Chapter 10: chapter 9
Chapter 9: Scott's First Hunt
I was standing in front of the vet clinic with Scott, waiting for Stiles. That stupid kid was always late, but he was a good student—like a sponge that absorbed all the knowledge I threw at him, and I liked that. The feeling of him learning everything just days after I taught him was satisfying. At least in theory, he was exceptional. In practice? He was slightly above average.
A few minutes later, Stiles finally arrived, and I shot him a look that said, Get ready for your punishment.
"Alright, we're all here, Frank. Tell us, what's the surprise you have for us?" Scott said, with Stiles nodding eagerly behind him.
"Alright, girl, come out," I said, and from one of the alleys near the clinic, Allison stepped out, holding a bow in her hand and a quiver on her back.
"Allison, what are you doing here?" Stiles asked.
Scott quickly rushed to her, cupping her cheeks with his hands. "Are you okay? Why are you here?"
"Mr. Frank has been teaching me how to use the bow better," Allison said. "And check this out." She pressed a button on the side of the bow, and blades extended from its edges.
"Okay, that's awesome," Scott and Stiles said in unison.
"Alright, enough talking. Let's head to the forest," I said as I walked toward the car. "What, did you think I was going to teleport you there? Nope, we're taking the cars."
We all got into our vehicles—Scott rode with me, Stiles drove his Jeep alone, and Allison had her own car. After a few minutes of driving, we arrived at the forest and got out.
"Alright, here's your mission. Right now, there's a very strong supernatural creature in the forest. Let's call it a boss-level monster. And you, adventurers, will either kill it or simply defeat it. That choice is yours," I said.
"But what if it escapes the forest while we're hunting it?" Allison asked.
"Don't worry about that. There's a barrier preventing it from leaving," I reassured her.
"Alright."
"Okay."
"Got it," the three of them responded.
"Now, I'm leaving—I have a Mortal Kombat match to finish with your mom, Scott," I said, ready to teleport away.
"Wait, wait, wait! You're not going to watch over us? I mean, if it's a boss-level monster, shouldn't you, I don't know, protect us?" Stiles asked.
"Kid, I already taught you how to fight. Allison has a bow made by me, and I trained her too. Scott is now stronger than almost any Beta. And you, Stiles, are a walking library—not to mention, I taught you how to use daggers, and right now, you have six daggers on you. I'm not your babysitter," I said before teleporting back to my new house.
I rushed inside, shouting, "Babe, are you ready to lose to the best Sub-Zero player in the world?"
"Are you crazy? My Scorpion is way better than your Sub-Zero!" she shouted back.
**Short chapter, but I had fun writing it. Please comment!**
