Chapter 429: Chapter 427: Festival (7)

"Sui, is this steamer big enough?" Miyoko asked, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

A steamer of this size wasn't something typically found at Hojō Building, as it was rarely needed. Luckily, it's festive time now so they managed to find one quickly, given the abundance of restaurants in the area.

Sui glanced at the steamer, nodded, and said, "Yes, this will do."

"And what about this knife?" Miyoko struggled to lift a massive one-meter-long chopping knife and presented it to Sui.

Hojō Building actually did have a knife of this size.

"Perfect," Sui said with a smile, nodding his approval.

Since his Nichirin was too large to carry, and using his Raging Bull Azure Dragon Cut technique here wasn't ideal, this knife would suffice.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Chih-Hao had reached the thirteenth pull of his dough. The dough had already become as thin as silver threads yet retained its impressive elasticity. It seemed like he intended to keep stretching it further.

"Unbelievable, how many times can he pull that dough?" one spectator remarked.

"Indeed!" another exclaimed.

Chef Hojō and the others were deeply impressed by Chih-Hao's technique. Such mastery of ramen-making was beyond their abilities.

Old man Yu-Cheng stroked his beard, a satisfied smile on his face. He was clearly proud of his disciple's performance.

He then turned his gaze toward Sui. Though he admired this student of Totsuki, his hopes rested on his apprentice surpassing Sui.

Chih-Hao finally completed fifteen pulls, and the dough in his hands had transformed into delicate threads of incredible strength and resilience.

Chef Hojō couldn't help but feel nervous. Although he had confidence in Sui's abilities, seeing Chih-Hao's performance made him uncertain.

The surrounding tourists, equally impressed, began taking out their phones to capture the moment. None of them had ever witnessed such an incredible ramen-making technique before.

Even Sui had to acknowledge Chih-Hao's skill.

Sui turned his attention to his own task. He placed a slaughtered pig on the kitchen counter. His plan was to make the Big Bang shūmai, a dish from Chūka Ichiban! Though he had never attempted it before, he was willing to take the risk.

There was even some uncertainty in his mind.

He picked up the massive chopping knife that Miyoko had struggled to lift, but in his hand, it felt as light as a feather.

Having already mastered the Raging Bull Azure Dragon Cut, Sui could now perform it effortlessly—even with his eyes closed.

He raised his hand, and in an instant, the knife flashed through the air, slicing through the pig with blinding speed. Sui swung the knife so quickly that no one could tell how many cuts he made.

With a soft "pop," the pig was neatly divided. The head, tail, trotters, skin, and flesh were all separated with precision.

The nearby tourists, having been focused on Chih-Hao's ramen display, turned their heads at the sound. What had been a whole pig just moments ago was now neatly divided into different parts. They were stunned, unsure of what had just occurred.

Miyoko, who had been quietly observing Sui, was equally shocked. Although she had witnessed the entire process, she hadn't been able to follow the number of knife strokes Sui had made. A chill ran down her spine.

Even though she had prepared herself mentally, she was once again blown away by Sui's extraordinary knife skills.

At the organizer's table, the sound of chairs falling echoed as the event hosts, representatives from Yokohama town restaurants, and Yu-Cheng all leapt from their seats in shock. Their eyes nearly bulged out of their heads.

They had been watching Sui closely, knowing his skill level, but what they had just witnessed was beyond anything they could have imagined. And they hadn't even seen it clearly!

"What just happened? It was so fast! A whole pig was split in half! Can a human really do that?" Hiroshi Tomita gulped nervously, casting a sideways glance at Chef Hojō, who was also in stunned disbelief.

Tomita was filled with envy. How did Hojō manage to recruit such a talented son-in-law? In that moment, he regretted not having a daughter himself!

"Was that… cooking technique?" Yu-Cheng muttered under his breath. As a culinary expert himself, he recognized certain high-level skills, such as Chih-Hao's ramen technique, known as Silk Winding Hands. But true cooking techniques were exceedingly rare, and what Sui had just displayed was far superior to Silk Winding Hands.

How did even a chef master such an advanced cooking technique? Even though Totsuki Academy was prestigious, this was beyond the realm of possibility!

The more he thought about it, the more it seemed like Sui had just demonstrated a legendary cooking technique.

After handling the pig, Sui moved on to the next step. The Big Bang shūmai involved using an entire pig as filling, combining the essence of the meat to create a unique dish. With the help of Miyoko and the staff of Hojō Building, Sui finely chopped the pork into minced meat and prepared roasted oatmeal.

Next, he began working on the dough. Using a traditional method, he spun a large ball of dough on his fingers. As it spun, the dough grew larger and thinner.

"What kind of technique is that?" a spectator asked in amazement.

"I've never seen anything like it," another replied.

Once again, Sui's unprecedented method left everyone in awe. The tourists who had been watching Chih-Hao were now drawn to Sui, mouths agape and speechless.

"He is fucking amazing!" exclaimed a foreign tourist in English.

"This technique is truly innovative," Chef Hojō and the others murmured in astonishment.
