Swallowed Star: The Zerg Overlord

Chapter 92: Chapter 89

Chapter 89: The Queen's Nest on the Verge of Being Cracked

"Has Babata made contact with Luo Feng yet?"

Qin Mu, whose consciousness was immersed in the Nest, adjusting the human gene evolution, received a message from the swarm. More than half of the monsters in the lake where Misty Island was located belonged to the swarm units.

As soon as Luo Feng entered the lake, he was discovered by the swarm. It was not Luo Feng who first noticed the Muye Crystal in the lake, but the swarm.

However, Qin Mu did not do anything special; he let things take their natural course. Qin Mu could roughly guess what Babata would say to Luo Feng after he received the inheritance. Qin Mu was not very concerned. Luo Feng would make his own judgments. As long as he did not do anything harmful to humanity, what was there to fear?

Qin Mu was also envious of the Yun Mo inheritance, but it was not the time to scheme for it yet. Qin Mu had a comprehensive plan for this, a plan that would benefit Luo Feng, himself, and even the entire Earth. There was no need to rush to find Luo Feng now. Once Luo Feng truly received the inheritance, he would observe on his own.

In fact, at this point, Qin Mu was not afraid of Luo Feng, Hong, Lei Shen, and Jia Yi finding out about his Zerg clone. What he feared was being discovered by other powerful beings in the universe before he had grown enough and before the Pinnacle Battle.

That would be a disaster.

Even without the inheritance, the naturally powerful soul of the Zerg Overlord would not find it too difficult to secure a position in the Pinnacle Battle. Once he entered the Beginning Universe, the fact that he had a Zerg clone would definitely be discovered by the Primal Chaos City Lord. This was something that could not be hidden and did not need to be hidden.

Babata, on the other hand, although seemingly intelligent, was actually quite rigid in its actions. It was just an intelligent life form. Although it had human emotions, it was essentially a smart program that needed to execute its master's will. Its task was to find an inheritor for Yun Mo.

Otherwise, it would be hard to imagine that a truly intelligent life form would passively monitor the globe from deep underground and repeatedly guide people to Misty Island for such inefficient screening. For fifty thousand years!

Babata, having stayed underground for fifty thousand years, was on the verge of emotional damage, yet it never thought of going out on its own. With the maintenance equipment on the ship and Babata's own technical means, it would definitely be possible to create some robots. Over fifty thousand years, even with a hammer, one could build a spaceship. During Earth's primitive period, creating an invincible force on Earth would have been too simple.

Not only that, later, when Luo Feng arrived on Mars, he discovered nine pyramid-shaped energy towers that had been operating for countless millennia. These were energy towers that had been operating for countless millennia and were still functioning normally. Under Babata's guidance, they were dismantled into scrap and sold to raise the first batch of funds for Luo Feng.

These were items that could instantly propel all of humanity into an era of infinite energy and interstellar travel, yet they were sold as scrap. In fact, the money didn't serve much purpose. It was only when Luo Feng sold the Arc Blade that he truly had money. In other words, the nine energy towers were essentially dismantled for nothing.

"Once we can crack the 12th ruin's Black Dragon Mountain—X81 model spaceship, we'll make a trip to Mars first, bringing some technicians to control those nine energy towers."

Thinking of this, Qin Mu's thoughts turned to the 12th ruin. There were many good things waiting to be developed on Earth, and the 12th ruin contained a well-preserved spaceship. Unfortunately, Qin Mu's strength was still insufficient. After obtaining the Cloud Vine, he tried to enter the 12th ruin to see if he could get into the spaceship. However, it was not easy to enter the Black Dragon Mountain—X81 model spaceship.

Previously, various countries on Earth had lost countless lives trying to enter this X81 model adventure spaceship, but they couldn't even get past the ship's gate.

There were two main difficulties. First, upon entering, there was a laser channel that could easily kill planetary-level fifth and sixth-stage warriors. With his current strength, wearing the Cloud Vine armor, Qin Mu could barely withstand it.

The second problem was a gate after the channel. Hong and Lei Shen were stopped by this gate. To forcefully lift the gate required the strength of a third or fourth-stage star-level warrior. Qin Mu could not do this either.

Destroying the spaceship was even more unrealistic; even a universe-level strongman would have to exert considerable effort. Luo Feng could enter because Babata gave him a strange tool resembling an axe that pried open the gate. Inside, there were also three robot guards. If one tried to forcibly invade the spaceship, it would self-destruct within 30 seconds.

Originally, Qin Mu planned to wait until he was stronger, using his powerful mental energy to directly push open the gate. Then he would mobilize China, Hong, and others to dig out the intelligence from the ruin and invade the Black Dragon Mountain X81 model spaceship, trying to control it within 30 seconds without damaging the spaceship. The spaceship would self-destruct within 30 seconds of being invaded.

However, the swarm made significant progress in cracking the Bug Queen nest, giving Qin Mu another idea. With the inheritance of a peak Sector Lord Bug Queen Nest, there was a high possibility that it contained methods to crack the spaceship.

In Swallowed Star, the Bug race, along with the Automaton race and Humans, were among the six pinnacle races. It was impossible for the Bug race not to have studied technological means. The six pinnacle races were in a state of constant warfare. Whenever one race became powerful, the others would unite to suppress it. The Bug race must have fought against the Automaton race, so they would most likely have researched how to crack the Automaton race's methods.

Shifting his consciousness, a flying Zerg overlooked the scene below. The Bug Queen's Nest, with a diameter of 800 meters, was densely covered with various venomous insects, charging into the poisonous gas. After absorbing the gas, these insects quickly succumbed to the poison. Their bodies piled up into a mountain, enveloping the Bug Queen's Nest.

Next to this mountain of bodies, several Cloud Vine tendrils danced, occasionally probing into the poisonous gas. On the ground, clusters of fungus carpet spread, wrapping around and absorbing the dead venomous insects, only to be killed by the residual poison in the bodies. Large areas of fungus carpet were poisoned, and then more spread over.

This cycle repeated endlessly. Over time, the naturally produced poisonous gas of this Bug Queen's Nest was limited. After poisoning millions of highly resistant venomous insects, the accumulated poisonous gas of the Bug Queen's Nest gradually diminished. The concentration of the gas was lower than at the beginning.

Noticing this change, Qin Mu incubated a dozen nests around it, specifically to hatch highly poison-resistant monsters to consume the gas. During this process, some poisoned bodies were brought back to the nest for research, but the gas was so potent that more than one nest was poisoned. Even the zerg that evolved in the gas were still poisoned.

After obtaining the Cloud Vine, Qin Mu dedicated it to the nest for analysis, consuming vast resources and time, and finally succeeded. Now the swarm had the capability to mass-produce Cloud Vine. When Qin Mu previously interacted with Hong and Lei Shen, he had gifted each of them a Cloud Vine seedling.

Around the Queen's Nest, a dozen Cloud Vines that had consumed large amounts of poisoned insects and evolved poison resistance tried consuming some zergs killed by the gas, and some actually survived. These mutated Cloud Vines tried inserting their tendrils into the poisonous gas and could withstand it for short periods without dying.

This was a significant breakthrough.

As long as the gas was further consumed and reduced to a certain level, the mutated Cloud Vines might truly penetrate the Queen's Nest. With enough poisoned zergs consumed, the gas would eventually dissipate completely. The Queen's Nest was, after all, like a rootless floating object, and its stored energy would eventually run out. By then, the swarm could truly control the entire Queen's Nest and obtain the inheritance.

"The progress of the nest evolving to level four is also rapid. The swarm has harvested a large number of Horde Leader level and even king-level monster genes in the war. Now it depends on whether the nest evolves to level four first or the swarm breaks through the Queen's Nest's poison gas defense first."

Qin Mu's expression was cheerful; almost everything had been going according to his plan recently. The minor issues in between were swiftly resolved by the military's decisive actions.

"It won't be long; in a few months, the nest will reach level four, and we can obtain the inheritance in, and then we can truly enter the real universe." Qin Mu's thoughts resonated through the swarm, exciting the entire swarm.

"Now, there is still one issue: will the Golden Horned Beast come?"

Qin Mu remembered that, in the original timeline, the Golden Horned Beast arrived in August 2057, around the time Luo Feng bought the Water of Life, helped his brother Luo Hua stand up, and successfully confessed to Xu Xin.

The location of its arrival was the Hawaiian Islands. It was already April, and there were four months until the Golden Horned Beast's arrival. When the Golden Horned Beast arrived, none of the world's satellites or the special monitoring equipment of ancient civilization relics detected its arrival.

This indicated that the Golden Horned Beast, even in its egg form, already knew how to actively conceal its presence. It might even have some perception of the outside world, but this perception should not be too strong. If its perception could sense the entire globe, it would have discovered the dormant Queen's Nest.

Given the knowledge in the Golden Horned Beast's inheritance about the Bug race, how could an egg-form Golden Horned Beast dare to enter Earth?

Based on this, Qin Mu had already initiated a war between the ocean Zerg and the ocean monsters in the Hawaiian area, and it wouldn't be long before they completely occupied the entire Hawaiian Islands. They were just waiting for the Golden Horned Beast, still in its egg form, to arrive.
