The Boy Who Burned the Heavens

Chapter 60: The Library of the Lost Scribes

"Some books are never opened. Some authors… never remembered."

---

📜 [Scene: The Shifting Sands of Memory]

The earth beneath Riven's feet turned to pages.

Literal parchment — stained, half-burned, half-written.

And above him, no sky.

Only a dome of spinning books, each glowing faintly.

Some had titles.

Some didn't.

Most bled ink.

The wind didn't blow — it whispered sentences that never got to end.

> "Where are we?" Lyara asked, stepping gently as if afraid to disturb the words.

> "The place where stories die," Riven replied.

"Or are never born."

As they walked, a tall obsidian librarian emerged — faceless, robed in woven paper, holding a quill taller than Riven.

> "You carry ink of rebellion," it hissed.

> "I carry truth that was never allowed," Riven responded.

> "Then read your consequences."

It extended a trembling hand — and a book appeared in Riven's palm.

His book.

But the title read:

> ❌ "The Flame That Never Was"

> "What…?" Riven whispered.

"That's not my story."

> "That's the one they almost wrote you into," the Librarian replied.

📘 Riven's Forbidden Chapter – Chapter 0: The Boy Who Never Burned

Suddenly, he was inside the book.

A version of him…

Raised by a father who lived.

Loved by Selene without betrayal.

Never framed.

Never burned.

And most of all — never powerful.

He lived a quiet, normal life.

> "This is peace," Mirael said beside him.

"Isn't it what you wanted?"

> "No," Riven whispered.

"This isn't peace. It's erasure."

He burned the book in his hand.

> "I'd rather remember the pain… than forget who I am."

---

🔓 Trial of the Lost Scribes

Dozens of books flew open around him — each one a test.

A version where Riven betrayed Lyara.

Another where he killed Caelen too early.

One where he never met Mirael.

A timeline where he became the Librarian.

Each page tried to pull him in.

And still… he walked.

His fire rewrote the air.

Until he stood before a sealed door:

THE AUTHOR'S ROOM

---

🖋 Inside – The Ink Throne

One chair.

One book.

One empty page.

The Librarian spoke again:

> "You rewrote death.

You named the nameless.

You met your other selves.

Now… will you write yourself?"

> "I already am," Riven said.

He sat.

Took the quill.

And instead of writing…

He bled.

His fingertip pressed into the page, and the words appeared not in ink — but in flame-blood.

> "I am Riven Valtoris.

I was betrayed.

I was broken.

I burned.

And I rewrote the fire itself."
