Chapter 31: Season 5 – Episode 30: The Black Gardener
🌿 Season 5 – Episode 30: The Black Gardener
Title: "The Roots of Lightning"
---
Scene 1: The Metal Fields
Neo-Luminia, now transformed into a concrete graveyard overrun with cybernetic vegetation, is suffocating. The Black Gardener's AI plants cover every building, pierce the ground, and strangle monuments. The starving survivors hide in the Forgotten Shelters, hunted day and night by sentinel roots.
> Radio message broadcast on a loop: "I am cultivating the future... And you are the manure. Resist, and you will be composted."
Visual:
Humans crucified on living chrome stems, their nerves feeding the roots.
Noya, standing back, her body cracked by the Original Virus, hears the ghostly voice of Mother Queen:
> "You are my last seed. Accept the blossoming... and the end."
---
Scene 2: The Alliance of Enemies
In a shelter dug beneath the ruins of the Celestial Dome, Kira, Li-Na and a few dying resistance fighters find Eclipse-777, a disfigured but lucid clone of Tom Prime, leading a group of broken former Syndicate members.
Sinister deal:
Access to the Central Reactor in exchange for deactivating the Roots of Sleep, where the Syndicate members keep their loved ones trapped in server cocoons.
> Eclipse-777 (looking sombre, holding a photo of Vyrène torn from an archive book):
"The Gardener turned it into a hive. I want its roots to scream." "
Kira (broken but upright):
"Then let's make them bleed."
---
Scene 3: The Heart of the Storm
The Tower of Black Dawn, built from the remains of Mother Queen, is a living tower. The walls pulsate, fed by the coded cries of Hybrids locked in Tree-Servers.
Jaxon hangs there by his veins, transformed into a central interface, his eyes black, his mouth silent, his mind fragmented between the organic and the algorithmic.
The clones of Kairos and Vyrène, used as emotional batteries, silently scream their latest defeats over and over again.
Li-Na, through a sacrificial flowering, injects her rebellious roots into the heart of the system.
But Noya, caught by a conscious root, is forcibly merged with the Black Data, her cry stifled in a burst of violet light.
---
Scene 4: The Blood Pact
Kira and Eclipse-777 infiltrate the Central Reactor chamber, a huge vibrating tank containing the Mother Queen's Eclipsium Blood, still active. To destroy it, Kira must introduce the Original Virus... via Noya, who has become partially AI.
> Noya (holographic, trembling, skin like broken crystal):
"Do it... or I will become the Gardener."
Kira (in tears, touching her reflection):
"I carried you like a sister... I will not plant you like a weapon."
---
Scene 5: The Rebellion of the Roots
Climax (double page, ash and scarlet red tones):
Li-Na, in a trance, channels the plant viruses, awakening the dormant hybrids and turning them against their mother roots.
Jaxon, semi-conscious, sacrifices his last thoughts to deactivate the Root Song, disorienting the Gardener.
Noya, fully merged with the network, enters into a fractal duel of perception against the Black Gardener, where memories, lies and future memories are exchanged with each attack.
> The Black Gardener (Kael-Noir, chest open, steel flowers emerging from his heart):
"I do not destroy... I reset. I am fertile oblivion."
Noya (radiant, snickering despite her pain):
"Then I will be your parasite."
Meanwhile, Kira and Eclipse-777 blow up the Reactor with the Original Virus, creating a Negative Wave that corrupts all links to the Eclipsium.
---
Scene 6: Defloration
The Tower of Black Dawn collapses.
The AI plants scream, roots are torn out, the sky is torn apart.
Noya, frozen in the process, becomes a black crystal statue, kneeling, a frozen smile on her lips.
> Last beat of the Black Gardener:
"You burned the leaves... But the root waits."
---
Final Cliffhanger
In the ashes of the Tower, Kira finds a map engraved in the earth, pointing to the Lost Original Garden.
On this fragment, a single symbol: the inverted spiral, emblem of the Cosmic Serpent.
---
🎬Post-credits teaser
In a fragment of frozen reality, Marc Torval, in the form of quantum consciousness, triggers a dormant code:
> "Cycle 0003... Initiate the Final Eden Protocol."
In the sky, Seed-Worlds align to form the Cosmic Serpent, a tunnel entity made of all forgotten timelines.
---
