Chapter 7: Chapter Seven: The Trial of Rage
Chapter 7: The Trial of Rage
Savage Wolves Carnage
Min Ho's boots sank into the dark soil of the Realm of Savage Beasts.
Howling winds.
Thick fog.
Glowing yellow eyes everywhere.
SYSTEM ALERT:
Target: Kill 30 Savage Wolves.
HP: 100/100
Dozens of monstrous wolves emerged—twice the size of regular wolves, fur laced with black flame-like patterns, fangs dripping with venomous saliva, their claws sharp enough to cleave trees in half.
Min Ho… grinned.
"So this is my punishment? Feels more like a warm-up."
In an instant, he summoned his Soulfang Dagger and vanished in a flash of speed.
SLASH!
One wolf dropped, instantly melting from the dagger's cursed venom.
SLASH! SLASH!
Two more followed before they even reacted.
Min Ho's movements were beyond what the wolves could process—fluid, precise, ruthless.
Dodging bites and claws with casual ease, he carved through the savage beasts with elegant brutality, stacking kills fast.
"23 down…"
His body glided through them like a shadow, every strike perfectly placed.
"28…"
Only two remained. They lunged together, faster than the rest.
Min Ho spun midair—Shadow Step activating—and slashed their throats in a single spinning strike.
30 kills.
The ground trembled as the last wolf crumbled into ashes.
SYSTEM ALERT:
Punishment Complete.
Reward: 500 Mana added to inventory
The Stone King's Trial Begins
But before Min Ho could even relax—
SYSTEM ALERT:
You have triggered a hidden path.
"Trial of the Stone King" Initiated.
Warning: Extremely High Risk
.
"...Tch. Figures."
A giant obsidian door appeared before him, ancient runes glowing across its surface.
Without hesitation, he walked through.
Inside was a massive stone arena, surrounded by swirling dark clouds and towering statues of long-forgotten kings.
And there, standing in the center, was a 15-foot Knight—a monstrous warrior clad in pitch-black armor, glowing crimson eyes beneath its helmet, wielding a two-story-tall greatsword.
Beside it sat the Stone King himself—a titan of rock, unmoving, silent, watching from his throne.
The Knight's voice thundered across the arena:
"Mortal. You seek strength? Then survive me."
Without waiting, the Knight lunged at Min Ho—moving faster than something its size should ever move.
Min Ho barely dodged the first strike—feeling the shockwave even from a miss.
"He's… fast!?"
The Knight followed with a brutal barrage—every swing heavier and faster than before. Min Ho struggled, parrying with his dagger, but his arms grew numb under the pressure.
Every clash sent tremors through the arena.
Min Ho gasped, panting
.
"Even with my speed, I can't keep up…"
The Knight paused, sensing his weakness.
Then, it spoke again—its voice like grinding stone:
"Why do you continue, mortal? You cannot win."
Min Ho spat blood but grinned.
"Because I have people I need to protect."
In that instant—
SYSTEM ALERT:
Hidden Power Awakened: Heir of Rage (Locked Potential Unleashed.)
Effect: Temporarily increases Strength & Speed by 500% when fighting overwhelming foes.
Min Ho's body ignited with crimson aura, his muscles surging with new power.
His eyes glowed red.
He roared—and his speed exploded.
He moved five times faster, his blows now denting the Knight's armor.
But still—not enough.
The Knight finally spoke with dark amusement:
"Foolish mortal. You are still far from worthy."
Suddenly, it dropped its greatsword with a deafening crash—
—AND CHARGED BAREHANDED AT MIN HO, faster than ever.
CLASH!
The two collided.
The Heir of Rage Unleashed
The Knight's armored fist collided with Min Ho's dagger, the impact shattering the air like thunder.
BOOM!
Min Ho grunted, skidding back across the stone arena, boots grinding sparks from the floor.
His body trembled—but his eyes blazed hotter than ever, crimson aura flaring like wildfire around him.
"This body—feels like it's burning up…"
His muscles pulsed with unnatural strength, bones creaking from the sudden overload—but he didn't care.
His heartbeat thundered like war drums.
His mind sharpened to a killing edge.
The Heir of Rage wasn't a blessing.
It was a curse of survival.
And right now, he welcomed it.
"Come, then!" Min Ho roared, his voice distorted by the power surging through him.
The Knight came again—faster, wilder.
Each of its steps cracked the arena beneath it, stone erupting underfoot.
It swung—Min Ho vanished.
"Behind you."
He appeared behind the Knight mid-swing, his dagger glowing like molten iron.
SLASH!
His blade sank into the Knight's back—deep enough to pierce an inch through its thick armor.
Not enough.
The Knight spun, its massive fist aiming to crush Min Ho like an insect.
Min Ho twisted midair, narrowly dodging—but the shockwave still sent him spiraling back.
"That armor… it's absorbing everything."
He gritted his teeth, adrenaline screaming in his veins.
But the Heir of Rage wouldn't let him retreat.
It whispered in his mind:
"Break it. Shatter it. Destroy it."
His eyes snapped toward the Stone King's throne—sensing something.
Above the throne, a faint light glimmered—a tiny weak point in the Knight's core.
"So that's it..."
The Final Assault
The Knight roared again and charged.
This time, Min Ho didn't dodge.
Instead, he sprinted straight toward it—crimson aura spiraling wildly around him, forming into sharp tendrils of power.
As the Knight's fist neared, Min Ho ducked low—his body almost moving on instinct, slipping under the strike.
"NOW!"
He leapt.
In a blink, he was already above the Knight's head, dagger raised high, all his power channeled into a single strike.
He roared with everything he had:
"—DIE!"
His dagger plunged into the Knight's core—the glowing weak point above its chest.
The blade shattered on impact.
But Min Ho didn't stop.
With bare hands, he grabbed the crack and tore it open, punching it multiple time, his crimson aura pouring directly into the Knight's body.
The arena shook violently.
The Knight froze—red cracks spreading across its entire body, from core to limbs.
It tried to move—but it was too late.
Min Ho let out a final snarl of pure rage—
"BREAK!"
KA-THOOM!
The Knight exploded in a storm of red and black energy, shards of its armor raining down like meteors.
Min Ho stood at the center of the destruction, panting heavily, his body steaming from the overload.
The Stone King's throne began to dissolve slowly, its stone form crumbling into dust.
