That Time I Got Reincarnated In Another World

Chapter 1: Chapter 1 New World

Waking up after a night of watching anime, I was surprised not to find myself in my bed. I woke up on a hill. As I rubbed my eyes, I took stock of my surroundings. Behind me was a cherry blossom tree; ahead of me was a beautiful landscape with no city or village. A soft breeze came from my right. I reached up and combed my hair back when my hand bumped against something. Looking over my shoulder, I saw a longbow and a quiver full of arrows. I thought to myself, "Is this a dream?" But the wind felt too real. I pinched my cheek, and it hurt. I sighed, looking out at the landscape before me. I stood up and began walking down the hill, slowly taking in a deep breath. The air was so fresh, so clean. I continued walking, thinking over my situation. I needed to find some food and learn how to use the bow on my back. I looked down at what I was wearing: black boots, black trousers tucked into my boots, and a green tunic with a belt that had a dagger in its sheath. My musings were interrupted by the sound of running water. I looked up, noticing a small stream of water ahead of me . I smiled and walked over to it. I looked into the water and saw a familiar face: black hair, pale skin, green eyes, and pointy ears. That wasn't right; I had normal ears. Was I an elf in this world? If so, that would explain my face being more noble, longer lashes, sharp jaw, and high cheekbones. I crouched down, taking some of the water in my hands, and brought it to my mouth . I took a tentative sip, and the water was cold, crisp, and fresh. I gulped it down quickly and did that a couple more times before standing up and starting to follow the stream. As I walked, I took the bow from my back and inspected it. The bow was long, around 150 cm. The wood was ebony with Gold designs. I pulled on the string, and it was light to pull. I released the string, and a satisfying twang echoed. This bow was powerful. I stopped and took one of the arrows from the quiver. I notched the arrow and pulled the string back . I aimed it at a rock approximately 100 meters from my position. I took a deep breath and let the arrow fly. The next thing I heard was metal impacting the rock and shattering it. My eyes widened; this bow was powerful beyond what I imagined. I jogged over to the rock and pulled out the arrow. I looked at the steel tip to see that it wasn't even damaged. I put it back in the quiver and continued walking down, following the stream . The sun was rising, so this meant the time was around past morning.

[ 2 Hours Later ] Two hours I have been walking, following the stream, not even a hint of civilization. Just as I was about to stop walking, in the corner of my eye, I saw a castle, an old one. It was old but surprisingly in good condition, so I jogged over to it. the castle was surrounded by ruins

I was sure it was a city; it truly now sunk in that I'm in another world. No more internet, no more anime. I shed a tear; anime was an escape from reality . The tears continued flowing; I cried for the family I may never see again. I walked over to the steps of the entrance to the castle and sat down. I sniffled, wiping away my tears; they wouldn't want me to cry. I smiled, even if I don't see them ever again. I love them and will live a happy life. they woudl want that for me I stood up and turned around and pushed the double doors . Dust and a musky smell hit me. I coughed, almost choking, as I waved my hand . A strange energy flowed out of my hand, and gusts of wind pushed out of it, making me stagger . The wind swept over the room, and the dust and musky smell were pushed out of the holes in the walls.I looked down at my hand and blinked. Was that magic? Of course it was. I smacked my forehead. I was an elf and had a bow that could make arrows go through rocks. God, I was stupid sometimes. my stupidity aside i looked around the room it was old I walked further in when I heard footsteps. Pulling the bow from my back, I notched an arrow and aimed it at the sound. A skeleton wearing full plate armor, carrying a mace, was walking towards me. I hesitated for a moment, a twinge of fear striking my heart. I squashed it down and let the arrow fly. It struck true, destroying the skull. The skeleton crumbled in a heap of bones and armor. i Notched another arrow and walked closer to it. Once I was sure there were no more approaching, I crouched and took out the arrow from the head and put it in the quiver. I looked at the armor the skeleton was wearing. I thought about taking the breastplate, but it would slow me down. i stood up and walked Further in the castle, I entered what was once a grand dining room . The room was empty; there were destroyed tables and chairs. Once I was sure there was nothing in there, I walked towards the grand staircase leading up to the throne room. I walked in the destroyed double doors. Immediately, I saw two skeletons with two- handed swords turning towards the sound. I calmed my nerves and notched an arrow. I let it fly, striking the first skeleton in the head. It crumbled to the ground with a bang . The second skeleton was different; it was running. I notched an arrow fast and let it fly. It struck it in the head, but it didn't slow. It took a swing, and I panicked, ducked, and slipped. As I was falling, my leg accidentally struck its leg, and I winced. The skeleton stumbled, and I took the opportunity. I pushed it in the chest with my other foot and leapt back on my feet. I took its sword and dashed it over the head, destroying the skull inside the helmet. breathed heavily calming my Racing heart, once I was calm enough, I walked towards the throne. It was empty. Beside the throne rested a sword ; it was a long sword, elegant in design. It had a crossguard with an elegant handle wrapped in black leather. The pommel was a spike. I picked it up, blowing the dust away from the sheath. The sheath was black leather, nothing special. I unsheathed it a little and looked at the blade; it was clean and slim. I sheathed it back with a click and strapped it on my waist, in my belt. i took a seat on the steps to the throne and decided to rest for a bit....
