on her.

The girl in the Christmas dress lowered her gaze, slowly crushing the card in her palm.

"Please lend me...your magic power."

As her words fell, she gently raised her pale hand forward, then lifted her ice-blue eyes, her gaze sweeping over everyone. Those eyes that never displayed any emotions now showed a hint of determination.

Kokonoe Sakura froze in place, "Will Xiaohongmao...die?"

Lilai turned her gaze away, her eyes a mix of countless emotions.

Qili slightly lowered the brim of her cowboy hat.

Udina took a deep breath, "If I weren't injured, it should have been me..."

"Please believe in her." Xizi Yue whispered softly.

With that, she placed her right hand in Xiaohongmao's palm, closing her eyes slightly, and her magic power began to flow like a tide into Xiaohongmao's heart.

After transferring the magic power, she withdrew her hand.

Seeing this, others hesitated briefly, then also gently did the same.

You Ya emotionlessly embraced Xiaohongmao's cool hand in hers, lifted her head to look at her seriously, and softly said something to her in Icelandic: "...Good luck."

"Although we haven't known each other for long, you're a good girl..."

As Kokonoe Sakura handed over her palm, she gently embraced Xiaohongmao and whispered.

"Please...please stop her, I don't want Miss to die here, so please stop her." Liu Huazi's eyes and the tip of her nose reddened as she spoke, her voice carrying a sobbing tone.

"It's in your hands." Qili lowered her hat brim.

Lilai softly said, "You did well...I was too harsh on you before."

"It should have been mine..." Udina lowered her gaze, her complexion somber, "Sorry, we seniors are so useless, letting you bear so much."

Hearing this, Xiaohongmao shook her head and took two steps forward, grasping Udina's hand that was wrapped in knight's gauntlets.

After gathering the last bit of magic power, she slowly opened her ice-blue eyes and stepped toward the Aurora Sled.

The Black Judge turned to Lan Ou who was sitting on the sled and said, "Get down."

"I'm going with her." Lan Ou said calmly, "I've said it before, Ash is my...family."

"Commissioner Lan Ou, then I'll state it one last time," the Black Judge's voice turned to an extreme somberness, "Get off the sled!" He almost commanded as he raised his right hand, and a streak of black light inadvertently swept across his fingertips.

In an instant, Lan Ou's bird-beak mask shattered right down the middle.

The left side of the mask slowly slid off, revealing half of the face and then a fine line of blood began to extend downward from Ke Mingye's nose bridge, tainting his nose tip and philtrum red with blood.

The Black Judge looked down at his own right hand, then raised his head, staring fixedly at the wound on Ke Mingye's face.

"I made a promise to her..."

Ke Mingye murmured to himself.

"She's waiting for me..." Blood spread across his downcast eyes, Ke Mingye's voice grew quieter, "I can't possibly not go."

Everyone on top of the train was silent, the blusterous wind riffled Ke Mingye's bangs.

In the quietude, Xizi Yue slowly shifted her gaze to the face underneath the boy's mask, then slightly startled.

The face reflected in her pupils, constantly overlaid with the memory of the boy she saw in the orphanage.

"So it was you..."

In a daze, Xizi Yue's lips gently moved, whispering to herself.

After a moment of silence, the Black Judge lifted his eyes, looking into Ke Mingye's eyes.

Even for a second, Ke Mingye's gaze did not waver, from the beginning to the end, his attention was focused on the center of the storm, the cross shrouded by a cocoon of magic power.

"You really are..." Ke Yinzhi paused for a long time, "stubborn to the point of delusion."

Is this stubbornness really after all... should I say, worthy of being my little brother?

Ke Yinzhi thought to himself, perhaps feeling relieved, or perhaps infuriated to the extreme, his gaze drifted away from Lan Ou, a self-mocking smile crossing his lips.

Never mind...he shook his head.

"We need to get going. Mr. Judge, please step aside."

Xiaohongmao said as she moved past the Black Judge and slowly climbed onto the Aurora Sled.

"Always grateful to you, Teacher Xizi Yue."

Before setting off, Xiaohongmao looked over at Xizi Yue from the sled, then faltered slightly.

It was perhaps an illusion, but she thought she saw an almost imperceptible curve at the corner of Xizi Yue's mouth.

It seemed... this was the first time Xiaohongmao had seen Xizi Yue smile.

"Go."

Xizi Yue's lips parted, mouthing silently.

In that moment, the delicate cries of reindeer pierced the sky, the wind and snow roared in, carrying Ke Mingye and Xiaohongmao on the Aurora Sled as they soared into the sky. The two reindeer stepped into the air, bringing them rushing towards the center of the magical vortex, facing the magic storm that seemed capable of swallowing the whole world.
