System Of Endless Cultivation

Chapter 3: Ch 3: System

No one knows when cultivation was first introduced in the Infinite Land Star, but millions of years have certainly passed.

In all these years, how could experts not have thought of solutions for blocked veins aside from using their potent Qi to forcefully open them?

They developed the Vein Awakening Realm to provide a pathway for those born with blocked veins. This realm allowed individuals to gradually open their blocked "spiritual veins", allowing Qi to flow within them and connecting them to the world's energy.

Eryx knew about the Vein Awakening Realm but was still unable to open his blocked veins, simply because this realm required a unique energy source that he did not possess. To awaken the blocked veins, one either needed a rare elixir called Vein Purifying Herb, or a special technique passed down for generations.

Kalen was only an ordinary member of the Devlin Family, with enough money to eat three times a day and sleep comfortably. How could he afford to buy a Vein Purifying Herb for Eryx?

As for the Devlin Family, why would they care about a person who doesn't have the Devlin's blood flowing within his body?

"This is troublesome!" Eryx frowned.

Indeed, this is a troublesome matter. This world is a cultivation world where a person needs to have strength to survive. Even cultivators with high cultivation realms are killed daily everywhere. He is just an ordinary person. If he wants to survive in this world, he needs to cultivate no matter what.

The question is, how?

If cultivation was that easy, the previous owner of this body wouldn't have died.

While he was still thinking of a solution, he suddenly heard a voice inside his head.

Ding!

⟪Synchronization complete!⟫

⟪Registering user...⟫

⟪User, Eryx Xylaris, registered!⟫

Eryx's eyes widened when he saw these lines appearing in front of his eyes. He tried to touch them, only for his hand to pass through without touching anything.

"Is this my cheat?" Eryx spoke with trembling lips.

As a devoted reader of novels, Eryx was already familiar with the "Ding" sound. Now that a bizarre event like his transmigration had occurred, why couldn't a system appear to make his future easier?

The idea of having a system filled him with hope. He imagined how much easier things would be now that he had one.

The next moment, a light flashed before his eyes, and an information panel materialized that was visible only to him.

[Eryx Xylaris]

[Cultivation: None]

[Physique: Spirit Body]

[Bloodline: None]

[Cultivation Technique: None]

[Skills: None]

[Energy: 10]

Eryx opened his eyes wide in surprise.

First of all, the system showed his name was Eryx Xylaris instead of Eryx Devlin. It is clear that Xylaris is this body's true family name.

Other than the name, he was surprised to see that he actually possesses Spirit Body, a special physique.

As for the rest, he wasn't surprised. After all, he had already absorbed every bit of Eryx's memories.

What shocked him the most was the flood of information that suddenly filled his mind after the appearance of the information panel.

However, before he could process it for long, he collapsed and fainted due to extreme hunger. The previous owner of the body had died from starvation, and though he had taken over the body, it was still in a state of severe hunger. As a result, he fainted shortly after.

---

Eryx had a strange dream. In it, he met a horrible death, only to wake up in a different world, inhabiting the body of a young man with the same name. Soon after, he unexpectedly gained a Goldenfinger, a System.

Immediately after, a vast amount of information about this system flooded his mind. He got to know that the system lacked intelligence and didn't have many functions. It only had one ability: infinite evolution. It allowed him to evolve everything about himself, including but not limited to his cultivation, special physique, bloodline, cultivation techniques, skills, and even the treasures in his possession.

However, this evolution came at a cost. He needed Energy Points to fuel it. He could convert anything with energy into Energy Points, but the only requirement was that the object must contain enough energy to equal "one" High-level Energy Point. If it didn't, the conversion would fail.

However, before he could focus on the information about the system for long, extreme hunger attacked him and he felt like dying. In the end, unable to hold, he lost consciousness and fainted. Then came the sensation of suffocation, followed by an intense, freezing cold, and soon everything around him turned pitch black.

Just as Eryx thought his life was over again, a warm current suddenly rushed through his body, filling him with an energy so comforting and powerful, it seemed to melt away the cold. It was like he was being embraced by warmth. This soothing sensation carried him back toward consciousness.

When Eryx opened his eyes again, he was no longer in the destroyed city filled with crumbled buildings and broken ground. He found himself in an unfamiliar, dimly lit room. The air smelled faintly of incense and herbs, and the soft rustling of wind came from outside.

He groaned as he rubbed his aching head.

"What a strange dream," he muttered to himself, wincing as a headache continued to throb in his skull.

"You're awake!"

Suddenly, a soft, melodic voice cut through his thoughts.

Eryx turned his head to find a small girl, no older than eight or nine, standing beside his bed. She had long, dark hair that shimmered in the dim light. Her clothes were simple but elegant, resembling something from ancient traditions.

The girl's innocent face lit up with a sweet smile upon seeing Eryx awake. Eryx was taken aback by how adorable she was.

"Who are you?" Eryx asked, trying to ignore the strange, warm sensation in his chest.

"My name is Lin Xia," the girl said sweetly. "You were unconscious, so I and my senior sister brought you here. Senior Sister said you fainted due to hunger, so she fed you a precious pill."

Eryx blinked, still trying to gather his thoughts. Then, he suddenly recalled everything.

"So, that wasn't just a dream," Eryx muttered with a sigh, but thinking about the system, a smile appeared on his face.

"Where am I?" Eryx asked as he looked around the room. The room was adorned with a wooden bed, a tea table, and a writing desk. An incense burner on the desk emitted a unique fragrance that seemed to clear the mind. There was a landscape painting hung on the wall.

"You are in the Silver Moon Sect," Lin Xia replied with a touch of pride in her voice.

"Silver Moon Sect?"

Eryx's mind spun.

What kind of place was this?

Even in this body's predecessor's memories, there was no information about the Silver Moon Sect.

Lin Xia tilted her head slightly, then smiled as if amused by his confusion. "Have you never heard of our sect? Our sect is located in the Golden Dragon Empire."

Eryx froze. "Golden Dragon Empire?"

His mind whirled, and he suddenly recalled many more things. The Devlin Family was one of the powerful families of the Golden Dragon Empire. Golden Dragon Empire was famous for having a Golden Dragon as their guardian beast.

Golden Dragon Empire is huge, with fifteen kingdoms and nine powerful sects under their jurisdiction. Other than them, there was a Golden Dragon Sect founded by the ruling family of the Golden Dragon Empire.

Eryx used to live in the capital city, so he knew many things. However, he had never heard of the Silver Moon Sect.

As Eryx was thinking, his head started hurting. Unable to stand the headache any longer, Eryx leaned back against the bed, cradling his head in his hands. The pain was excruciating, and he couldn't focus on anything else.

Lin Xia's voice became anxious. "Are you okay?"

"I... I am fine. It is just... Sigh, nothing." Eryx shook his head and said no more.

Lin Xia, seeing Eryx's state, no longer tried to talk. She told him to rest and left.

After resting for hours, Eryx finally stood up and walked out of the room. What greeted his sight was a series of wooden courtyards.

This place was not big. There were only ten or so courtyards, with a beautiful lake on the left and a medicinal garden on the right.

"It seems this Silver Moon Sect is very small. No wonder I've never heard of it before."

Even Eryx didn't realize when he accepted his current identity. He was no longer looking at himself as Eryx Devlin. Instead, he unknowingly accepted the identity of his predecessor, Eryx Xylaris.
