Chapter 963 963: Flint's Ominous Vision
Back to the World of the Guardian Warriors…
Flint kept pacing back and forth in his chamber. He was thinking about the suggestion of Justine and Eric. They encouraged him to confess tonight. She was still undecided whether to see Ella or not.
"I think… I need some fresh air to clear my mind," Flint mumbled to himself before stepping out of his chambers.
He strolled outside the barracks. It was already dark with no moon and no stars. As he roamed around the vicinity, he caught a glimpse of Cassie. She was sitting behind the big stone with her closed eyes. It looked like she was meditating.
A playful smile formed on his lips as he extended his arms in Cassie's direction. Flint wanted to prank her by lifting her using his telekinetic ability. Flint concentrated, his eyes fixated on Cassie.
After a few seconds, Cassie's body was lifted in the air. And as if it had a magnetic pull, Cassie's body flew in his direction. When she opened her eyes, Flint was already holding her waist, their faces were just a few centimeters away from each other.
Flint let out a soft chuckle. He stopped laughing midway when he met Cassie's deathly glare. She gave him a cold shoulder as she forcefully pushed him away from her.
"What do you want?" Cassie snarled at him, shaking the dirt off her clothes.
"Hey, sorry. I'm just playing a prank. Don't get mad." Flint was surprised. Cassie was not in a good mood. "Is there something wrong?"
Cassie just raised her eyebrow, pursing her lips. "Can't you see? I am supposed to rest and gather my strength. But you ruin my concentration!" She raised her voice, reprimanding Flint.
Flint fell silent. He couldn't refute that.
"Just leave me alone. Okay. Go ahead and confess your feelings to that woman. Just don't bother me here!" Cassie dismissed him. She turned around to leave, heading to the forest.
'Eh? How did she learn about my confession? Did she overhear my conversation with Eric and Justine? Is she not angry because of that?' he mused to himself. Flint decided to chase after her.
However, little did he know, the person he had seen was the evil witch. She was controlling Cassie's body.
"Hey, Cassie! Stop! It's dangerous to go there. It's already dark! You have a journey tomorrow. You should rest!" Flint caught up with her, grabbing her elbow.
Cassie narrowed her eyes. She didn't like being touched by Flint. "Don't touch me, okay? Let go, or else, I'll burn your hand," she threatened him.
Flint quickly released her elbow. He wasn't used to this cold treatment coming from Cassie. 'Why do I feel like she is acting strange tonight? Is this really my fault?' Flint was skeptical, still observing Cassie.
Cassie warned him again. "Don't follow me."
Flint felt uneasy about this. 'If she has a problem with me, then she should talk to me, not push me away.'
Determined not to leave her alone, Flint followed her once again. This time he held her shoulder from the back. "Cassie, wait! Let's talk."
However, the moment he touched her back, a vision suddenly flashed in his mind. He saw Cassie inside a prison made of crystal, sitting while leaning her back. She looked like sleeping in that sitting position.
"What is this?" Flint mumbled, feeling confused. But the vision disappeared when Cassie stepped back, removing his hand from her shoulder.
"Are you not going to listen to me?" Cassie was losing her patience.
Meanwhile, Flint was at a loss for words. He was still trying to figure out what he had seen. 'Is that part of my imagination? What the hell is that? Cassie is trapped somewhere? But she is here in front of me.
Is that a future vision? Something will happen to her on their mission?'
Thinking about it, Flint realized that he had to do something.
"Cassie! Don't go. Something will happen to you if you continue the rescue mission. You must stay behind!" Flint informed her. He believed that he got a vision of the future as part of his new ability.
"What are you talking about?" The evil witch inquired since Flint's words didn't make sense at all.
"Earlier. I saw a vision of you being held captive! You are trapped in a crystal prison."
The evil witch's eyes widened when she heard that. This scene was familiar to her. Then she realized that the real Cassie was indeed trapped in that prison barrier she created in her subconscious. It was Cassie's soul.
'But how come he can see that scene?' the evil witch asked herself in disbelief.
'No way. This guy is a big threat. What if he finds out I'm not the real Cassie? Before they try to save her, I must silence him now.' The evil witch made her decision. She would kill Flint right here right now!
She simply scanned their surroundings using her night vision spell. When she made sure that they were alone in that spot, she quickly made her move.
The evil witch discretely cast a binding spell, immobilizing Flint. Flint also sensed that something was off with his body. A sense of paralysis overcame him, freezing him in place, and he found himself unable to move any part of his body except for his eyes.
To make the situation worse, he lost the ability to speak, rendering any attempt at screaming futile, as his voice remained trapped within his muted lips.
'Eh? What is happening to me?' He pondered to himself, his eyes asking Cassie for help.
But Cassie just looked at him menacingly as a sinister smile formed on her lips. "I've warned you not to follow me."
For some unknown reason, Cassie underwent a sudden transformation, exuding a menacing aura that enveloped her being. With an ominous presence, she advanced toward Flint.
Without hesitation, Cassie lunged at him, seizing him by the throat with both hands, tightening her grip until the very air escaped his lungs. The malevolent force of her grasp left him gasping for breath, on the brink of suffocation.
'Cassie?! Why? Why are you doing this?' Flint was on the verge of losing consciousness. He was clueless as to why Cassie was trying to kill him.
