Chapter 959 959: Flint's Ability
"Oh, perfect timing!" Cassie exclaimed, snapping her fingers. "Come on, join us. Let's explore the powers you've gained from the Sacred Place!"
Liam was taken aback when he heard that. "The two of you went to the Sacred Place?" he asked them in disbelief.
Both Cassie and Flint nodded to affirm it.
"That's a very dangerous place. And it is now hidden from everyone. How did you find it?" Liam couldn't believe that the two managed to reach the Sacred Place.
"Scarlet, one of my grandfather's fire dragons guided us. She knows the path going there," Cassie responded truthfully.
Cassie began telling Liam about the exciting adventure they had experienced on their journey to the Sacred Place. Liam listened to her attentively while Flint continued observing the two. He was a little bit annoyed because he felt like his presence had been ignored. Cassie continued her lively conversation with Liam, clueless about Flint's changing mood.
"I thought you were going to practice?" Flint butted in. He could no longer stay quiet.
"Let's go." Liam agreed.
"Can I tag along?" Ella found the three in the hallway and overheard their conversation. She immediately volunteered to join them. "I don't have magical powers… but I want to observe."
"Sure, Aunt. You can come with us! Come closer and hold each other. We will teleport to the forest." Cassie instructed them.
Following Cassie's instructions, the trio obediently moved as if guided by her words. In the blink of an eye, they found themselves standing at the center of the forest near their concealed barracks. Liam swiftly scanned the surroundings, ensuring the absence of any potential threats. Meanwhile, Cassie, Flint, and Ella remained positioned at the heart of the forest.
"Show us your power. What kind of power did you acquire from the Sacred Place?" Cassie asked Flint excitedly.
Ella's gaze, too, shifted towards Flint. The possibility of acquiring magical powers in this realm seemed almost surreal. Deep within, she contemplated the idea of possessing such abilities — a force that could be wielded to safeguard the cherished individuals in her life.
Flint, on the other hand, found himself caught in a silent contemplation. His eyes darted back and forth between Cassie and Ella, pondering the nature of the powers bestowed upon him by the Sacred Place after passing its trials. A furrow formed on his brow as he redirected his gaze to his hands, the uncertainty of his newfound abilities gnawing at him.
'Can I manipulate and control the elements — fire, water, and wind? But I can't feel a thing. How will I even know? How does one summon these powers?' Flint mused to himself, grappling with the enigma of his potential abilities.
Both Cassie and Ella watched him in anticipation.
"The flying orb didn't provide me with any information. How am I supposed to figure this out?" Flint cast a concerned glance in Cassie's direction.
"Eh?!!" Cassie's jaw dropped in surprise. "Wait. I'll summon Scarlet. Maybe she knows something."
After saying that, Cassie summoned Scarlet. The Firefox showed up in front of them.
"Master, is there something you need from me?" Scarlet asked her.
"Yes. How are we going to find out if Flint acquired his power? He said he couldn't feel anything. He doesn't know how to use his power. Do you have any idea how we can unleash his power?" Cassie inquired, her expression reflecting a mix of concern and curiosity.
"I'm not certain, Master. But it needs some triggering factor. Aside from that, I think the Sacred Place granted him power according to the desire of his heart and his ability. We have to wait for that triggering factor." Scarlet shared what she knew.
Flint clenched his fists in annoyance. He couldn't wait to unlock his supernatural abilities. Unfortunately, no one knew how to unleash it.
"It's okay, Flint. Just be patient. For now, Liam and I should protect both of you. You can stay with my Aunt Ella as we practice." Cassie patted Flint's shoulder.
Flint crumpled his face. He was annoyed by his current situation. He thought he could be of help. But he still felt useless without his supernatural power.
It did not take long before Liam returned. "The area is clear. We can practice here."
"Liam, maybe you can help me. Do you know how to activate my power?" Flint stepped forward, talking to Liam.
Liam observed him for a moment. Then he moved closer to Flint. He closed his eyes and placed his right palm on Flint's forehead. Liam had the ability to sense someone's supernatural power and ability.
Everyone fell silent as they waited for Liam to finish what he was doing. After a few minutes, Liam opened his eyes and smiled at Flint.
"You have it. I can sense your unique ability or rather abilities. You acquired three supernatural powers. However, two of them are still dormant within you. Now, try to concentrate on something. Using your mind and your eyes… you can move and control things.
You possess the power of telekinesis." Liam informed him.
Flint's eyes sparkled with delight when he heard that. Without further ado, he tried to concentrate on something. He focused his gaze on a big stone that was located a few meters away from them.
The air seemed to hum with latent energy as he extended his hands toward the imposing rock. A sense of anticipation enveloped the surroundings, the rustling leaves and distant sounds fading into the background. Cassie, Ella, and Liam watched him in silence, anticipating his moves.
Flint concentrated, channeling the newfound telekinetic power within him. A subtle ripple of energy emanated from his fingertips, creating an invisible connection with the colossal stone. As he closed his eyes, his brows furrowed in concentration, the atmosphere seemed to shift.
Slowly, almost imperceptibly, the massive stone began to respond. It trembled, lifted ever so slightly from the ground, defying the laws of gravity. The tension in the air intensified as Flint continued to exert his will on the stone.
With a gradual ascent, the stone hovered in midair, suspended by the unseen force controlled by Flint. Ella gasped in amusement while Cassie giggled in joy. Cassie felt so proud to see the manifestation of his telekinetic prowess.
"He did it! Scarlet, Flint did it!" Cassie mumbled.
Liam just smiled faintly as he witnessed this scene.
Flint's eyes opened, revealing a mix of astonishment and realization. He had harnessed the power within, manipulating the physical world through sheer mental focus. The stone, now elevated, hung in the air for a moment, casting a shadow over the forest floor.
'I–I did it!' Flint stood there, a newfound confidence in his gaze, as he began to comprehend the extent of his telekinetic abilities.
"Congratulations, Flint!" Ella uttered, smiling from ear to ear. She was amazed by Flint's newly acquired power.
"That's fantastic! Now, let's have a sparring match! Fight me, Flint!" Cassie promptly issued the challenge, eager to put Flint's newly discovered power to the test.
Flint shifted his gaze back to Cassie, furrowing his eyebrows. "Fine! Let's fight!" He immediately accepted her challenge.
Cassie assumed her fighting stance, ready for the sparring session ahead. Yet, before she could make a move, Flint harnessed his telekinetic ability. With a wave of his hand, an invisible force took hold of Cassie, drawing her body towards him. It was as if a magnetic field enveloped her, pulling her into Flint's arms with an unexpected swiftness.
A resounding thud echoed through the air as Cassie collided with Flint's chest, momentarily trapping her in his embrace.
Thud!
Cassie: "..."
For a moment, Cassie remained speechless, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events. When she looked up, she met Flint's penetrating gaze.
'Damn! Why is he looking at me like this? Is he mad or something? Why a serious face?'
Badum! Badum!
Her heart began to race, a blush covering her cheeks. Cassie, regaining her composure, finally broke the silence with a wry smile. "Well, that's one way to showcase your telekinetic abilities, Flint. Impressive move."
Flint's eyes gleamed with unfathomable emotion, a devilish smile playing on his lips as he tightened his grip on Cassie's body, refusing to release her. The air crackled with a playful energy as he held her securely in his arms.
Cassie, caught in Flint's playful embrace, couldn't help but roll her eyes in mock exasperation. "Alright, Flint, you've won. Can you let go now?" she quipped, a hint of laughter softening her words. She felt embarrassed since Ella and Liam were watching them.
