The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy!

Chapter 23: One Of The Main Leads Has Been Chosen?

"Hey!! What the—"

Melissa stood outside the restroom, conflict flickering in her eyes as she gazed at the duo standing before the door.

"I don't think…" she trailed off as one of the ladies cut her off.

"Melissa, that half-sister of yours is just too much," the blonde woman huffed. "How dare she act like she's the one in the right here?"

"You've already suffered at her hands," the other one looked at Melissa sternly. "We're not letting her ruin this for you."

"That's right," the first one mused. "Because of you, we're here. And just like you, we also want you to do well without anyone bothering you."

Melissa pressed her lips into a thin line, darting her eyes between the ladies. She tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled in satisfaction. Surely, investing just a bit in these two has been—or rather, these two starlets who, despite being in the industry for so long, hadn't had a break—was worth it.

"But I'm worried that you two will get in trouble for this," she muttered apologetically.

"Don't worry about that," the first one snorted and shrugged. "I've been thinking of leaving the industry anyway if I didn't get this role."

The second one nodded. "If not for you, things for me would've been terrible. So, this is a small deed of repayment for saving us that night."

Melissa pursed her lips and then paused, hearing some faint screaming from the inside. She bit her bottom lip, professionally hiding the growing malice in her eyes.

She's so embarrassing, she thought. Did she really come here to ruin everything for me? Dream on, Lola!

Well, Lola had nothing. So, it was only natural to assume this was Lola's way of getting back at her.

"Don't mind her," the blonde woman snapped Melissa out of her thoughts, tucking Lola's phone, which she had snatched earlier. "Let's just go, Lisa."

The second woman hooked Melissa's arm as she dragged her away. "We'll tell someone later once the audition is over."

The girls hooked their arms around Melissa as they strode off. Melissa, on the other hand, looked at them and nodded in understanding.

"Thank you for thinking of me."

"Don't mention it," they said with a giggle.

And just like that, they returned to the audition hall where the others were waiting for the audition to start. But as they took their spots, they noticed that everyone else seemed to be busy gossiping.

"It's almost ten minutes since the supposed start of the audition," Melissa murmured, looking around the tables where some well-known and starting actors were seated. "What's going on?"

The other two also looked around curiously. The delay was understandable, and even if it wasn't, they would wait.

"Hey," the blonde lady with Melissa called to the nearest lady. "What's going on here?"

The lady, a slightly cuter one, looked back at them. She didn't plan to tell them what was going on, but when her eyes landed on Melissa, she cleared her throat and hurriedly moved her chair closer to them.

"You should check your phone," said the cute lady, who moved closer. "Something amazing just happened, and that explains why there's a delay in the audition."

The three—Melissa included—looked at each other. They then hurriedly pulled out their phones and saw what was going on. They didn't need to search because the moment they opened their accounts, they quickly saw the current trending entertainment news.

"What?" The blonde one blurted out, her mouth wide open. "One of the main leads has been chosen?"

The second one covered her mouth, eyes wide. She scrolled on the screen, her thumb trembling as she read an article. Then, she paused at the photo attached to it.

"He's going to be cast?" she blurted out because there hadn't been any confirmation on which role this man was taking. However, having him in the cast was huge, considering his large following as a superstar and how, even though he wasn't actually an actor, he was one of the highest-paid actors in his country.

Slater Bennet.

A man whose fame reached even the ends of the world, a voice so heavenly that even the angels would play an instrument for him, and a face so handsome that one could only dream about him.

Melissa opened and closed her mouth, staring at the article blankly. "He's going to be one of the main leads?"

The woman who had informed them nodded profusely. Her mouth stretched from ear to ear.

"And his agency already confirmed it," the woman giggled, her cheeks blushing. "Gosh… It's really worth going in here."

She then gazed at Melissa with envy. "I'm so jealous that you'll be working with him."

Hearing this, Melissa's brows rose. At the same time, the two lackeys who had locked Lola in the restroom gazed at her. A look of envy also shone in the other two, because now, it wasn't just the budget of this series that was making headlines.

Having Slater Bennet in it would surely make this series the next top-grossing drama. The last one was a movie where the said superstar was in, and he wasn't even a lead. The production only used him to promote the movie, which was why it sold so well.

"Slater Bennet…" Melissa blushed at the thought. Who didn't know the guy? She bit her lips to stop herself from smiling.

Surely, good things were starting to come her way.

"Wait, if the audition is getting delayed, does that mean he's here?" one of the ladies perked up, shock written all over her face.

The cute one who informed them of this current news shook her head. "I don't think that's the reason. I think the reason is that Director Sarian is waiting for someone to join the casting panel."

Melissa snapped her eyes as she gazed at the woman. "Waiting for someone? Who could it be?"

"Director Sarian is the most important person on the casting panel," the short-haired lady remarked in confusion. "Who could make him stall the audition?"

The woman who informed them looked around and cleared her throat. She looked at Melissa, knowing her chances of getting even a minor role were high if she got on Melissa's good graces.

"No one knows it yet, but my manager got some intel," she leaned forward, whispering so others wouldn't know this. "From what I heard, Taz will be joining the casting panel too."

"Taz?" the ladies gasped, making the woman hush them.

"Don't tell anyone," the woman whispered, looking around cautiously. "And from what I heard, the people who get in will depend on Taz's decision. After all, Taz is the original creator of The Angel's Revenge. So, the production will consider his opinion highly."

"Wow…" one of Melissa's lackeys was speechless. "This series… is really getting bigger. Director Sarian directing it is already big news, but not only is Slater Bennet being cast, but also, the original creator, Taz, is choosing the cast."

Those three mentioned were renowned names in the industry. Although their fame was different in aspects, they were all well-respected.

Again, the three ladies gazed at Melissa, knowing the latter would get in whether she did her best or not. After all, because of Melissa, they assumed the production managed to afford Slater Bennet due to the sponsors behind Melissa.

Little did they know, the real reason this was all getting delayed was because of the same person they were looking at. After all, the most important casting panel was currently locked in the restroom.
