Supreme Casanova: Ultimate Harem System

Chapter 180: Focus, Hugo!

Hugo sat frozen on the couch, gripping the gaming pad like his life depended on it. His jaw clenched so tightly it was a miracle his teeth didn't shatter.

'Focus, Hugo, focus,' he chanted in his head, but his mind was an absolute mess.

He stared at the controller, his face a strange mix of panic and frustration, as if the small piece of plastic had just stolen all his money and left him in debt.

His eyes darted to Loli, who was sitting across from him with a smug grin that could rival the devil himself.

She was calm, relaxed, even enjoying a snack while he was fighting for his life. And then her voice cut through the silence like a sword.

"Wow," she said, giggling as she leaned back. "You're looking a bit nervous, Hugo. All bark and no bite, huh? I thought you said you'd discipline me tonight?"

Hugo flinched, his grip tightening on the controller. Her laughter rang out like a bell, light and teasing, but to him, it felt like the sound of doom.

'I've lost two matches and drawn one, he thought, his heart sinking. Two matches lost! And not just lost—annihilated! Then that one pathetic draw. I can't even call it a draw; it was pure luck!'

It was as if he was playing against the bit set to devil incarnate difficulty mode. And to think his opponent was little Loli!

He felt his face heat up at the memory of that humiliating scoreline. 'And now? Now she says she's getting serious?'

What the f*ck did that even mean? Was that even possible?!

His hands trembled as he tried to calm himself, but his thoughts spiraled once again.

'If she's just getting serious, that means she wasn't even using half her skills before. HALF! What kind of monster is this girl?! What have I gotten myself into?'

Desperation clawed at him. He couldn't lose again. He wouldn't lose again. "System!" he hissed under his breath, summoning his lifeline.

"Spend 30 Mastery Points to raise my Gaming Mastery to 50!"

Hugo couldn't afford to lose. Losing meant tutu!

The system chimed in his mind with an approving sound, and then—WHAM! The pain hit him like a sledgehammer to the skull.

This time, he was caught completely off guard. The pain was shocking.

Hugo's head snapped back, and a blinding white light flooded his vision. It was like someone had taken all the knowledge of every game ever created and forcefully crammed it into his brain.

His temples throbbed, his body jerked uncontrollably, and his fingers spasmed around the controller.

"F*ck!" he gasped, his voice strangled as his body twitched like a puppet on tangled strings.

His muscles tensed, his shoulders shuddered, and for a moment, he thought he might actually die right there on the couch.

"HUGO?!" Loli screamed, jumping off the couch in a panic. She rushed to his side, her eyes wide with terror. "Oh my god, what's happening to you?! Are you okay?! Talk to me!"

She knelt beside him, frantically waving her hand in front of his face. "Hugo, are you having a seizure?! Should I call an ambulance? Do you need water? Food? Oxygen?!"

Her hands fluttered around him like she didn't know what to do. Finally, she grabbed a glass of water, nearly spilling it in her haste, and tried to press it to his lips. "Here, drink this!"

Hugo, still twitching like a malfunctioning robot, managed to wave her off weakly. "I'm… fine," he croaked, his voice barely audible.

He was having some bittersweet feelings at that moment.

'Oh man, she's worried about me. That's sweet… But also embarrassing. Focus, Hugo, focus!'

"Fine?!" Loli snapped, her voice high-pitched with worry. "You're spasming like a dying fish! This is not fine!"

"No, really," Hugo said, forcing a weak laugh as he tried to sit up straighter. "It's just… uh, gamer stuff. You know, when you get really into the zone, and your brain… kind of overheats?"

He winced at how ridiculous it sounded, but it was all he could come up with. Should he tell her he was cheating and directly buying gaming knowledge and muscle memory from an invisible system?

Loli frowned, crossing her arms as she glared at him. "Gamer stuff? Hugo, you looked like you were about to explode!"

"Well," Hugo said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly, "maybe I got a little too focused. Happens to the best of us, right?"

She stared at him for a long moment, then sighed heavily. "You're insane," she muttered, shaking her head as she handed him the water.

"But if this happens again, I'm calling an ambulance. Got it?"

"Got it," Hugo said, taking a long sip of water. Inside, though, his mind was racing.

'Holy crap. The gaming knowledge I just got… it's insane!' His hands flexed around the controller, and a wave of confidence surged through him.

'The controller feels like an extension of my arm! I know thousands of tricks, strategies, combos… It's like I've been training for this my entire life!'

His lips curled into a smirk as he glanced at 'Loli. This is it. The ultimate comeback. She won't know what hit her.'

He sat up straighter, his eyes blazing with determination. "Alright," he said, his voice steady and confident. "Let's play another match."

Loli raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "You sure? Or do you need another round of 'gamer stuff' first?"

Hugo's smirk widened. "Oh, don't worry about me. I'm ready now. And this time, I'm going to destroy you."

Loli chuckled, shaking her head as she picked up her controller. "You're so dramatic. Let's see what you've got, Mr. All Talk."

Oh, you'll see all right, Hugo thought, his confidence soaring as the match began. This time, it's my turn to shine.
