Chapter 310: You're cool, buddy! You're really cool!
"Ha ha ha ha! Come on, bitches, attack!" shouted Idan, drawing the attention of the five platinum-ranked women to himself.
Another mental attack hit him, but the pendant deflected most of the damage, and only a small part of it reached Idan. He had already been subjected to incessant bombardment before, so he did not feel this attack.
Idan just smiled broadly after that.
"Unlike those three, these five have a rank not limited to gold. Because of the portal, the restrictions of the world have weakened, and the rank of these bitches has become platinum." As always, Idan began to analyze his enemies.
Idan was in no hurry to use his element of light, saving it for the right moment.
The women looked at Idan and smiled broadly, like the three he had already dealt with. One of them, who had the most inscriptions on her body, behaved somewhat passively, allowing the others to act.
Idan noticed this and sighed to himself, realizing that this woman was the strongest of the five.
Realizing that their basic ability wasn't working on him, the women turned to physical attack. The inscriptions of all four gathered at their hands, transforming into a black weapon that was already painfully familiar to Idan.
"As far as I know, until creatures reach the Diamond Rank, they cannot fly," Idan said in his mind. "Only those races and creatures that have wings, like the Valkyries and me, can fly."
"Therefore, I have an advantage over these bitches!" thought Idan, remembering his wings. With their help, he could escape by soaring upwards.
However, Idan wasn't going to run away. He knew that as soon as he backed off, the attention of these girls would shift to Arabel, and of course he couldn't let that happen.
Idan decided to engage in a direct battle with four platinum-ranked outsiders in order to gain time for Arabel and, if possible, eliminate these bitches. To do this, he transformed his wings into six fiery blades.
Thanks to his previous battle experience, Idan has already determined the optimal number of blades that he can control with his Soul Force without losing too much concentration and strength.
Before Idan and the women could engage in close combat, a wave of chilling cold swept across the field.
This wave touched everyone, drawing everyone's attention to its source.
In the center of the wave was a snow-white ball created by Arabel's wings, pierced by many black spears.
Idan immediately recognized the culprit and, taking advantage of the distraction of the women, attacked them with his blades.
However, due to the difference in ranks, the women managed to dodge at the last moment. They looked at Idan with disdain, as if condemning him for such behavior. But he just grinned back.
"Who would stand by and miss such a chance in a life-or-death battle?" he exclaimed, rushing forward again and not allowing the women to do anything against Arabel.
Four of them focused their attention on Idan, but the fifth, the strongest of them, couldn't take her eyes off Arabel's sudden transformation. She could feel the power coming from the stranger, and just as she was about to come to her leader's aid, when Idan blocked her path.
"Where are you going?" asked Idan with obvious defiance.
Watching his brazen behavior, this woman got really angry. Her inscriptions began to move, but unlike the other four, they turned into two black flying blades that circled around her.
"Fuck!" was all Idan had time to exclaim when one of the blades almost hit his head. At the last moment, he managed to dodge, but the blade still grazed his left cheek, leaving a small wound that began to be infected with dark energy.
However, Idan didn't have time to think about his wound, because he barely had time to notice how the second blade was already flying towards him. The speed of this dark blade was so fast that Idan realized with horror that he would not be able to dodge it.
Clank!
To the surprise of Idan and the woman, the blade did not reach its target.
The blade was miraculously deflected by one of the fire blades created by Idan himself.
"How come!" exclaimed Idan, amazed by this incredible sight. He was completely confused, not understanding how he did it.
But what followed amazed him even more. The second dark blade was also deflected by another fiery blade, while the other four blades attacked the four women, preventing them from interfering with Idan.
"What's going on?" thought Idan, overcome with real fear of himself.
However, then he felt a familiar presence inside himself and how it was trying to communicate with him - this time in an unusual way, through feelings.
Idan focused on this sensation and almost fainted from surprise.
"Ned?" he called in his mind, and immediately got an answer.
"No way, Ned! It's you!" — Idan was delighted.
"But how?" he asked, and Ned replied that he didn't know how it was happening.
"Oh, shit!" — Idan dodged another dark blade attack. "Let's discuss this later!"
Idan himself wondered how he managed to communicate with Ned, even though he used the avatar ability and took control of Ned's body. However, to his surprise, Ned even took control of Idan's fire blades.
"Ned, I understand that I'm putting you in danger with my selfish act. After all, this is your body, and if I make a mistake and get hurt, you will get hurt, not me. So if you want, I'll give you back control of your body and ask you to help Arabel save her little brother."
Idan realized that his action was only limiting Ned's power. Unlike him, Ned was not limited by the System and could take the form of a platinum-ranked creature, allowing him to fight on equal terms with all the outsiders here. Realizing the complexity of the situation, Idan decided to abandon his idea and choose a more correct path.
"Huh? What?" The information Ned shared at that moment completely left Idan speechless.
"Damn!" exclaimed Idan, startled, and at the last moment dodged the dark blade. However, the blade still grazed him, leaving a deep wound on his shoulder.
"Ned! Are you serious?" asked Idan, completely shocked and oblivious to the pain.
"Ha ha ha ha!" laughed Idan, having received an affirmative answer from Ned. "You're the best, Ned. No, you're just cool!"
Idan suddenly remembered how Ned had turned into Sierra a couple of days ago. He paused, and then asked Ned hopefully:
"Ned, did you copy Lucinda by any chance?"
"What? Really? Are you kidding?"
"Ahahaha! You're cool, buddy! You're really cool!"
"Come on, partner, let's show these bitches what we can do when we work together!" Idan exclaimed to Ned, and immediately received an enthusiastic response.
But before Idan and Ned could begin to implement their plan, a new mysterious force appeared on the battlefield, which this time attacked Idan with incredible might.
The impact made Idan's mind go blank, and he almost lost consciousness. At that moment, he did not notice the dark blade, which, having escaped the influence of this force, pierced his right shoulder, slightly grazing his lungs, and pinned him to the nearest building.
Idan was having difficulty breathing from his wound, and a huge amount of black blood gushed out of his mouth.
"What was that?" Idan asked himself mentally. He was in a lot of pain. It was only later, when that woman approached him, that he realized that his transformation into the Alpha of Fire had been canceled, and all his fire blades had disappeared.
Idan realized with horror that he had just lost contact with the System.
