Chapter 498: To The Full Moon Festival
Morpheus and Ember reached the wolf clan territory. Ember looked around and realized it was different from other territories she had visited before. Werewolf territory was more humanized than the other beasts' territories, with the way their homes were built like wooden cottages, slightly different from the witch clan.
The witch clan had a more refined and royal way of building the cottages, while the werewolf clan built them in a wild way, keeping the essence of the creature of the jungle.
Just then, she saw huge black wolves patrolling around, only to be scared and cling onto Morpheus' hand. "They look scary."
Morpheus looked at his hand she was grabbing with all her might and said, "You have seen a dangerous and scarier-looking beast like a Dragon, but you are scared of werewolves?"
"That Dragon is my mate, so I am not scared," she refuted as she raised her head to look at him angrily. "You are my mate; you should be comforting me instead of upsetting me."
"How am I to comfort you for something not even worth feeling scared of?" he said.
Ember frowned and let go of his hand angrily and walked ahead to show her displeasure.
Morpheus smiled lightly as he looked at her and said, "I was wondering if these flowers are enough to comfort you."
Just as he said it, she turned to look at him and saw the flowers in his hands. The similar flowers from that sacred valley that every male brings for his mate on this very day. She remembers Draven giving these flowers to her as well.
She concluded, Morpheus had finally decided to carry out his responsibilities towards her as her mate. She was pleased but didn't show it to him.
Morpheus reached her.
She grabbed that beautiful flower bouquet from his hand and turned to leave as she said, "Not enough to comfort me. I am just accepting it as it would be a waste to leave them with you."
She smiled lightly as she caressed those flowers with her fingers, 'It's beautiful,' and she smelled them.
Morpheus smiled at her fake anger and followed her. He didn't expect that it was going to be this easy and pleasing to come here with his mate. He could see that old Ember who would carelessly throw tantrums in front of him.
He caught up with her and held her hand.
She looked at it and said, "I am not scared of werewolves as I am Dragon's mate. You can let go of my hand."
"I can't," he said and looked around. "Everyone should know this little female is my mate and should keep their gazes away, unless they want me to pluck their eyes out."
Ember realized the moment he held her hand, every beast from any clan who was not mated didn't dare look at her again once Morpheus held her hand.
While she noticed the single females were eyeing her handsome mate and whispering among each other while smiling. She wished she had sharp hearing senses like beasts so she could hear them. But she didn't want them to look at her mate either and grasped his hand tightly, while passing displeased gazes to those females, who could sense hostility from Ember and stopped looking at Morpheus.
Ember then turned her face and looked up at Morpheus, who was walking unbothered by any attention on him from other females. His handsome face was truly mesmerising, and his body and the way he carried himself with nothing but the air of pure masculinity, pride, and arrogance—it was indeed enchanting.
'No wonder they are looking at him. It's the same with Draven as well. Why do these shameless females have to look at my mates only? I don't look at other females' mates,' she thought and then concluded, 'But then, I have the best males as my mate, so maybe I should forgive these bold females.'
Her gaze traveled down to his neck, his feathery clothing with gold accessories that covered only his broad shoulders and a slight top of the chest, leaving the rest exposed to the eyes till his lower waist where he had the same feather cloth hide.
'I can't blame those females when such a body is on display.'
When she was immersed in her thoughts, Morpheus was observing her every expression.
"You should look ahead when you walk," he commented.
She got back to her senses and looked at him, "Even if I fall, you are here to catch me. I am free to walk the way I want.
"He couldn't refute her claim. But the way she looked at him, it almost made him feel like a pervert observing his body.
"You might consider wearing more clothes while coming out instead of letting those female gazes feast over your body," her voice was clearly displeased.
Morpheus could see her jealousy and the smile on his lips widened even more. It clearly pleased him to see her jealous.
Not getting any response from him over her comment, she looked at him, her brows furrowed. "What are you laughing about?"
He surpassed his smile and acted normal, "It's nothing."
"You better not smile at any other female," she warned.
"I won't," he replied calmly, as if ready to obey whatever she asked of him.
"Good," she said and looked ahead the rows of shops, "I want to shop."
"Go ahead," he said.
She looked at him, especially around his waist, "I don't see any money pocket. You have coins to buy things?"
"Don't worry about it and buy whatever you want," he said.
She walked ahead and went through everything she liked and bought it. Unlike how worried she was that Morpheus didn't bring anything, she showed no consideration and bought everything without a restrain.
Seeing so many things she was buying, not even knowing what she would even use them for, Morpheus reapplied something.
'His mate was a shopping maniac.'
Fortunately both her mates were wealthier to buy her this entire kingdom.
