Felix raised his delicate, maiden-like hand to his fair cheek and tilted his head at the old man's response.

"I see, I see." He said with an adorable posture and tone, "Are you two the Carter and Subaru that Lady Emilia mentioned?"

Though Felix looked exactly like a real cat-eared girl, Adam Carter, knowing his true identity and gender, had already mentally categorized him as a problematic individual.

A male with ladylike speech and mannerisms, the aura of a little devil, and a master of crossdressing.

One look confirmed it — this was someone not to be messed with! A formidable character!

Just as Adam tried to distance himself, Felix took a quick step forward.

But his target wasn't the big strong guy — rather, it was the skinny kid who had been staring at him in a daze.

His slender fingers wrapped around Natsuki's neck, and his straight frame pressed against him without hesitation, causing the kid to awkwardly try dodging to the side.

However, Natsuki froze at his light command, "Don't move, let me get a good look!"

Their heights being similar, Felix's cheek was right next to his.

With the whispered voice and tickling breath in his ear, Natsuki — who had never been this close to a girl before — immediately froze up with a red face, struggling to keep his thoughts from turning vulgar.

"I see, I see." Felix nodded knowingly, then did something that shocked everyone present.

— He lightly bit Natsuki's ear.

"W-w-what are you doing?!" Natsuki cried out, his carefully maintained composure crumbling as he stumbled backward and fell.

His flustered reaction only excited the cat-eared man more.

"Hehe~ What an adorable reaction! I want to do more!" Swaying happily like a mischievous imp, he continued, "When I heard that voice, the flow of water in his body stopped immediately! Though I'd like to continue, unfortunately there's no time now, so it's impossible meow."

Such brazen remarks...

Adam's mouth twitched as he quickly stepped away from the crossdresser.

Sorry, but he had no intention of venturing down that particular path.

However, Felix clearly wasn't finished. After teasing Natsuki, he swiftly approached Adam.

With bewitching eyes, he bit his little finger and flashed a seductive, devilish smile. He clearly intended to employ the same teasing tactics he'd used on the skinny boy.

"Don't misunderstand, I was just examining his body." Felix explained his earlier behavior while eyeing Adam like a cat sizing up its prey.

Unfortunately, this enchanting fairy who could set one's blood aflame was actually a man!

Adam shuddered and instinctively retreated another step.

Fortunately, Felix didn't embrace him as he had Natsuki, instead fixing him with an intense stare. His cat-like pupils narrowed in concentration.

"Hmm hmm, I see, I see." He said with sudden seriousness, "Young man, you seem quite unusual. The flow of water is remarkable — could you have been blessed by the dragon?"

Flow of water? Was he referring to〔Advanced Water Element Affinity〕?

If so, he hadn't been blessed by the Dragon, but rather by the Goddess of Water.

Hearing this, Adam raised an eyebrow, "Why couldn't it be a Divine Protection?"

"Young man, saying it like that just confirms it's not a Divine Protection, doesn't it?" Felix's brown cat ears twitched with satisfaction at this discovery, "However, that's not how I determined it. What's in your body doesn't seem innate — it's more like something bestowed or granted by another."

"I see." Adam understood.

As expected of the man who surpassed Roswaal and earned the title of "Blue" — none could match him in his area of expertise.

"Indeed, as you say, what I have was bestowed by another." Adam acknowledged, "But it wasn't granted by the dragon — it was given by a goddess. To be specific, the Goddess of Water."

"Goddess of Water?"

The word "Goddess" naturally piqued one's curiosity, and Felix, being a cat Beast Human, was particularly intrigued.

"Her name is Aqua! The Goddess of Water, Aqua!" Adam declared proudly.

"Eh?!!!"

Before Felix could express surprise, Natsuki was utterly shocked. He thought Adam had gone too far, using that idiotic goddess's name to deceive people.

Then he wondered if he was doing this to get back at him by deliberately mentioning that name.

What he couldn't imagine was that Adam wasn't lying — this truly was Aqua's blessing!

"I see, I see." Felix nodded, his expression neutral, "If you have such excellent abilities, why not heal that person over there yourself, instead of seeking me out?"

The "person over there" Felix referred to was Natsuki, who needed healing after injuring his Gate by forcing himself to use magic during the Beast Attack incident.

{T/N: Gate is where the magic flows into a being so he can use magic. Overflow or overpressure this and you can injurie.}

The day after Natsuki was injured, Emilia had come to find Adam.

However, the〘Heal〙skill only worked on the physical body and couldn't treat the Gate, so Emilia had to seek Felix's help instead.

"I can't do it." Adam replied simply.

"Is that so?" Felix said with a hint of regret, "Even though your power is excellent — not inferior to my Water Magic."

But Adam wasn't disappointed.

He had told Emilia to add one condition to their deal: he would observe while Natsuki was being treated.

The purpose was obvious — he wanted to learn this healing technique!

"Felix, it's time to go." Wilhelm stepped forward, concerned about further delays.

"Ah, you're right." Felix glanced at the sun, realizing how much time had passed. Before departing, he added, "We'll meet again in the capital."

"Yes, let's meet again in the capital."

Adam and Natsuki waved as he left.

Once the dragon carriage had vanished from sight, Natsuki turned to Adam, "That girl was really cute, wasn't she?"

"He's male."

"Huh?"

"I said, that cat-eared girl is male."

"Ehhh?!!!"

Natsuki's shocked cry echoed through the air.
