Chapter 108: Teach to Hagrid
"Hagrid, this isn't working. You obviously know magical creatures, but you don't know how to teach others."
I stayed behind to talk to Hagrid after the magical creature healing course he had given us.
"The creatures I know well and that are exciting are too dangerous for students. I was lucky not to get fired, but if I make another mistake like this, I will be."
He looked devastated, both because the efforts to save Buckbeak weren't going well and because he was afraid of putting the creatures or the students in danger.
"I know that the most interesting creatures are often the most dangerous, but some are harmless and even amusing, like Nifflers or Bowtruckles. Besides, you don't have to show students creatures that could be dangerous. You can use photos, share anecdotes, or even bring them in—but don't let students get too close."
Fortunately, I had no other classes because I spent more than two hours explaining how he could teach.
I even promised him that I would check what he planned to show the students before he gave lessons on those magical creatures.
"I really thank you, Evelyn. I know I'm clumsy and not cut out for teaching, but I hope I can do it with your method."
After leaving a happy Hagrid, I wondered if I should borrow Hermione's Time-Turner to have more time.
"I can lend it to you whenever you want. After all, thanks to you, this Time-Turner is only used to attend multiple classes at the same time."
She's so kind—too bad the other two try to take advantage of her kindness to get answers to the homework they didn't do because of their laziness.
Malfoy's arm had healed, but he was using it to make Hagrid feel guilty and to provide an argument for Buckbeak's execution. This also disrupted the entire Quidditch season, causing game postponements and changing the teams participating in different matches.
One of the changes was that Ravenclaw would face Slytherin instead of Hufflepuff for their first match.
Cho, who had become the new Seeker of the team, received Marie's old Nimbus 2000 because a good Seeker needs a good broom.
"I can't wait to kick Slytherin's ass. I'm gonna show them they should have fought Gryffindor instead."
Marie had more or less taken on the role of team captain, even though she wasn't officially one. She was the one developing the strategy the team would use in their matches, but the actual captain was responsible for planning the training sessions.
The team was more coordinated and powerful.
"This Quidditch Cup will belong to us."
She had also been training herself in the Body-Strengthening Charm, which would be her secret weapon during the match—even Slytherin's rough plays wouldn't shake Marie.
Finally, Halloween arrived, changing the atmosphere of the school, as it was the first day students could go to Hogsmeade.
Knowing that the number of students would be too large, Marie and I decided not to go.
Author's note: "I just noticed that I may be wrong about the dates, but I don't care. It's a fanfiction."
Harry, who hadn't been able to get permission because of the incident at his uncle and aunt's house, was in a bad mood.
"You know, there's almost nothing there except for Zonko's and Honeydukes. The rest are just bars and inns. There's really nothing interesting, especially since there will be too many people to enjoy it. In two hours, you're done with the tour, and you'll just stay because you can stay. So you're not really missing anything."
I was obviously lying because there's actually enough to spend a whole day visiting, but after that, you only go back to the places you like, so it doesn't feel as exciting anymore.
