Chapter 108: Chapter 107: "Daoist Li Xun, Trouble Awaits You"

The seal had been taken.

The green-robed man's vision darkened, and another mouthful of blood spurted from his lips. He nearly fell from the sky.

"Your Highness!"

His two attendants hurried to his side, supporting him.

"Attack!"

"Kill him together!"

The green-robed man had lost all sense of reason. All he wanted now was to kill Li Xun and erase the humiliation of the day. Whether he could win or not was no longer a concern.

In just one day, he had suffered more defeats and humiliation than in the past twenty-plus years combined.

Never before had someone pushed him to such an extent. Never before had anyone taken the spiritual treasure he had refined for years under the watchful eyes of so many.

"This…"

The two attendants exchanged glances, momentarily at a loss for words. They could only summon their treasures again and charge at Li Xun from two different directions.

Behind them, the green-robed man raised his hands into a seal. His aura surged violently, and it seemed as though his entire lifeblood was burning. He had activated a secret technique.

Boom!

The heavens and earth trembled as various radiant lights intertwined, creating an illusion of a newly formed order. Around the green-robed man, a vision of a world being born emerged amidst endless chaos.

At the center, the green-robed man—though only at the Profound Elixir Realm—suddenly gave the impression of a supreme deity. With every wave of his hand, decay spread, and everything around withered.

It was as if he had become the master of a miniature world, attempting to pull Li Xun into this realm and refine him to death.

With a swift whoosh, the small world expanded rapidly, covering dozens of miles. Though not large, it was enough to engulf Li Xun.

And more than that—

Some of the spectators watching from a distance were also drawn into it.

Boom!

The heavens rumbled as the aura of creation and destruction spread. Golden divine chains, seemingly formed from the rules of the universe, descended from all directions to annihilate everything within.

The moment these chains appeared, they shattered the surrounding space. Blood mist erupted in the distance, staining the air.

"What's happening?"

"I'm just here to watch! Why am I being dragged into this?!"

"I am a disciple of the Divine Heaven Sect! Daoist, please have mercy on me— ah!"

"Damn it! That prince of Great Chu has lost his mind! He's picking a fight with everyone. Let's all attack him! Kill him, and this secret technique will collapse!"

"Are you joking? He's at the late-stage Profound Elixir Realm! Aside from Daoist Li Xun, who else can break this secret technique?"

At this moment, panic spread among the crowd.

Even the prodigies in the Profound Elixir Realm were overwhelmed with fear, let alone the ordinary disciples. They realized that this miniature world seemed to have severed their connection with the outside.

No matter what methods they tried, they couldn't break free.

The only way out was to kill the green-robed man.

But the problem was the sheer number of divine chains falling from the sky. Everyone was barely able to protect themselves and had no means to stop the green-robed man.

"Li Xun, this is the day you die!"

The green-robed man's face was twisted in fury, and his raspy voice echoed. His once jet-black hair had turned gray in mere moments.

Clearly, the cost of using this secret technique was enormous. Even in just a few breaths of time, it had drained nearly all his lifeblood.

It was as if the green-robed man had aged a hundred years in an instant. His entire being seemed to have grown frail and decrepit.

"Hmph."

Li Xun snorted coldly, his tone indifferent. "In my eyes, this is nothing but a futile struggle."

With a long howl, Li Xun acted decisively. The massive halberd in his hand manifested once again. Within the small world, it struck upward toward the heavens and downward to suppress the netherworld, slashing through the chaos with unstoppable force.

The golden divine chains crumbled into nothingness under the Dragon Halberd, powerless to resist its might.

Boom!

One of the green-robed man's attendants was reduced to a cloud of blood mist by Li Xun. He surged forward with astonishing speed, appearing before the green-robed man in the blink of an eye.

The halberd came crashing down. The green-robed man's body was flung backward, his bones shattered piece by piece as he vomited blood, utterly unable to resist.

"Why??"

Terror and confusion filled the green-robed man's eyes. He could not comprehend why his most powerful move was so feeble against Li Xun, as if it had no effect on him whatsoever.

Before he could grasp the answer, an azure halberd rapidly filled his vision, piercing straight through his skull. His headless corpse fell limply to the ground.

With the green-robed man's death, the small world created by his secret technique collapsed.

Nearby, the last surviving attendant of the green-robed man trembled uncontrollably at the sight of his master's demise. Casting a glance at Li Xun, he didn't dare utter a single threat. Without looking back, he fled toward the distance with all his might.

In his heart, only one thought remained: escape.

If he could escape this place and hide for the remaining twenty days, he would be able to leave the Phoenix Origin Secret Realm.

Once outside, Li Xun would no longer be able to harm him. In fact, fearing he might report back to the Great Chu Dynasty, Li Xun might even come begging for his silence!

The attendant fled at an incredible speed.

But a streak of black light traveled even faster.

Pfft!

The black light caught up in an instant, piercing through the attendant's body and nailing him to a mountain peak.

And thus, the prince of the Great Chu Dynasty and his two attendants met their end.

Li Xun stood tall in the heavens, his thick black hair cascading, radiating divine brilliance. He seemed both godlike and demonic, a deity commanding reverence and awe. No one dared to look directly at him.

The scene was too overwhelming. Everyone present stood frozen, like statues, unable to process what they had just witnessed. Even years later, this moment would remain etched in their memories.

"A prince of the mighty Great Chu Dynasty… just died like that?"

Someone muttered in disbelief, unable to comprehend the reality before them.

"Daoist Li Xun, trouble surely awaits. The death of a prince of the Great Chu Dynasty will not go uninvestigated. The resources of the Profound Sun Sect might not be enough to protect him," one of the observing prodigies remarked, shaking his head and sighing.

"Not necessarily."

Another person disagreed. "The Great Chu Dynasty has numerous princes and princesses. The death of one may even be welcomed by some within the royal family. Someone might even try to recruit Daoist Li Xun."

"After all, within the royal family, there is no such thing as familial affection."

"Furthermore," the person continued, "this is the Great Zhou's territory, not Great Chu's. A prodigy emerging within the Great Zhou's borders, even if not part of the royal family, is unlikely to be handed over to the Great Chu without resistance."

"And don't forget, before entering the Phoenix Origin Secret Realm, Daoist Li Xun was granted a token by the Crown Prince of the Great Zhou. Do you think the Crown Prince will stand idly by?"

Hearing this, many nodded in agreement.

While they didn't believe the Great Chu Dynasty would simply let the matter drop, Li Xun had the backing of the Great Zhou's Crown Prince and the Profound Sun Sect.

Though the Profound Sun Sect couldn't compare to the Great Chu Dynasty overall, the key difference was the absence of a Saint in the sect. Yet even the Saints of Great Chu wouldn't recklessly leave their territory, fearing their stronghold might be overrun in their absence.

Without the intervention of a Saint, the Great Chu Dynasty might not be able to deal with Li Xun immediately.

And given time, with Li Xun's current rate of growth, it wouldn't be long before the balance of power between him and the Great Chu Dynasty shifted dramatically.
