The Curse of Time (Harry Potter Fanfic)

Chapter 106: The nightmare of Marie

I immediately brought Marie into the room as requested to question her about the Boggart.

Hermione was present and was also interested in this incident.

"Boggarts can become uncontrollable if a person's worst nightmare is comparable to a true, deep-seated fear. No matter what we do, that fear will not go away and could even drive a person mad."

Marie probably had a fear she had buried deep in her heart to avoid experiencing this unpleasant terror.

"I would like you to explain something, Marie. Where does this fear come from? What is it? And why do you have such a deep fear?"

"I suppose I have no choice," she sighed before explaining her fear.

"When I was three, I had a nightmare. In it, I was in a very dark room filled with luminous spheres floating everywhere. Looking at them, I guessed that each sphere had something to do with me—perhaps my future life or my past."

"However, there were some spheres that showed anime, so I have trouble believing in their authenticity."

"Maybe the spheres show something that resonates with the person looking at them. In reality, I only looked at a few. After glancing at them briefly, one sphere started to glow with a ghostly green light, and the room changed—though the spheres remained. In what appeared to be a village square, I saw my mother tied to a post, completely mutilated and dead. Her wounds terrified me, and as I stepped closer in disbelief, my father appeared behind me and told me that everything was my fault. I was the cause of the village's suffering, of the pain of those who cared about me, and of my parents' misery. And just as I turned to him, a sword suddenly pierced his body, spilling blood onto my face and leaving me traumatized."

Now I understand why she is so afraid.

"Wait, it's not over. I was going crazy, trying to understand what was happening, overwhelmed by an immense feeling of guilt. The ground suddenly opened beneath me, making me fall into a light as green as the sphere that had changed my world. As I fell, every negative emotion you can imagine flooded my mind. Then, I felt my body swell with those dark feelings and an immense power before I exploded—and woke up. The worst part of it all is that I experienced this nightmare multiple times that day, only deepening my fear of that room."

It wasn't what I had expected. As I looked at the spheres, I realized Mary had faced her worst nightmare.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine. Your parents are alive, and we're not even sure that what you saw was real."

As I said this, I pulled her into a hug to comfort her as she tried to recover.

Hermione also tried to comfort her by saying that it might not be the future, just a bad nightmare.

"That may be possible because I saw myself becoming a queen."

"You should never believe that what you see is the future because it is always in motion. So don't worry—tell yourself that it was just a bad dream that felt a little too real. Besides, hasn't it been a long time since you last had that dream?"

"Yes."

"See? And besides, you were too young to distinguish between a nightmare and reality, so everything must have blended together in your mind, making you believe it was an inevitable future."

"You think that, but you can't defy fate."

This voice in my head was annoying, always trying to contradict my thoughts.

Pov General,

"You're too immature to understand, Evelyn. Once fate is set, you cannot break it. Only ten people have the power to do so, and you are not one of them."

The mysterious person left the main square of their capital to get food.
