Tensura: The Multiverse Planeswalker

Chapter 12: [TP] 12: The Adventurer’s Guild

"Excuse me, could you tell me where the Adventurer's Guild is?"

Damien stopped a passerby to ask for directions, and with their guidance, he and Ogerpon found the guild.

The Adventurer's Guild in the city was an imposing structure. Even before entering, Damien and Ogerpon caught the enticing aroma of food wafting from inside.

"Bo ne?"

Ogerpon sniffed. "It smells so good! Is this a restaurant?"

"The guild here doubles as a tavern. Adventurers can order meals inside." Damien explained as he pushed open the guild's doors.

Stepping inside, they were greeted by a grand hall large enough for a banquet, lined with neatly arranged long tables.

Though it wasn't mealtime yet, several adventurer parties were already gathered, drinking and boasting loudly.

The lively chatter filled the guild with a vibrant atmosphere.

"Ah, welcome!"

"If you're looking for work, head to the counter inside. If you're here to eat, there are plenty of open seats... feel free to sit anywhere."

As soon as they entered, a friendly waitress with short red hair approached them.

The arrival of new faces drew the attention of adventurers clad in armor, leather, and mage robes, their gazes settling on Damien and Ogerpon.

"What's that?"

"A monster?"

"Probably a familiar or something. It's kinda cute."

"Yeah, super cute."

"…"

Damien didn't mind... he looked entirely human, nothing noteworthy.

Ogerpon, however, was a bit of an eye-catcher.

The Konosubaverse didn't have Pokémon.

Here, monsters... aside from the Demon King's forces... lacked intelligence, functioning as pure beasts.

Familiars in this world were akin to summoned creatures.

Though some adventurers were summoners, none had ever seen a familiar like Ogerpon.

"Bo ne?"

Overwhelmed by the stares, Ogerpon shyly hid behind Damien.

Her reaction only drew more attention.

Especially from some of the prettier female adventurers, who instantly fell for the little girl-like Ogerpon.

But since they didn't know Damien, they hesitated to approach.

"Come on, Ogerpon."

Damien took her hand, ignoring the murmurs and curious looks.

The adventurers meant no harm... just curiosity.

Soon, Damien and Ogerpon crossed the hall to the counter.

Four staff members were at the counter, two of them women. Damien approached the one he recognized from the anime... a mature blonde woman.

"You two…"

The receptionist, Luna, curiously studied Damien and Ogerpon. "Er, I mean, sir, how can I assist you?"

Luna initially mistook Ogerpon for a human girl.

It was understandable... Ogerpon was barely over a meter tall, equivalent to a seven- or eight-year-old human child.

But up close, though adorable, Ogerpon clearly wasn't human, resembling a sentient monster instead.

Still, seeing how well-behaved she was, and given this was the adventurers' stronghold, Luna assumed she was Damien's familiar or summoned creature.

"I'd like to register as an adventurer."

"Oh, a newcomer? No problem at all."

Luna smiled. "For a 1000 Eris registration fee, you can undergo an attribute assessment."

"Registration fee…"

"Ahem."

Damien realized he didn't have this world's currency.

Unlike Kazuma and Aqua's frantic situation, he stayed calm and pulled a nugget of gold, mined from the Jura Forest, from his Spirit Space, placing it on the counter.

"We've come from far away and spent all our Eris on the journey. Can the guild accept gold for transactions?"

Gold was a precious metal in most worlds.

To prepare for situations like this, Damien had brought plenty of gold, minerals, and gems.

Of course, this gold nugget had been processed.

Damien had analyzed and reduced its Magicule concentration by several levels to match Konosuba's standards before offering it.

Otherwise, it'd just be "some unknown metal that looks like gold" in this world.

Different worlds, different physical rules.

Without processing, Damien wouldn't dare use it.

"Um, please wait a moment."

Luna was startled by the gold nugget. "I'll grab the testing equipment right away!"

Surprised or not, Luna didn't hesitate to do her job.

As Damien expected, the Adventurer's Guild was a jack-of-all-trades, even handling appraisals for gold and treasures.

"This…!"

But soon, Damien ran into trouble.

"Such a strong magical reaction!"

Luna stared at the testing device in shock, the curvy blonde receptionist exclaiming, "It's just gold, but it has more Magicule than a high-grade magic crystal!"

"Unbelievable!"

"Could this gold have come from a magic crystal mine?"

Not just Luna, but the gold shop owner called to appraise it was equally stunned.

"Er, well…"

Damien scratched his cheek awkwardly. Oops! Guess I didn't reduce the Magicule enough.

I thought I'd brought it down to a medium Chaos World level!

Apparently, even among medium Chaos Worlds, Magicule levels varied.

Konosuba's world was on the lower end of that spectrum.

"Can it be exchanged?"

"It can, it can."

The gold shop owner adjusted his glasses. "The question is, how do you want to exchange it?"

"What do you mean?"

"Do you want to trade it as gold or as a high-potency magic crystal?"

The owner had never seen anything like this.

Turning perfectly good gold into a magic crystal? Young people sure were creative.

"Ahem!"

Damien got it. "Which is worth more?"

"Magic crystal, obviously!"

"Alright, sell it as a magic crystal, please."

Soon, Damien exchanged the gold nugget for roughly 3 million Eris.
